Well...we tried

We wanted to have our first "hot dog party" tonight. And we did, despite the weather. Normally having an outside party at the end of May would warrant the pool being cleaned out and full all ready for swimming, but not this year. We had to move our party into the garage and cook on the grill since we couldn't keep a fire going in the fire pit. The kids sure didn't let that stop them though, they had a great time playing in the rain.

Welcome to summer party!

My kids and I went to Boondocks tonight to kick off summer vacation. With all the snow in the mountains, and the chilly temps it just is hard to think of it being summer vacation, but we will go with it anyway and have a great time!! Tomorrow is actually their last day of school, but we celebrated tonight. Rachelle and her kids joined us, and the kids ran themselves ragged. So here we come summer, hope you can keep up with us. We have some fun plans!!

(Just ignore Ally's dressup skirt. She gets away with going out in her dressups, because she says she is dressed underneath. Picking my battles!)

Bubble Buddies!

Davis and Ally love to put their swimsuits on and go "swimming" in my bathtub. These 2 are goofballs together and they can find trouble and make a mess anywhere they go. But I love to watch and listen to them play.

Enjoying the rain

I watched it rain all day, and waited patiently for the boys to get home from school so we could go out and play in the puddles. They got home and took off straight for their friends :( I was so bummed. Although I had Ally, we played with playdoh some more and her dolls. But even she kept talking about her friend Max from tumbling. I felt so replaced! Luckily for me it kept raining and eventually the boys came home and wanted to hang out with their mom. I know the worries for flooding are growing, but I just can't help but love this weather.

Doin it 4 Dylan

Most of you have heard me talking about our cute friend Dylan Shaw. I have a link to his blog on my sidebar. Dylan was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. He is such a sweet kid and the boys have enjoyed playing sports with him and being his friend. A couple of weeks ago, Make a Wish granted him his wish in an assembly at the school. Some of us dressed as pirates to get the school involoved and it was a tearful assembly. Ally enjoyed dressing up and going along. Her and Dylan are buds, but she was pretty nervous to go up to him. He looks and acts quite different and it is so sad. Please visit his blog and say a prayer for him and his family.

Our creative side

Ally dragged her playdoh out tonight, and the boys and I joined her. I haven't played with playdoh forever. I was glad that we had the night off so we could play together. Davis had food on the brain, and he made a pan of popcorn. We laughed and joked, and had a fun evening together, thanks playdoh!

Champions!!!

Owen's team played a great game today (for what I watched of it). I get more nervous than the boys do, and I just couldn't watch most of the game. Although lucky for me it was recorded and we have bought all the games on DVD for the season. They won today 28 to 0, and are the champions! We are going to be lost next week. It has been non stop since last fall with sports and now we have a bit of a break. I can't get used to it though, because summer is coming and there are a ton of camps and clinics that the boys will be participating in. But for now I am going to look forward to a quiet week next week.

Kanesville family carnival

We've entered the last couple weeks of the school year, and that means it is party time! With all that is going on, we will be exhausted and need the first few days of our summer vacation to rest up for a crazy fun summer!! Tonight was the school carnival, and we had a great time. Davis and Ally had a blast together on the jumpy toys, I think Owen felt he was a little grown up for those. He spent most his night hovering over the baskets that were being auctioned off. He tried to win the BYU basket, but it got out of our price range and he spent the rest of the night being mad at me for saying no more bids. Andrea thank you so much for making the denim quilt. It helped the basket make $200. Owens class basket made $450. They won a pizza party for the highest bid. It was a fun night with friends and hanging out with my kids. If anyone is interested in a football game. Owen's team is playing tomorrow in the championship. The game is at 2:30 at the University of Utah practice field and it is $5 to get in. Good luck Northern Extreme!!

Another old one

I had dark hair here. I think I will try going dark again, I need a change. Owen has never been a fan of hiking.

My mothers day

My kids have made me breakfast in bed for mothers day the past few years. Owen has taken up an interest in cooking lately. I can't help him much since I don't know much about cooking, but I can teach him how to make a few things. Today he used his skills to make me oatmeal muffins and grapefruit and lots to drink. Along with the 64oz. mug Davis brought me of OJ, I was given large cups of chocolate milk, apple juice and water. I was very well hydrated today.

Davis was in charge of the menu, I was offered quite a variety of sides and drinks! Thanks Owen, Davis, and Ally breakfast was yummy!!

Dang..I hate it when that happens:)

I looked at my calendar at least 5 times today, and every time I looked it said "Owens basketball 8:00." So we went to the gym for a game at 8:00. Well, I guess my schedule was wrong because the game was at 9:00. Dang, just enough time to go to Baskin Robbins for a treat!

Message for the week...

Ally loves this song, and asks me to sing it daily. She loves to do the actions and I can't help but smile. We need some extra smiles around this house. We've had a rough week, but we are starting a new one tomorrow with smiles!
