One more for March

Well we've made it through March just about.  We've been in Milford and in our own little world since March 17.  From what we hear, it is going to be at least 4 more weeks.  More and more restrictions are being put on life.  The other night Gator and I walked up to the water tower at the north end of town.  It was a beautiful place to watch the sunset.  We were walking up with Joey and looked over and Owens truck was blazing up the trail.  So we all spent a little bit of time up there driving some of the hills and and then we went to the store and got some ice cream.

The baby cows are still hungry, and this has been Gators job at around 4:30 every afternoon.  

The boys decided that Sunday was dress up day still even though we haven't been able to go to church.  We've been doing a sacrament meeting at the house, and yesterday was a national day of fast and prayer.

More games, more baking, and this evening Gator and I got our hammocks out.  It was chilly, but we saw another beautiful sunset.

Joey is becoming quite the gopher dog.  He hears the gun and he's out of the truck running to find the gopher to bring it back to the boys.  He is also getting a ton of attention and loves being outside and taken to the park to play.

Grammy showed Gator a craft.  She is making some hangers.  

I always knew I would not be a good home schooling mom.  And this time reaffirms that 100 times over.  Davis is good to help Gator, but his own work, not so much. 

Shooting lessons.  He tried teaching me to be a better, but when I just close my eyes and pull the trigger, I'm not going to have much luck.

Spring in Utah.  I stepped out of the trailer the other morning to a good 4 inches of snow.  By noon it was all gone and the gophers were back out running around. 

Lots of work going on around here.  Now that the upstairs is done on the house, they are getting the basement going.  And the house next door, is going to get torn down to build a garage.  The story goes there is money somewhere buried in the basement, but they haven't had any luck finding it. 

I started to help her, but I just let her take over and finish up the cookies.  They were all gone by evening.

The main event.  Mike brought home a couple of baby cows that had lost their mom.  Gator is making a good surrogate feeding them and making sure they are loved.

Still in Milford

As of now we are still in Milford.  We thought things were slowing down with the virus, and we'd be going back to life after next week.  But we just got word that the governor said we wouldn't be back in school until May 1st.  And some states are now calling for a shelter in place.  If Utah follows suite and calls for a shelter in place, we will get packed up and hurry home to shelter in place there.  Yesterday, we drove to Bryce Canyon.  I'd never been there and the drive and day out was awesome.  All the visitors centers, gift shops, hotels, and restaurants were closed, but we were able to drive through the park and get out at the look outs and see the amazing canyon.  There was still quite a bit of snow up at the top, but my kids had snowball fights and had fun getting out and running around.  We struggled a little finding a place to eat.  Some restaurants are open for take out only, so we decided on a place called Big Fish Family Restaurant.  The food was delicious and what limited service she could give us was phenomenal.   I want to make a trip back to Panguitch just for another meal at this restaurant. 

 

On the way into Bryce Canyon we drove through another canyon called Red Canyon.  I wanted to stop there on the way back out because it was also really cool looking.  This one was fun because we got out and walked around more, and the kids could climb on the rocks and stuff.  Next time we come to Panguitch for lunch, we'll spend some more time playing in Red Canyon. 

And enjoying our lunch in the car since restaurants aren't open for dine in, everything is to go.  

So far so good

Besides the fact that I don't know what day or date it is we are doing good so far.  We are still in Milford, and may be for awhile.  I admit, I didn't give this virus my full attention until just recently.  I never imagined a life like this where everything is closed.  I am so scared for the economy, and I am even more scared for my family and how we'll get through this on the other side, when we ever get to see the other side of it.  For now we are hanging out helping with house projects, playing games, going for walks,  playing with Joey, gopher hunting, trying new recipes, doing online school, looking up how to draw on Youtube, sneaking into Beaver for some icecream,  and lots of TV.  All the TV is driving me so crazy.
