Simple Weekend

It was strange to have such a quiet weekend.  Owen had a game early Saturday and Gator had one right after him, but other than that it was very low key.  We went fishing with Deb on Saturday night.  Ally (with Owens help) was the only one that had any luck.
Davis hooked me.  Good thing I was wearing denim.
Sunday, I just couldn't hold Gator back any longer.  She has been begging to swim, so after church she talked Davis into playing outside in the sprinklers with her.  I had a nice hap in the sun.
Gator has been working so hard at the monkey bars.  She is so excited she can go all the way across now by herself.

Our Days

Lots of things keep us busy here. The kids keep me busy running around, but they are also who I want to be with when we have some down time.  For spring ball, Owen is on 2 teams.  So he usually has basketball Monday, Wednesday and Saturday with some training on Friday evenings.  Davis has games on Monday evening, and he also goes to the same training on Friday evenings.
Their teams are doing fantastic this session.  And I see the boys loving it and really developing their talents.
Spring soccer has started and there goes #6 running down the field to score a goal!
I had to snap a quick picture of this kid that thought he could push Davis around, well look who ended up on the ground.  The kid hit a brick wall and went flying.  And the basket...2 pts!
We had some down time last night.  Owen just got a new Xbox game, so we ended the evening with some bowling.  I know I'm old, but games are so different from the Atari I had as a kid.  I loved the game Linking Logic.  Owen just picked up a spare here....
 Davis missed his turkey.....
Gator was on a strike streak!
I am a bit worried I need to get Ally into some counseling to learn how to deal with stress better.  I walked in her room the other day and saw this......I asked her why she put her baby in a ziploc bag.  She said because she was crying.
But her love affair with baby animals continues.  When we have time after school we have to stop by the pond on the way home so she can see the baby ducks.
Bella gets read to daily, dressed up, or chased, or shot at with nerf guns.  The poor dog, she puts up with a lot.  But she gets lots of cuddles and kisses as well.
Owen leaves for school at about 7:10 and Davis at 8:05, and I have a sad little girl if she doesn't wake up in time to see her boys off to school.  She is going to have no problem waking up next year for kindergarten.
Owen may be a bit obsessed, this is his table by the bed.  He loves the fact that in Junior High he has been able to choose what he reads.  Although his English teacher did tell him no more football books.
And this is the floor in Davis's bathroom.  He also has his own obsession.
Field trip to the Tree House Museum.

Blake and Ally are such cute friends.
Waiting for Owen to come out of school.
We fill lots of our time with homework.    So much is expected of students that there is a ton of homework.  Kids are so much smarter now than I am/was so in 4th grade, I am pretty much useless to help.   Davis and his buddy Trey are entering an egg drop contest.
Monkey climbing the tree out front.
Davis takes good care of Blaze.  He even bathes him.
Do not disturb.  The NFL draft is better than Christmas or his birthday for Owen.  I tried asking questions about what was going on, but I was just bugging him, so I haven't even tried to talk to him anymore.

Another celebration

Mom retired from Davis County this month.  Today we all took her and Colin to lunch and enjoyed a fun afternoon together.   Rachelle took this picture of us kids with mom.  Some families have those cookie cutter kids that all look exactly the same, I've never thought any of us looked alike.  And I still say where did the blonde hair come from?  Enjoy your retirement mom, you deserve it.  And we all need to get together again soon, Josh is a college graduate!!  Whoot whoot.  Congrats!

Celebrating with Ty

We took a break from sports and went to Boondocks to celebrate Ty turning 9.  We had a great time.  The kids spent hours running from one activity to another, and they all had so much fun.  Well, except for my boys on the go karts.  That dang competitive streak in them.  But, bowling...nothing.  They didn't give a crap that they both stunk up the lanes.  I don't get it, I thought for sure they would kill eachother on the cars, but when they got a gutter ball even with the bumpers up, they just laughed at themselves, and eachother.
This picture almost started a war.  Seriously you'd think I asked them to bowl standing on the heads with their eyes closed or something.
Davis's reaction to a strike!
They all put their tickets together and came out with mustache straws.  I'm kinda over the whole mustache thing, but they liked them.

A visit to Lagoon

I tricked the kids.  They thought I had forgotten my camera when we went to Lagoon.  Well, I wanted to go on the rides with them and not worry about my camera, so I did "forget" it, but I knew I had my phone still.  So although they aren't great pictures, I still got some cute ones.  The boys loved taking Ally on all the big rides.  She is now 46 inches, so she can go on most of the rides.  And there are 2 new rides that opened since we went a couple of weeks ago.  The boys said they were kids rides, but I still saw some smiles.  I HATE Wild Mouse, but this was Ally's first time going on it, so I wanted to join them all.  I was so scared I really couldn't breathe.  I was screaming and hyperventilating.  But I survived.  The second time I stayed off though, once was enough.  Owen came off laughing so hard.  I guess Ally had "pretended" to be me on the ride.  How rude!   I love having a season pass.  We've been twice now, so technically our passes are paid for.  I don't have to go any more this year, I don't think the kids would go for that though.

Daily Pictures

She is my partner when it is raining.  I love walking in the rain, and I can usually talk Gator into going out with me.
I found a cat hiding in my closet.  She is lucky she is cute, because I don't normally like cats.
Day after day, week after week these little kids sit through basketball games.  They've found ways to entertain themselves.  Tablets are a much quieter option than many others.

After basketball last week, Rachelle and I took the kids to Taco Time for dinner.  I don't know how we didn't get kicked out of the place.
