First trip of the summer

We have a full summer planned, with lots of fun to be had and memories to be made.  We kicked it off with a weekend with the boys in Idaho.  I bought tickets for a Jon Pardi concert and got a hotel for a couple of night.  Owen and Kylee are also moving and they are in the middle of packing so it was easier to stay at a hotel.  But we had a great time none the less.  It was supposed to be raining with thunder and lightning, but all we had to deal with was a little cool wind on Saturday night at the concert.  It was such a great weekend, I loved it!  Some of Owens friends joined us at the concert, and we all sang and danced and had a fun time.  Davis and Kin drove home late, but Owen and Kylee went to bed and we went to the hotel for a mediocre night of sleep then up for 8:30 church.  After church we drove to Shoshone Falls.  That was packed and insanely crowded.  The falls are pretty, but a lot smaller than 5 years ago when the kids and I went.  I thought with all the rain and snow we've had this year, they would be roaring, but I think they are diverting all the snowmelt to reservoirs.  But they were still cool to see regardless.  We went to the hotel to swim, then I made dinner.  My family is the reason I survive this life.  I'm so grateful they will spend time with me, and let me take so many pictures to look back on and keep a journal with .

Laughing and playing games until I get my phone out for a picture then it's "everyone play dead".

Last Day of Junior High

Gator graduated junior high.  Not me, I'll be back next year, but Gator won't be at my school anymore and I'm so sad about that.  I hope she loves high school, but I'll miss seeing her everyday.  She is struggling knowing she won't see my students every day, but some of them go with her to Fremont.

First and last day at Rocky.  Same beautiful smile!

Some random photos

Owen and Kylee went to Riley Green Friday night.  Concerts and rodeos are about 80% of what they do for fun.  All I can say is good thing Owen married Kylee because she now loves these hobbies because Owen loves these hobbies.  Most of the time I have to stalk their social media for pictures, but they actually are getting better about sending me at least one.
But they think they are funny and send a hole string of goof off ones before I get a good one.
For Christmas I bought Owen and Kylee concert tickets to see Luke Combs in Boise.  The concert was Saturday night.  Gator and I drove up to Pocatello to watch Steele for them so they could spend the night.  I got them a hotel, and gift certificate for dinner so they had a fun get away, and Gator and I....well the dogs had a great time playing and hanging out.  I scheduled a test to take Saturday afternoon and I completed another semester so I had a pretty fun time as well.
Davis and Kin moved into another apartment.  They are in Layton now.  Gator and I went over to swim tonight and make dinner.  They probably get tired of living close to me, it doesn't take quite as much planning as it takes me to plan a trip to Idaho to see Owen & Kylee.

Floating Lights

Gator loves the movie Tangled.  She is a sappy romantic Disney Prince kind of girl.  Brady has taken to calling her Rapunzel and himself Eugene.  When I bought Gator tickets to see the "floating lights" for her birthday, the first thing she asked was if she could take Brady.  His mom bought him a ticket and I took the two to Night Lights.  It was kind of cool how it fell on my moms birthday.  We wrote messages to her on our prayer flags and lanterns before we sent them up into the night sky.  We had a little fire for smores, and a variety of food trucks to get dinner and treats from. Everything about the evening was magical and so fun until we got to the parking lot and sat in the same spot for 50 minutes.  The exit plan left a lot to be desired, but it was still a very cool evening.

Look Up

It was a crappy morning and I'm dealing with finishing my semester, financial aid, and stupid health insurance mess, and just life. But I stepped outside and it was sprinkling.  It was a beautiful morning, and I just had to look up and I felt better.  Still stressed, but I can do it.

My Mothers Day

I told the boys if I got Saturday they could spend Mothers Day with their in laws.  It isn't fun to share, but I will if I have to.  Owen doesn't love coming down to Utah, it is way too crowded for him, and I just have to agree 100% so Davis, Kin, Gator, and I drove up to Tremonton.  Originally we had just planned a picnic, but I was on FB and saw an ad for a monster truck show this weekend, so of course I bought tickets to that.  When I woke up yesterday I felt two faced.  I absolutely love rain and cloudy days.  I am not a huge fan of the sun, but once in a while I do plan an outdoor activity where sun is preferred.  Well, the weather yesterday called for monsoonal rains and high winds.  I felt terrible for hating on my favorite weather, but I had a fun day planned and I needed this day.  I prayed really hard and it was an absolutely beautiful day.  We did get a little wind, but just enough to fly kites at the park.  It was a perfect day, with the people I love most.  I seriously couldn't have asked for it to be more perfect.
This morning before church.  Tired from the night before, but we still made it to 9:00 church in Kaysville.
