Happy Birthday!

Today I am another year older. I am now 34. I am going to have to say that quite a few more time to get used to the sound. 34, 34, 34. Man! I know I have fabulous friends, but I got tearful this morning when I pulled out of my garage to take D Stew to his basketball game. My friends brought over balloons sometime during the night so I could be greeted first thing on my birthday. I was gone all day with my great family. Thank you! I got home later in the evening and there was another banner placed in my yard wishing me a happy birthday. I'm going to have to get used to being 34 sooner than later, because now everyone knows it was my birthday! Thank you friends and family I had a good birthday.

They do grow up

Look at this paper, Rocky Mountain Jr. High!!!!! Owen came home from school today, with paperwork for JR. HIGH. Oh my gosh, he is going to be in Jr. High next year. I may or may not have cried while I filled out his schedule for next year.

No more secrets

Davis has been wanting a lizard for years. My response has always been "eeewwww", which translates to no... never. I don't know what got into me this year, but Davis lucked out. I really did it, I got him a lizard. Ally went shopping with me. The secret lasted about 4 hours, but didn't make it through the evening. Poor girl was in tears she was so upset she let out the secret. Davis was in tears because he was SO excited that his own mother had gotten him a lizard. So here he is (a week early) Blaze, Davis's leopard gecko. Eeewww!

"P" Day

Preschool is so much fun. Where else can a little girl wear her Pajamas eat Pancakes and make a Pig nose?

5 star review

For Christmas Dad and Dianne gave us this hershey kiss fondue kit. We dipped graham crackers, marshmallows & rice krispie treats. (Confession they also gave us a whole bowl of pecans from the orchard. They said those tasted delicious dipped in chocolate, but somehow the pecans just didn't last long enough to try it. No naming names though on who ate them ALL). Such a simple thing, that makes for such a fun evening. I love simple family fun. Thanks for the great gift, it will be used well around here, my kids are chocoholics!!

Notice the ball in Davis's hand. I told you, it is permanent. No joke, he is NEVER with out a ball.

Heating the outside!!

All my kids were upstairs in my room this afternoon lounging around. They were so excited that the rain had finally turned to snow, they were all screaming and yelling. I needed a quiet break, so I went downstairs to do some laundry, yes I was that desperate. As I walked down the stairs, it felt like a freezer. Ok, all my kids were upstairs mind you and this is what I found as I came downstairs. I know I am not the only one with kids that leave doors open, but during a snow storm come on.

Movie with friends

With Disney bringing Beauty and the Beast back to theaters in 3D, it gave the girls a perfect day to have a princess day! Ally and her friend Lilly both love this movie, and they both love dressing up and getting all girly & fancy. My friend did Ally's hair all up and cute. I don't know how to do fancy hairstyles, but I just may have to learn, because Ally loved it. These 2 cute girls (and us moms) had a great afternoon out on the town!!

Learned my lesson

I took advantage of the cloudy sky's this morning making my room darker than normal and stole a few mintues after the bus came and took Owen and Davis to school to climb back into bed and close my eyes and fall back asleep. Ally was watching a movie and playing with her Barbie house, and it felt so nice. I woke up to a smiling little girl still watching and playing. I rolled out of bed and said I was going to go get in the shower, Ally told me I would have to use the shower downstairs. I asked her why and she said she locked the door to my bathroom, with the key inside. I tried every single key in the house to get into my bathroom, finally out of frustration I got in the only way I knew how. And now I need a new doorknob.

hammer + doorknob=

A nice hot shower for me!

Comparison

Owen and his friend Tres have been friends since they were on the same football team 4 years ago. Funny thing is, Owen has grown in that 4 years, and poor Tres hasn't so much. They are both in the 6th grade, but the way their birthdays fall, Tres really is almost a year older than Owen. They get teased all the time, that Owen can just put Tres in his pocket. Even Owen said he didn't know the difference in their size was so extreme until he saw this picture I took today at the school. Cute though, this one is getting submitted into the yearbook!

What we've been waiting for

We woke up to SNOW this morning. It wasn't expected, but Mother Nature must've felt sorry for my kids or something, because they have been wanting snow so bad! I shouldn't have told them it snowed when I first got up, because they were dressed and outside playing by 9:30, and that was with me stalling for an hour. The storm sure brought some fun with it, I just hope it's not the only snowfall we have all winter.

Remember when.....

Remember when we used to get snow? It was so fun to go sledding, and build snowmen, and have a snowball fight. And don't forget the hot chocolate that was so yummy and warm when the fun was done. I miss the snow:(. Will it ever come this winter? Instead of sledding and snowball fights, my kids are out in the sun with no jackets riding their bikes and scooters at the skate park. Seems a little strange to me. Mother Nature needs to meet up with a calendar and the weatherman and see if they can all work out a deal to get us some snow!!
