I would have never thought that I would volunteer my spring break for going to Milford. I've just never loved Milford. Dave and Sheila are remodeling Grandma Stewart's house and moving down there. Even though they haven't made the move permanent yet, Dave has been down there 95% of the time since January. The kids wanted to go visit him, help him a little in the house, and go spend some time in Milford. I was actually excited to spend some of spring break down there, the slower pace is beginning to appeal to me. Life is so busy and everywhere is so crowded, I'm beginning to see the intrigue of these small towns. We drove down Thursday and stayed until this afternoon. In Milford we drive in the mountains a lot, shoot guns a lot, and just spend time hanging out a lot.
The boys get really excited about road trips and their music!
Krissy and PJ came down as well. Gator was so excited to bring bikes and just ride around Milford. Milford is a lot more hills then it is here and one of her bikes didn't have brakes. Poor Eden got that bike. Along with some flat tires, they decided to walk their bikes around instead.
Some of the places that we explored. Inside this rock, someone once made a small one room "cabin" thing. It would actually be a cool place to hang out and have a fire and hot dog roast.
Krissy and PJ got a hotel in Cedar to spend the nights. Gator didn't need much talking into going with them once she heard there was a pool, and she realized it would be a big slumber party. So after they went to Cedar Thursday evening, we drove over to Mikes and visited a little bit. One of these dang horses bit me. I wasn't giving him enough attention and he wasn't happy with me. And the only picture I got from Krissy. She has got some lessons to learn if I'm going to send my kid with her for girls nights slumber parties! One picture, come on, seriously.
Friday morning gopher hunting. I think this is the boys favorite part about Milford. These little rodents are everywhere in Milford and they destroy the ground and crops. Davis is lucky I didn't turn that gun on him after he threw a dead gopher at me making me run away screaming.
Saturday morning a little more gopher hunting before Krissy and PJ went home.
Later Saturday afternoon, we drove to Cedar to have some dinner and run a few errands. The boys had purchased tickets for PBR at Tuacahn. While they were there, Gator and I visited with dad and Dianne in Toquerville. She's pretty excited that her grandparents will only live 1 1/2 hours away from each other. All three of the guys loved the PBR!! They were so excited to share all the jokes from the rodeo clown and tell me about the mean bulls, and the cowboys that rode them. I think I had just as much fun listening to them as if I would have been there.
And yes, they did get some work done on the house as well. Dave had to get the basement ready to lay cement and the kids were a great help.
