On Thursday, I went to Pocatello for a concert with Kristie and Lindsay from work. We bought tickets in May for Gabby Barrett and it was fun to see each other now that summer is almost over. We plan to get together during the summer, but things just get busy, so I'm glad that we were able to do this. I stopped at Owens quick to use his bathroom, and grab a basket of laundry to help him and Kylee out. I went up again today for a visit and to return the laundry. Gator and I just hung out with them. It rained really good for about an hour, so we watched the storm, then went to get a drink and some pizza. I was shocked when Owen agreed to play games with me. He is pretty high strung and game nights don't usually go too well with him, but we got in a couple of games before the competition got too intense. It is a little strange going to visit my married son and his wife in their own home, but it's fun too. They are doing pretty good, their apartment is little, but they've got it decorated cute. They've both got jobs, and school is about ready to start again for Owen. Life keeps moving on.

Half Birthday
Anything to hang out with my kids. Davis said he'd meet me to celebrate my half birthday tonight. I worked a 10 hour day, but I was excited for this all day. 43 1/2 is pretty great.

First year is done
I've completed my first year of college. Crazy, but it went really fast. I always said time is going to pass anyway, I need to just go to school. And now that this year is done, I say it wasn't so bad, but there were some really tough times, and I know some really tough times are ahead. For now though, look at those grades! And I've got the next month off before the next semester starts, I'm going to enjoy it. Monday night we had a get together. Normally the group meets at a church building weekly for the first year, but you guessed it, Covid forced us to go virtual. Before we were done with this year, we wanted to get together face to face so we had dinner at a ladies house.

Pioneer Days Rodeo
Last night we went to the rodeo. Everything was cancelled last year, and Covid is still threatening everything this year, but we are doing what we can hoping things don't get shut down again. Owen and Kylee drove down from Pocatello, and Davis & Kin came too. It was Educator Appreciation night, so I got tickets for really cheap through the school district, I just had to buy them a couple months ago, when Davis didn't have his new early morning job, and Kylee hadn't started her job yet in Pocatello, as a result everyone was pretty tired, but we still had a good time together. We are in such an extreme drought and fire danger, there were no fireworks, they tried with a laser show, but it just wasn't the same as fireworks.

Mr and Mrs Owen Stewart
Well, I have a married son. Yesterday, Owen and Kylee got married and today they get to go see Owen's favorite music artist of all time, Garth Brooks. The wedding was nearly perfect. Of course I was worried about the heat, but in all honesty it wasn't bad. Poor Owen was in the sun during the ceremony, but he would've been sweating regardless. He looked so handsome, it wasn't strange like I thought it would be. He looked natural standing up there taking his bride by the hand. They truly looked so happy and calm. Carrie, Wayne, and the girls made a yummy dinner for everyone, and the reception was casual and fun and a good time. Kylee and her mom planned a beautiful wedding and I loved being a part of it.

Late night treat with some fireworks
The kids all went to a 50th anniversary party for Dave & Sheila. I understand why I wasn't invited, but it really still was dumb, and I was upset. The kids went to Salt Lake and had a great time at the party, then I met them in Farmington later for a treat. All the treat places were closed though because it was a little late, so we just walked to Harmons and sat in the parking lot and ate ice cream. We even got a firework show because it was Farmington Days. Hanging out with my kids definitely made me feel better.

Promo Shoot
Owen was asked to be in the ISU football marketing promo shoot. He said it was really fun. I'd love to see some of these pictures on a banner, program, website, or flyer.

Heatwave solution
This summer is a killer. As long as Mother Nature is throwing 105+ degree days at us, we will be in the pool. That and getting refreshing drinks from Starbucks.

A massive 4th of July post
A normal 4th of July was back this year and it was busy and HOT. Gator and I drove down from Tremonton (with the dang bunnies because I was worried about them getting too hot, so they spent the day in the shade with misters on them). Owen and Kylee came from Pocatello for the day, and Davis and Kin came over to hang out too. Like I said it was our "normal" 4th of July starting with the parade in Layton (thank you Smiths for the awesome popsicles, my favorite), some went to the carnival, but I went to Krissy's to make a salad and muddy buddies and get out of the heat, then we had dinner at Colin's and hung out, played some corn hole, and watched fireworks. I guess one thing wasn't normal though, we are in such a drought and high fire danger that we didn't do any of our own fireworks. That was a bummer, all the kids have fun lighting our own off, but there were some pretty tight restrictions on personal fireworks, so we just decided to not do them. It was such a fun day! I kept thinking how strange it is now, a new normal, but I'll get used to it. Gator is the only one still living with me at the moment, so it is an extra special day when the boys choose to hang out with us, I love seeing them and I'll take hanging out with them any day. Life just keeps changing and moving on. We're good!!
