I love .99 cent summer!

Fat Cats in Ogden has an amazing deal all summer long.  Monday-Friday all activities are only .99 cents a piece.  I've bowled quite a bit the last few summers, and I still can't beat 75.  I'm a terrible bowler.  Today I'm the only one that didn't get at least one strike.
Everyone's strike face, except for me because I stink.

Memorial Day

Today for Memorial Day we started in Farmington visiting Grandma and Aunt Bev's graves.  After Farmington, we drove to Layton to moms.  Her spot looks really nice now with the grass and they planted a tree right by her as well.  Mom was like me, always looking for shade to get out of the hot sun, so I like to think she had a part in where this tree was planted, it's also her favorite kind of tree, a Red Maple.
We also had a BBQ this evening with Clarks family.  Stewarts are always so gracious about all of us crashing their house.

May Mish Mash

Here is a post with some of the random from May.
Man sometimes I hate cell phones.
Gator and Frank are such cute friends.  They keep each other company on lazy afternoons.
Even in her sleep, Gator wears red lipstick.  She has to look good, if there is an emergency and she has to rush out of bed.
Our favorite snow cone place, but Davis had a sugar hangover this night, he was laughing so hard, he could barely eat his treat.
 A surprise on my driveway.
Gator is loving being 8 and going to Activity Days.  At this activity, they met with the young women and talked about modesty and were models for newspaper dresses.
Shopping for bicycle helmets is not an easy job with a head Owen's size.  Good thing this trip was for Gator and not Owen.
We were leaving Walmart and it was raining.  Owen told me to pull over and I wondered why, but he had seen these people struggling with a large box and he got out in the rain, and helped them lift it into their truck.
Davis has his first job, he is helping out at the nursery around the corner.
Owen also has his first job, he doesn't seem to do much "work" though.  He is working for West Haven rec department.

 First paycheck
Gator had to get a picture of her and her boys on National Brothers Day.  It was late at night by time everyone got home together, but she wouldn't go to bed without a picture.
A holiday I just about missed, Red Nose day.  All the kids were at a friends house on Thursday evening celebrating the last day of school and I got a knock at my door and opened it to these 2 adorable girls.
The only way Owen fits comfortably in my car.  He has to sit in the back and put the middle seat down.  Too bad we need that middle row, or we could just take the whole thing out just to fit our giant teenager.
I love spring and the rain storms.  Thursday it was sunny and warm, but clouds blew in and we had a 5 minute downpour.  It didn't last long, but it was beautiful.

Work calls for play

We spent all day working in the yard mowing, trimming trees, cutting down a dead tree, and some major cleaning.  After all that work, there was no way I was coming in to make dinner, so we just made a party of it and had a hot dog/smore roast.  I love that about summer, fires and eating outside and hanging out together.

The last day of school is the best day of school!!

We made it, we are on summer vacation.  It was a fantastic, succesful, crazy busy school year, and now we will play and have fun.....around sports schedules that is, but we will still have a fun summer!
Gator was an awesome little speller.  We had to study really hard, but she almost always got a 100% on her tests.  Her reading has really come a long way, she can read, she just needs some more confidence. She is showing she has math smarts just like her brothers and her comprehension scores were right on.   Her favorite subject was definitely art, she is always coloring and drawing and writing books, or making little projects.   Gator is a tender heart and wears her heart on her sleeve, she is every single persons friend, and she cares about every one around her.  We were sad to see the year end with her teacher Mrs. Wilde, but we've heard fantastic things about her teacher for 3rd grade.

Looking at their pictures from the beginning of the school year, I see the most change in Davis.  Being with them every day, I don't notice how much he has grown and matured, but everyone else sure has noticed and seeing this comparison, I now see it too.  Last week, I was in my classroom, Davis walked in gave me a big hug, then left to go to his class, not really saying a word, just showing me he loved me.  I love working at the same school that Owen has gone to and now Davis.  Even Owen has come back to my work.  He was at Rocky almost every day this week, just hanging out.
Davis had an amazing year, this is one intelligent kid!  He scored a 4 on every single SAGE test and the highest percentage in science.  I am amazed.  That math grade is just a little bit laziness on his part, which we will be working on.  He enjoyed MESA this year as well as the NAL.  I am so proud of him for coming to Jr High and trying new things and finding things he enjoys.  He is looking forward to taking some engineering classes next year, as of now that is his goal to be an engineer in the Air Force.  I am a bit nervous for that, but I am so extremely proud of him.
I laughed at Owens pictures, he's even standing the exact same way.  He did manage to squeeze out a few more inches and a couple more sizes in shoes though.  I wonder how much more growing he is going to do.

Grade wise though, WOW.  He had a 4.0 3rd quarter and a 3.95 4th, that darn A- in math.  He also had a couple 4's on his SAGE testing.  All while wrestling, playing football, basketball and track.  He was a busy busy kid, and spent some long hours at Fremont.  He is getting closer and closer to getting his license, just now waiting to turn 16.
I am so proud of these 3 kids.  They amaze me daily and make me smile and laugh.  Life is pretty awesome, and I'm so grateful I have them to spend mine with!

Cousin Battle

With the hundreds of games these two play, it's amazing this is only the second time they've ever faced each other.  Femont played Layton for the last game of the spring league.  It was fun to watch, and after give each other a hug and be able to take a picture together still smiling.

Service for mom and Colin

This coming week is my mom's birthday.  Krissy had a great idea, to go help Colin for my mom's birthday.  He gathered a list of chores that he needed help with and we went over between basketball  games.  The boys worked really hard and we got a lot done for Colin.  I spent my time in the backyard pulling weeds and enjoying the breeze with all my moms windchimes.  She loved to sit out back in the shade and breeze and listen to her windchimes, so yesterday, I really thought of her as we were there helping Colin and celebrating her birthday.
