Christmas Presents

Another 95 degree day spent in the water.  Lainee and Gator got a Lagoon pass for Christmas.  I'm so glad they are both able to use them this year and hopefully they get to have lots more fun days like today spent together at Lagoon. 

This is summer

Rachelle invited us over to play on the slip n slide.  She bought an over sized one so even the bigger kids could play.  Besides the slip n slide, Tyler also got out his bumper ball things.  The kids thought those were great.  Today was the beginning of a heat wave, it is a little early so hopefully we get some cooler days before July and August.  It is supposed to be a very hot, very dry year.  Yuck, I certainly do not like that forecast.  I guess we'll just have to have more days like today, playing in the water. 

 It was also National Hamburger day.  A good hamburger is my favorite meal.  Luckily we got to celebrate.  Hamburger prices are through the roof right now, we will probably be forced to go vegetarian.  My kids will not survive.

 Owen was in Milford today helping Dave & Sheila move up to Cove Fort tomorrow for their mission.  But he still sent me this picture!

Memorial Day

Our group got smaller and smaller as we traveled today between Farmington and Layton, but we got our visits made.  Grandma and Aunt Bev in Farmington, Grandma and Grandpa Jones in Kaysville, and mom in Layton.  They've struggled with the ground by my mom, and it's kinda starting to bug me.  First it was a swamp and so wet that it killed her tree, so I guess they've turned the sprinklers off completely because now the grass is dead.  It looks terrible.  I hope they figure it out soon and she can have nice green grass, and her shade tree.  

Farmington Creek Trail aka car graveyard hike

Third time is the charm.  I've wanted to do this hike for awhile, but whenever I had it planned, I had to cancel it.  First because Davis had too much homework, and the the second time because Owen got stuck in the mud up in Logan while fishing.  We finally got it done though, and it was very worth it.  I pushed myself on this hike, but I'm so glad.  It was a beautiful hike and such a perfect day to go.  It was overcast most of the day, but when the sun did come out, it wasn't very hot.  Down by the waterfall was actually pretty chilly.  Speaking of down by the waterfall, I can't believe I didn't die.  It was a very steep climb down and there was a rope to use to climb down and up.  At first I told the kids no when I saw the climb and the rope, but they just slid down on the rock face instead.  I was watching from above, but I really wanted to go down, so I braved the rope.  I can't believe I did that.  And the way up, luckily Owen was behind me to catch me because I slid and it wouldn't have been good.  Besides the fear of dying in front of my kids, I'm so glad I went down because it was awesome.  And I'm so excited we were finally able to do this hike. 

Random

I always have a few photos on my computer that just don't make a post, but I save them because I do like them and want to share them.  Or in the some cases (my hummingbirds and worms), my kids tease me about them, but I just may want to remember what I enjoyed doing during this not so normal time.
Joey listens for Davis's truck to pull in anytime Davis is gone.  I have to keep the screen open around the time Davis is off work, because as soon as Joey can begin to hear the loud truck he runs out on the deck to see Davis.  It really is pretty cute.

Owen still spends a lot of his time fishing.  Even after he about sliced his thumb off.

When Gator and I planted the flowers, we put up a hummingbird feeder.  Now that they have found it, there are so many hummingbirds that come and visit.  I love to sit outside and watch them.

Even though I don't ask him for hugs, because even though I have grown very fond of Joey the one thing I still hate is the dog hair, he still gives the best hugs to Davis and Gator.

Besides my hummingbirds, I also have pet worms.  These guys are now in their chrysalis waiting to become butterflies.

 Davis surprised us the other day and got off early.  Owen had plans, but we took Joey for a walk.   It was nice because a lot of our walks we go on during the day when Davis is at work, so I enjoyed him getting to go along. 

If we go somewhere in Davis's truck, I usually just get in the back with Gator.  I took this funny picture of the boys cruising.  Sadly I think Joey likes the blasting music like Owen and Davis.  

Just a cool picture that Davis sent from work this week.  It has been a stormy on and off week making way for insane heat.  Up on a lift Davis had a good view of the stormy sky.  

Lagoon!!

I surprised Gator with a Lagoon pass for Christmas and of course I got one for me too.  Well then stupid Covid19 hit and closed everything down and left us with an uncertain future.  Today Lagoon was able to open again, very differently, but it opened and we went.  There are a whole bunch of new rules for social distancing.  And masks are a must to get into the park, but once in they can be optional.   Which doesn't make a lot of sense, but we took ours off except for when we were getting on and off rides and would be close to the workers.  Even the bathroom stalls are closed every other one so they are 6 feet apart.  The sinks are closed every other one.  We walked through the turn style and a worker followed right after us with a rag and cleaner.  They don't even stamp your hand anymore, they just scan the pass and hand you a bracelet.  The lines are spaced 6 feet apart, and once on the ride it doesn't get filled up.  Members of the same family can sit by each other, but other then that everyone must be 6 feet apart, which on some rides that just left Gator and I.   The best part is the limits set regarding park capacity.  I made a reservation and at times it seemed like we were the only ones there.  I am sure the rainy day didn't do much to help their attendance, but it was so fun!  Today was cold and by Friday when I have another reservation it will be 95 degrees.  I hope the pool can open.
