We went to Farr's tonight to celebrate my birthday. 36.....wow. I have some pretty special kids that made me feel like we went for my birthday, and not just cause it's their favorite place to get a treat. They may have had an ulterior motive, but we had a fun time!
And my friends at work brought a treat today too. This was my lunch, served in the lunchroom after my friend led all the students in Happy Birthday. Tuesday, January 28, 2014

The last "first"
Gator has been asking for over a year when she would lose a tooth. We were feeling in her mouth about a month ago and we discovered that she finally had a lose tooth! We were tucking the boys in the other night and I went to wiggle her tooth again and it just popped out and flew across Owen's bed. Luckily we found it. Owen and I laughed and she just looked shocked, completely shocked. It didn't help that it was 11:30 pm, I'm sure she was pretty tired, but after her tooth came out I couldn't get her to calm down and fall asleep. But finally she did get in bed and went to sleep whispering "please come tooth fairy". She is my last kid to lose her first tooth:(
And just cause I love to look at how dang cute these little boys were, here is a picture of Owen and Davis when they lost their first tooth. All three of them lost the same tooth when they were 5.

Basketball, basketball,basketball
January is always a slow month for me. I just take a while to get in a groove with the new year. And I hardly take any pictures. Which leads to a boring blog. Well, this January is just like any other, and the few pictures I have are from my phone and they are all pretty much the same.....basketball. That is what we do right now play and watch basketball. The boys love it, Ally tolerates it and I am a ball of nerves at every game. I just don't handle sport stress well. I do enjoy watching my kids have fun and feeling really proud of themselves and realizing how hard work pays off. Owen's comp team is doing great, they are undefeated again this winter league, they've played together for 4 or 5 years. His other comp team had to pull out of the league because the boys couldn't play on more than one team. That is ok though because he has the school team to keep him busy. I really like the Jr. High coach, he is amazing and Owen is learning so much.
Davis is still playing on his Grizzlie team. They've played together for about 3 years and it's great to see how they have progressed as a team. They are also undefeated so far in their league. Davis needs that, because he started a new team this year as well. And that one is tough to watch. The boys are all great kids, it is just always hard starting a new team and finding the right kids that not only play well together, but kids that get along with each other on and off the court. Davis really likes his coaches and he is a great listener and will do what is asked of him (on the court). He will learn a lot with such a good attitude.
And what does a little sister do during all this basketball? She has tons of friends and loves running around and playing with everyone. Before every game we pack up just about every doll/Barbie she owns and all the snacks in the kitchen and head out to socialize for the evening.
And since I'm the grandma after all, I am left babysitting. It actually works out well for me, since some of the games are so intense I have to have a distraction. Monday, January 13, 2014
A new double cousin
Krissy and PJ's kids are our double cousins. Ally loves to tell people she has double cousins, and we got a new double cousin this month. Ivy was born on January 3rd. I stayed away for the first week because of some cold germs, but I couldn't keep Ally away any longer and on Saturday we went and met Ivy. She is adorable!

No school, play day!
Just going back from Christmas vacation, and the kids are out of school again. They are wrapping up 2nd quarter. I can't believe the school year is half way over now. I still had to work, but as soon as I got off work we were out back playing in the snow!

Thanks grandma
My mom gave us money for Christmas to go out and do something as a family. I put Gator in charge of the activity and told the boys they could choose where we ate. Without hesitation, Gator chose ice skating, and the boys chose The Pie. They aren't real original and pizza just calls their names.

New Years in a minute
Happy 2014. I thought we were just going to stay home for New Years Eve, and I had a party all planned for us at home, but last minute the party got moved to Kaysville. That is ok, it's always fun to hang out with cousins and my kids would always rather do that. I packed up my party and we headed out. Although it was fun, I bailed before midnight. It was just the end of a long holiday and the noise and crowd got to me. The boys stayed behind for more partying (all night I found out, early bedtime tonight!!), while the rest of us went home to welcome in the new year in bed in quiet. Am I getting old or what! Our Christmas break got started with a flood, but we didn't let that get us down, we had a fantastic holiday break together, but now back to school and work tomorrow. 2013 was full of trials and I am not sad to see the year be done. I learned a lot and I hope I grew a lot, but I'm ready for a new year.
