It's a BOY!!

 Owen & Kylee had a baby appointment.  It took awhile to get it out of them, but they finally announced they are having a boy!  Now they just need to decided on a name, but at least we can say "he" instead of "the baby".  

Well I tried

 This year for the 4th of July, Gator and I went to Idaho to spend it with Owen & Kylee.  They go fishing every year.  I have taken my kids fishing many times, but this is the first time I actually "fished".  Basically I sat for hours casting and recasting, and got fried.  Still I had a good time.  We started at one lake and got nothing, not even nibbles then we went to get lunch and go to a different lake.  I actually saw tons of fish in this one, Gator & I still didn't catch anything.  Kylee did though. We were all exhausted and ready to call it a day.  Owen just couldn't give up and he did catch a fish while we were in the car.  He said I am bad luck, and never invited back.  I am sure he is kidding, I mean I am probably bad luck, but I would like to go fishing again.  

There was some milkweed by me when I was sitting down on a log.  A hole in the milkweed let the sun through.  I thought it was cute, and I just wasn't catching any fish so I took a picture of the heart.  

The water felt nice, but with the sun reflecting on the water for a few hours, I got fried.  Even with sunscreen.  

I was scared that if I actually caught a fish, I'd have to touch it and take the hook out and all that.  Kylee just grabbed that fish and got her tools and took the hook out like a pro.  

Owen basically walked around the whole lake, not wanting to give up.

After we called it a day fishing, we went back to shower and get out of the heat before heading to the park for dinner and fireworks.  We just got food from the trucks and sat on a blanket talking and playing a couple games.  Still my favorite part of the 4th, when we hang out, snacking, and the sun goes down.  I haven't been to a park for fireworks for years.  We always stay at Colin's house and watch from there, but the show was amazing.  Owen told me Pocatello does fireworks better, and I think he is right.  They were in the air and on the ground for a solid 35 minutes.  It was an amazing firework show.  We were ahead of the traffic and got out pretty quick, back to the hotel.  Owen & Kylee let traffic die down a little and hung out with us at the hotel.  Then lights out and we zonked.

July 4th weekend

 We are spending the holiday weekend in Pocatello this year.  We came up this afternoon and went to the temple with Owen & Kylee.  After the temple, we went and got our supplies for fishing tomorrow, then back to the hotel for swimming.  After we swam, we showered and went to dinner then to bed.  If Owen had his way we would be up at 4:00 in the morning for fishing.  We talked him into 6:30 though.  

Night Out

So the summer has been pretty uneventful.  With Gator working full time to save for school, Davis working, and hanging out with friends, Owen doing his fieldwork, and Kylee saving all her time off for maternity leave, and me working back at Legacy, we haven't had our typical crazy, busy, fun summer.  But here we are in July.   Last night I did actually go out though.  Tena & Wendy went to a concert with Andrea, Millie, and I. I only knew a couple of songs from each of the bands, but it was a really fun night, and the concert was really good.  We saw Edwin McCain, and Five for Fighting, they both put on an enjoyable show, with good music and they were both funny as well.  

Toy Story 5

 Owen & Kylee are in town for a wedding this weekend, so we went out to ice cream last night with them.  Again Davis was supposed to hang out with us, but he helped a friend move a client up to Oregon.  Gator is staying at his place watching Jake & Joe.  This morning we went and picked her up at Davis's and went to go see Toy Story 5.  It was a cute movie.  I mean 5 movies is a lot of the same thing, but they are still doing a good job with the characters.  And Brady & Zoie are always fun to go to a movie with.  It was a cool, rainy weekend.  Always my favorite weather, but we tried to have Jake come over to play with Steele and Willow.  It was on the cooler side, but they didn't care, they still played in the water and had fun running around in the backyard.  Gator took Brady & Zoie home on her way back to Davis's.  We have a busy day tomorrow with going to 2 wards so it is time to go to bed.  

The wedding Owen & Kylee went to was a friend from high school.  Owen said it was great to see his 2 favorite football coaches.  Boss and Coach P have had the biggest impact on him in football and life out of all the coaches he had in his football career.  

Kylee's Birthday

We went up to Idaho today for Kylee's birthday.  We've been wanting to go to Driggs to a Butterfly Pavilion so we went today.  I thought it was really pretty.  I know Owen wasn't into it, and Gator went along, but Kylee and I liked it.  Afterwards we went to dinner and got yummy burgers then ice cream.  The drive home we got a little rain, just enough to make the car dirty, but also brought a beautiful rainbow.  We saw the rainbow just as we were driving by the Brigham City temple.  Davis was supposed to go with us, but he ended up having a sick dog at home.

KPop Demon Hunters

 This movie has been Brady and Zoie's obsession for months now, so I figured it was time to go see it with them.  Layton Park has free movie Friday's during the summer and I knew this one would be entertaining with them.  Gator has been staying all week at Collin & Cheyenne's taking care of their dogs so we picked her up and went to the movie with Rachelle, Josh, & Eli.  It was actually an okay movie, it was more fun watching Brady & Zoie perform the whole thing by heart.  

Surprise

 I picked up Brady & Zoie today and surprised Gator at Zaxby's for lunch.  She is working full time all summer, and we miss her.  

High School Graduate

 Today was the big day and now I have 3 children who are high school graduates and doing big adult things in their lives.  I went to Zoie's graduation this morning while Gator went to the elementary and junior high then we went to lunch, a doctors appointment, and then graduation.  Gator is amazing just like her brothers, and I couldn't be more proud.  A little sad, but even more proud and happy for all of them.

Senior Week

 This week Gator just played with her friends.  They didn't have much of any school, and they probably wouldn't have gone anyway.  There were chalk fights, lake days, sunsets, bingo, movies, Senior Cotillion, and just a whole lot of end of Senior Year Fun!
