Zions

Today we drove into Zions to hike, along with the rest of the state of Utah and the entire Northern US. Oh my word it was SO crowded. I have only ever driven through Zions, so it was fun to get out and enjoy a little more of the park. It is beautiful. My kids enjoyed it also, although they have not been getting enough sleep and let their tired hungry moods show through a little too much. Once they had eaten and we were driving out, wow watch out hyper kids!!! Before we got to Zions, we stopped by a trading post/gift shop and we were able to feed some animals. Clark can now say he has been spit on by a llama.

Toquerville Falls

Today we took the jeep and 4 wheelers up to Toquerville Falls. It was a really fun drive, bumpy and dirty, but fun!

Carrie and the girls came down today. Now Ally is happy because her "woo woo" is here. Livia has a shadow named Ally!

O"fish"ally summer!!

Ok not according to the calendar, but according to my boys it is now summer. School got out today and report cards & year books came home. Andrea is always so kind to think of my boys and she brought them over a gift for the last day of school.

After school we got in the car and made the jaunt down to Toquerville. It is warm and breezy and peaceful, and a fantastic place to spend some time relaxing and having fun. We got here and my dad was all ready to jump in the jeep and head out for a drive. That is what is great about vacation, it was 8:30 but we wanted to go out for a ride, so we did. Although a not so great thing about vacation is wild kids. It is now midnight and Ally is still wired and will not go to sleep for anything. Tomorrow is a busy day planned full of four wheeling and hiking and playing and getting dirty!

It came again

Yes, it came again. The end of another school year. Although I don't quite know where the time went in between this year and last. Oh my gosh, it sure did fly away fast!! My kids enjoyed a fun field day today. I think we should have served hot chocolate instead of ice cream. It was a bit chilly, but the kids didn't seem to care, well except for the poor 6th graders that were in the dunk booth. What good sports. Last year on the last day of school we picked the boys up and headed to Disneyland. Although the destination this year may not be as elaborate, and well know or flashy, we still have plenty of fun things planned in Toquerville and Milford. And my kids are super excited to head out of town this year just like they were last. So here we go another school year behind us and another summer ahead of us. And we are going to be busy, busy, busy.

Burr....but fun!

Who would've thought that if you plan a 4 wheeling trip at the end of May it would feel like January?!? It was so cold today. Mat and Andrea and their kids joined us in bombarding Mom and Colin up to the property and making them come out of their warm trailer and joining us 4 wheeling and grilling hamburgers. My kids would have died if we loaded the 4 wheelers, and drove up there and then just turned around to leave, so we just had a great day anyway despite the cold!! Davis said he looked like he had freckles. Ya that is what happens when you ride behind your dad and he goes full speed through mud puddles.

Don't we love our 2 year olds?!?

I was making dinner for the kids tonight and pulled out my sandwich grill to make cheese sandwiches. I set it on the cupboard and plugged it in, than set to making soup (we've had lots of sandwich and soup days lately with all this rain and cool weather). When I went to put the sandwiches in the grill I opened it up to a mess. My lovely daughter has a leapster fridge magnet of farm animals. Well, she had put her magnets in the appliances and this poor horse did not make it.

Davis also wanted hot chocolate. Good thing it is clear and I noticed her alphabet letters in there before I plugged that one in. It reminds me of Rachelle posting about Blakers putting cars in the toaster. But at least Rachelle was smart enough to look before she plugged in the toaster. Well, I have learned my lesson. I will be more observant. I just was not expecting to have magnets in the grill!

School Carnival

Tonight we went to the school carnival and had a fun time. Here is me and the kids in our matching tshirts. And the toothbrush, Ally was so proud of. We had just been to the dentist, YEA no cavities!! It was Ally's first time at the dentist and she thought it was so cool that she got a new toothbrush. So at the school we went on the family walk, and played the games and the kids got to play on all the bouncy toys and of course had cotton candy and snowcones.

This inflatable was so funny. The boys wore a harness attached to a bungee (the bungees were hooked together). They had to run forward and try to get a football across a line, well they were all hooked up and ready to go and Davis flew back. I thought Owen was going to pull the poor kid right through the hole and out the other side. A minute later I was over by Owen and he was just standing there not moving. I told him to go and he said that he had already got his ball across the line and was just letting Davis take a turn. I look at Davis and his little legs are just a spinning trying to move and Owen was just standing there. I finally told Owen he needed to walk backward and help him out a little. It was quite entertaining.

PS Okay I am just about 6 feet tall and look at that picture of me and the kids. Oh my gosh my 9 year old is just about as tall as me!!!

PPS Happy Birthday Clark. Sorry you had to work on your birthday, but thanks so much for working hard for our family!

Cousins, park, birds & RAIN!!!!

Ally and I went to Layton today to play with our cousins. We had planned to walk to the park. So we packed a lunch and loaded the wagon in the car and off we went. The weather wasn't on our side though. Krissy, Andrea and I decided to take advantage of a break in the rain and stick to our plans.

Here comes the circus! Boy were they excited to see that playground. And that is one good thing about the rain, they had the place practically to themselves.

Ally was having so much fun going down the slide. She had her lunch set on the bench and was going down the slide and back for a bite and back to the playground. Well, as she was playing, 2 seagulls came and stole her bag of chips off of the bench.
She saw this happen and quickly ran over to the bench and started screaming. Oh she was MAD!

She was not going to let those birds eat her chips, so her and I went right up to the birds and she took her chips back. After all they were cheetos!

The kids had a great time, and the rain held off. That is until we started to walk back to Krissys, and than it all let loose. We were drenched! But it was fun and the kids didn't complain. I think they kinda liked playing in the rain. Although in this picture Ally doesn't look too happy. She was pretty cold by the time we got back. Sorry Rachelle, I brought your boys back so wet and drippy!!
