Keeping promises

I'd been promising Gator iceskating all week.  Today was Friday, I was running out of time.  I texted our cousins and we made a plan.  And that plan didn't just include iceskating, but also pizza at The Pie afterwards.  Great plan, and great fun!!
Having a size 18 foot is not fun.  He has found a bowling alley that has size 18 bowling shoes, but we are yet to find a skating rink with big enough ice skates.

I love Christmas Break

I love not having a schedule or any place that we have to be.  I couldn't live without a schedule for very long, but the 1 1/2 weeks for Christmas break is awesome.  Davis wants to ski, so he goes.  Owen spends some time at the gym, okay.  We want to have a late night, great.  How about a movie, or dinner downstairs, we do that too.  Today we knew we wanted to go sledding, but we didn't have to go at any certain time, so we just slowly got ready and headed out in the afternoon.  I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Had a Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas.  We followed our routine as we do every year with ice cream before the Christmas Eve party.  Then we go to the party and have a big dinner and more dessert, but when it's tradition that is what you gotta do.
No nut in our dessert this year dang it, but it still tasted good.  I spent a lot of the evening in the foyer of the church watching a storm coming in.  I was so ready for a white Christmas, and boy did it come.  We got about 8-10 inches of snow.  It was so pretty Christmas morning.  The roads were terrifying though.
There are amazing people everywhere.  This was in my mailbox, thank you, whoever you are.
Merry Christmas Owen, Davis, and Gator, I love you tons!!  Thank you for being such amazing and grateful kids.
Dressed up for church,  all the new snow, and Christmas morning, it was a perfect oppurtunity for a picture.
Later at Carrie's house.  19 grandkids, that is a lot of kids.  Throw a couple of new baby dolls in there and it looks like a complete madhouse.  My mom was smiling down on us, she loved these kids so much.

Temple Square

First day of Christmas Break found us in Salt Lake enjoying no school, work, sports, or laundry.  Gator did have a soccer game in the morning, and we are pet sitting a variety of pets over the holidays, but after all that were free and had a fun holiday afternoon.  When we go to Salt Lake before Christmas, we usually see a new movie.  This year Disney has a movie called Moana.  It was a win for all of us, it was a great movie.  After the movie, we got on tracks and rode up to Temple Square.  How can you not be happy at Temple Square, it is so beautiful.

Christmas Village

Sometimes I desperately need a night out with my kids.  Work and life get to me and I need time to focus on my number 1 things.  We had heard about a hamburger place called Scrud's that we wanted to try and it was right by the Ogden Christmas Village, what a perfect plan.  First we went to Livia's basketball game, then we spent a couple hours together enjoying some yummy food, and beautiful Christmas lights, but far better for me then the food and lights was the time I needed with Owen, Davis, and Gator.

One week away

Christmas is just a week away, and I have some excited kids.  Today after chuch, I made coal for a treat to take to Krissy's for a movie night.  They have a projector downstairs, and it just makes movies more fun.  I made a lot of coal and we bagged some up for our cousins and Owen took some little Santa's around to deliver the treat.  No, I don't have a bunch of naughty neices and nephews, but coal made with cocoa krispies and oreos doesn't mean you are on my naughty list, but my I love you, here is a treat list!

Gingerbread (graham cracker) houses

I'm not much of a baker, so instead of Ginderbread houses, we made due with graham cracker houses.  It's only all the candy that anyone cares about anyway.  Owen had some friends over for the night, but we crashed the party and joined in decorating and eating the candy.
