Not Fair

Like I said before, Davis was invited to go to Moab with Kennedy's family.  I've never been, but after seeing all the pictures, I really really want to plan a trip there.  It looks amazing.  So even though I didn't get to go, at least he took lots of pictures for me.  They did lots of hiking and biking, and now Davis wants a mountain bike even more than he did before. He went and played and we got left home with his dog, fish, and snake.

The end

The last day of school!!  What a great day.  Gator is heading to 6th grade, and Davis will be a Junior.  Davis is excited to sleep in (although he has football and range, but we'll just let him think he's sleeping in), and Gator is excited to stay up late.  I should've gotten a picture of Owen and I, we are just as excited that it is summer vacation!
We are in a cold/rainy spell, but it was the first day of summer so we went for a drive with the top down, and got ice cream for a treat.  Davis, the little turd, is already on a roadtrip.  He was invited to Moab, lucky dog.

Early mid life crisis

Owen wants to join the in debt, working, adult world.  Only for a few months though, because he will have to leave it all when he goes to school in January.  But for now, he figures he has 4 jobs, he may as well drive a fun summer car.  That car will not get you over Malad pass in the middle of the winter though Owen.

Happy Birthday mom

We had a dinner planned for moms birthday tonight, but this weather has been crazy.  We decided to brave the wind and rain for a quick minute though and take mom some flowers.  I know she still loves to be a quiet observer to all our conversations and get togethers.

Busy Girl

We are coming up on the end of the school year and that always is a busy time.  Gator had a choir concert this week as well as the 5th grade play.  The choir sang songs from The Greatest Showman, and the 5th grade preformed The Jungle Book.
In my class we have a baby animal day at the end of the year.  Gator waits for this day all year, and hangs out all day with the animals instead of going to school.
And our 6 cent date we had last night.  We both had money in our lime account so we didn't have to spend anything for riding scooters, and I had a coupon and points at Costa Vida that made our whole date cost 6 cents.

Sidewalk Chalk

The Bountiful sidewalk chalk festival was this weekend.  Sad thing is, we are also in the middle of a week of storms. There was a break in the rain,  so we drove to Bountiful to see if there was anything left of the drawings.  Most of the artists had set up tents and brought lots of plastic, so their drawings survived the rain.  But it was really sad to see some of the hours of work lost in the rain.  I love going to this festival and seeing the awesome talent.

We left as we saw another huge storm coming over Bountiful.  I was scared to see what this was going to do the sidewalks.
It was pretty intense to drive through, but we saw a beautiful rainbow.  It looked like it belonged on the sidewalk as one of the drawings with it's bright colors.

Mothers Day

I had a great Mothers Day.  Davis and Gator made sure we were fed before we set out for the day to ride scooters along the Ogden river trail and hammock by the river in the shade.  Gator made me a birthstone bracelet, which is really cute.  I have a friend whose daughter draws/paints and she did a picture of us.  After we played, we went to Kaysville to visit and Sheila is having surgery in the morning and wanted a blessing.  After all that we still had to come home and make dinner at 9:00 at night.  I was in no hurry though, I loved the day with my kids.  We drove home the back roads and stopped to get a slurpee.  Days like today are hard to see end, especially when we just have 2 more weeks until summer break............

Party girls

The boys were at work today and it was the first day of the baseball season for West Haven rec.  There was supposed to be a big party, but I think they did a little bit of false advertising, because it wasn't a party.  But I had 3 girls that wanted a party, so we went to Toads and they had fun on the go karts and playing arcade games.

Scootering

We may be getting slightly addicted to these Lime scooters in Ogden.  They are so fun, and a great way to get around the crowds.  Tonight was the beginning of the 150th anniversary celebration of the Golden Spike, and there is a huge party in Ogden all weekend, with crowds expected in the hundreds of thousands.  No thank you.  So we went on the first night where it wasn't quite as crowded, and we parked pretty far away and jumped on some scooters, and we had no problem at all.  We went down 25th street and saw the Big Boy engine, we got some dinner, and we rode around for awhile, until it got too dark and too chilly.  Never having a problem with crowds.

Just what I needed

I love thunder storms.  I love walking in the rain.  And tonight I needed to see a rainbow, and it was beautiful.

Reptile Expo

Davis has always wanted a snake.  He has really been researching it lately, and we went to the Reptile Expo today.  I honestly didn't think we'd come home with a snake, but I'm pretty sure he had it planned the whole time.  I'm grateful it wasn't this 12 ft Burmese Python that followed us home though.  Davis and Gator picked out a Ball Python, and they named her Scarlet.  After a couple hours there, I was brave enough to touch the snakes, but I don't think I'll cuddle up with Scarlet anytime soon.  She is a big hit though, they all seem to love her.
