Light Night

It's Monday night and that means we went to see Christmas Lights. We had fun tonight going to the Kaysville light parade. I hope someday this parade matches the 4th of July parade. I love the light parade. I'm such a mean mom though and tricked my kids into getting their flu shots by planning something fun and just "stopping" by the doctor on the way to said fun activity. I didn't have any idea it would be such a bummer for Owen though. The nurse came in and said Owen was due for a whole list of shots. The poor kid got 5 shots, but now he is ready for 7th grade (aaahhh). They all forgave me though, and once we left the office never gave the shots a second thought. What great kids. I love them so much and I love going out and playing with them. And thankyou Five Guys for a delicious dinner.

North Pole Breakfast

I've written about our elf, Ichabod, before. He comes to visit our house during the holiday season. He's just an extra set of eyes, and reports the kids behavior to santa. He came back this year, with a fun breakfast. Owen read Ichabods story, and we enjoyed waffles with "snow" (powder sugar), hot chocolate with lots of cream and Ichabod brought "snow covered donuts", Allys favorite treat. Ichabod even took the time to write each kid a letter and bring them a little gift of some warm socks. He said warm socks come in very handy in the North Pole. So now until Christmas we will have our elf Ichabod in our home. He is a great houseguest and requires no extra effort at all.

Thanksgiving 2011

To begin our Thanksgiving, we got to wake up early (way to early for a holiday), and drive to Brigham City to watch Owens football team play in a tournament. They also play Friday and Saturday. And if they play as good as they did today, they will have no problem placing first. They did awesome. It took a little bit for them to warm up and wake up, but once they did they scored 41 pts!! I love watching my kids play football. Davis was busy sitting on the sideline, watching the other coaches and memorizing the teams plays. That kid is amazing, he can call the other teams plays before they even start. So after cheering and playing we were starving. And Sheila had made us a wonderful delicious Thanksgiving Meal. I look forward to this meal all year long. I love Thanksgiving food. We enjoyed the company of Clarks family and the kids had a great time playing with their cousins. So I would call this holiday a success, a good day to enjoy our many blessings.

Don't make them wait

This is what happens when the kids get together and have to wait (oh my gosh it took forever) too long for their food. They had a great time playing with my phone.

Here we go...

The Holiday season is here. And my kids and I are so excited. There are so many fun things to do during this season. We are going to continue our tradition of going around to see light displays every Monday night. Last night, Layton turned on their lights in the park, and had a little program before hand. Owen even missed his Patriots playing Monday night football, to go with us. And Davis is happy to go anywhere, as long as he has one of his 57 footballs with him. So that is just a random #, but it seems like we have that many footballs around the house when I am trying to clean or sit on the couch or just walk from one room to the next!! Next week, Kaysville light parade.

Goofy Girl

Sometimes having a little girl with a goofy personality is fun, but sometimes it can be a tad embarrassing like when I have to run errands and go to basketball games and the school with her wearing these glasses.

A first...and probably the last

I have never heard the words "Mom, can I please go to bed," in all 11 years of being a mom until tonight. I was shocked. Owen uttered these words tonight as we were watching The Polar Express. (Davis heard me say ya, go brush your teeth, and he flipped out screaming because he thought I told Owen to go to bed and it wasn't bed time yet, he didn't understand what was going on either). Last night, Owen went on his first scout campout. He had a blast, and came home so excited. Snow and all they had a fun campout. Fun, but tiring apparently. I can't be too happy about Owen asking to go to bed though, because as I type this Ally is still going strong. I just can't win them all now can I!

Yes, that was me

If anyone was driving by Clinton Walmart this morning and saw a person walking around the parking lot with a basket full of groceries, yes, it was me and yes, I was lost. I totally spaced it and had no clue where my car was. How embarrassing! I paid, walked out and walked straight to my "normal" parking spot. I honestly thought about calling the cops. I probably looked so silly wondering around the parking lot with a loaded basket, but eventually I did find my car and got home safely. I'm such a dork!

Can't pass up a good deal

Yes, we had just made plans to go play at Get Air today, but Rachelle called me with another great deal, and I just didn't want to pass up a good deal. So after Get Air, we went to Classic Fun Center. And the kids continued their play with skating and laser tag, and bounce houses. I got the "cool mom of the weekend" award. My kids better remember this day when they are mad at me for making them do their homework, and reading next week!
Can you tell Owen and Ally were totally sick of me and my camera? It is the only picture of Davis though, I couldn't get the kid to stop for more then 2 seconds.

Got Air!

Owen was supposed to have a football game today, but with the winds and snow it was cancelled. Well, gosh we weren't just going to sit around without anything to do so we dcecided to cash in a coupon I had bought for Get Air in Roy. It's a gym that is all trampolines, and padded walls, and foam pits. Owen went to a birthday party there on Wednesday and has been begging to go back. It really is a fun place. Although I warn you, the foam pit is VERY hard to get out of. And sadly the place records people jumping in (I still think it's for the embarrassment factor, not the coolness factor of watching yourself do tricks). But it is delayed so I got to watch myself jump, as if that wasn't bad enough, I sat horrified as I watched myself try to pull out of the foam pit, and then adjust my underwear and clothes afterwards. Ya, that was awesome! But hey all in the name of fun with my kids. And it was fun jumping and playing with them!

My Bed

Ever since I had kids, my bed has never again been "my bed".

How do they do it?

This is my boys doing their homework. I think more football watching is going on than school work. It is a battle every single day. And I mean screaming and crying and yelling and just a plain out fight!! But, these are the grades they bring home. They aren't like me. I had to study (in quiet) for my good grades. They catch on so quick, and I am grateful they are such great students. I hope and pray this continues for many years to come. As long as they behave at school, I can handle the fights at home during homework time. (I always win!!)

Moms Day

We haven't had a day in a long time with no plans. There was no school, scouts, football, basketball, games or practice, the kids didn't have plans with friends, not even any homework. I decided it was my day. I just wanted a day to be with my kids and not rushing anywhere. We started it off with some Christmas music. That was my choice not theirs, what can I say the snow got me in the mood. Owen had his headphones on, and so did Ally, poor Davis had to deal with me cause his IPOD was dead. He was a good sport. We just ran some errands, nothing too exciting, but it was nice. We then met up with mom and Colin and Rachelle and her boys for some lunch. The kids had a little too much fun mixing drinks and getting Ally and Blake to eat limes and lemons. I guess that's what happens when you are the young ones. After lunch we went to the Kaysville theater to watch Smurfs. I haven't been to the Kaysville theater in years, but it was pretty much the same. You can't beat the price though, that is for sure. It was a good day. And now my kids are in bed...unaware of the time change. Is that mean of me? I put them to bed at normal time, then I hurry and change all the clocks and enjoy an extra hour of quiet to myself. It is only once a year, so it can't be too mean right.

First's

I needed to get an old photo posted because not much has happened yet, and I was itching to get a post in for November. It is the 4th already afterall. I found a "first Halloween" picture of my kids. Owens is really his second, but he was only 2 months and very sick on his first. He was much happier the next year. Davis is wearing the same costume that Owen wore though that first year. Funny because Davis was 8 months and Owen was 2 months old, but they wore the same costume. I guess I could've continued the tradition with Ally, but she needed pink. It is still a dog, but a girl dog!
