Last Monday, Gator and I went to Panda Express for lunch. I'm not one for fortune cookies. I like to read the fortune, I just don't love the cookie. Anyway, I saved my fortune, because it really made me feel good. I hoped that it would bring me some luck. But after a busy day, we were on our way home and the car broke down. Dead, barely got it into a parking lot of a Buddhist Church. Davis came and picked us up and we left it where it was. After we got home, I fixed dinner and we needed a treat, Zeppes tasted so yummy. So all week I was stressed out, and I still am. After a couple days sharing vehicles with Davis, we partway got the car fixed, thanks to PJ being so amazing. It still isn't working great, but I hope it gets me to work for a little bit. I think I'm going to try to sale it just for what I owe and get out of the thing. I can't afford to keep fixing it. So it was a bad week vehicle wise, but Church today made me think about that silly fortune again. I need to realign my priorities, and I will make it through this trail. Not in my time frame obviously, but I will "have it in the bag".

Frank!! And soccer
Gator decided to give soccer another go. She didn't want it to be as competitive, so we signed her up for rec. It was fun to see her out playing soccer again, but I struggled. I didn't think I was competitive, and I still don't think I am, but man it was different to watch compared to her games in the past. It's okay, she had fun. It was hotter than hot, and they were dying, but she was still had fun playing soccer again. After her game, I had a surprise for her. We got to see Frank! We miss that kid so bad, and Gator has been talking about him a lot lately. Him and Lorre came down for dinner, and there was a little chalk art festival in North Ogden that we walked around. He is his same funny self. It was so good to see him again!

Happy 19th Birthday!
18 was a rough year for Owen. A lot of good things happened, but a lot of struggles came his way and our way. Those struggles aren't over, they never will be, but I hope Owen is seeing the way to get through the struggles. Owen is resilient, he will get down for all of about 5 minutes, then he faces his trial head on. And in that body is a lot of room for determination and strength. I love this kid way more than I ever thought possible when I was 21 and expecting my first child. I never knew what motherhood was going to do to me or how I was going to handle it. Owen came to me and I never looked back. He was made for me. All I can do is hope that one day he knows who he is, what he means to me, and that he has a Heavenly Father with big plans for him and that He along with me believe in him. We went out to Zeppes last night because we knew that we had a busy day ahead of us with the first day of school, football, a viewing, and a birthday! I made a treat to deliver at work, but Owen shared with me that he has a particular student that doesn't react well to birthday celebrations, so I left the treat for him at home on the cupboard. I went to work, then hurried home to make some big jugs of lemonade to take out to Fremont to share with the team after practice. August 20th is also national lemonade day. One of Owens favorite drinks! After football, we drove to Centerville for a viewing and stopped in Farmington on the way home for dinner. Davis knows his brother and suggested RandR BBQ. Oh, it was delicious. It was a perfect place to have Owens birthday dinner! And just may be a new favorite.
6th and 11th
The dreaded day came. Gator started her last day of elementary school today and Davis his junior year. Gator is excited about her teacher, she is really good friends with her daughter. I was so proud of her when I picked her up. We were talking about her day, and she said she was friends with a new girl. She knows what it is like to not have friends or to feel left out, and she didn't want anyone to feel that way. That heart, at times has been hurt by others, but it remains just as pure and sweet towards other people. Davis had a schedule full of medical classes, but decided last minute he wanted to go another direction. So he picked up so Ag classes. He said he really thinks he will enjoy this year. He's single again ( I really liked Kennedy, I just didn't want him dating so seriously so young) they are still friends, but he is branching out and finding new friends. Always a little worrisome for a mom, but he's smart. Owen is back at the elementary school, and me at the junior high. It was a crazy day for both of us as we met new students and tried to calm nerves. I pray this year is great for my kids, lots has changed, and they continue to go through confusing times that are a struggle for all of us, but I pray Heavenly Father is by their side and they know they are in my mind and heart.
Davis has football class 1st period, that is why he looks like he just rolled out of bed in his pajamas.

First game
Fremont had their first game of the season last night, and let me tell you.....it stunk! We were behind by 10 and right before half scored a second touchdown to make the score 14 to 10. It was awesome, and the boys came back from half with energy and a much better game. Down to one minute and we were down by 3. Another touchdown put us up and I guess we all just let our guard down thinking the game was done. We couldn't have been more wrong. We lost by 3 with 17 seconds left. It sucked. We all walked out not even knowing what happened except that we lost. However, I loved watching Davis start his first varsity game. He was so nervous for days leading up to the game, he made himself sick, he did great and I love watching these kids put there heart into something they love. And watching Owen coach is awesome too. He cares about the game and he cares about his players. The interaction between him and the team makes me see that football really is his life. After he is done playing, I am positive he will be back coaching, maybe even at Fremont. One thing I know is that they have a huge support in Gator. That little girl was in tears after the game, because she was worried about her brothers. She doesn't love football, but she still didn't want to see her boys be upset.

Middle Child Day
It was mine and Davis's day today, Middle Child Day!! It's not as bad as it's cracked up to be, but it's still fun to have a day to celebrate with my middle child. We made some PB bars for a treat, and I asked for a picture, and he took that as goofing off making me beg for a decent picture. But, he makes me laugh every day. He stresses me out like none other, but I sure love him!

Demolition Derby
We went back to the fair last night for the demolition derby. There were insane crowds at the fair, I guess that is good for Weber County and the money side of things, but it was a mad house! Once we finally got into the parking lot, we had a long line to get into the arena. But, we made it, and it was fun. They added a lot to the derby this year, it lasted over 3 hours. That is a lot of crashing, and noise. Gator, Sydney and I went over a little early, but it took so long to get in, we didn't have much time to walk around, but we went to the petting zoo, and Gator took Sydney to try the stilts.

Lake Day
I like to plan a couple lake days with my family during the summer. This summer has gotten away from us and with a couple of us moving and all the other craziness, we only got one in. We had a fun day at Pineview today regardless, and I'm glad we got some of us together for this one day!
