Fall Drive

We drove up to Hardware Ranch this afternoon.  There was a bit of a misunderstanding and I actually didn't have a clue where Hardware Ranch actually was.  The drive up Ogden Canyon was pretty, but the dirt road to cut across was awful.  We went a different way home, we drove through Hyrum.  I wish we would've gone that way in the first place because it was absolutely beautiful.  The colors were amazing, and so bright.  In hindsight, I realize I should've made everyone pull over for pictures before Davis rode his 4wheeler.  In the pictures, he has terrible helmet hair and a face covered in dirt.  I love my fall drive.

A few pictures taken from the truck as we drove down the road so they are blurry and don't even look close to what I was seeing.  I honestly don't think I've seen so much red and gold.

Fall Hike

The leaves seem to be changing really fast this year, and I don't have my drive planned until next week, so today we snuck in a little preview of fall with a hike.  It was quick, but I will take any chance I can to go see fall.  My very most favorite time of year.

Homecoming Week

Fremont had Homecoming this past week.  With all the Covid restrictions, a lot was cancelled, but Davis and his friends made do and still had a good senior Homecoming.  I'm still trying to grasp that word...senior.  Anyway the Silverline each took a senior player and brought them treats all week, without giving away who they were until before the game.  We played Syracuse in the game last night and won.  The offense played a fantastic game, I personally think Owen is doing a great job with the offensive line.  The dance was of course cancelled, but alot of the kids still got together in groups and had a day date, and dressed up for pictures and dinner.  Davis asked a girl named Zoe, they had fun 4 wheeling in the rain this morning.  And got cleaned up for their evening.  I'm just waiting for him to get home now, they had dinner and pictures at a friends house, then a parent actually works at a Charter school, and he let them in for a dance.  There was about 100 kids there, but they hired a DJ and had their own Homecoming dance.  So I'm anxious to hear how the night went, but I may be asleep before he gets home.

I'm doing it

I've talked about going to college for years and years.  If I had gone to school when I first thought about it, I would probably have 5 degrees by now.  But, yesterday was my first day of school.  I'm terrified, nervous, excited, proud of myself, and already tired.  I am a college student, and I took a first day of school photo.

It's a sliver, but I'm making progress!
I said I didn't even want to think about it being Davis's senior year, but all these things are happening to make me more aware.  It's homecoming week.  The cheerleaders brought these posters around, and the seniors enjoyed their "senior sunrise."  I'm glad they are not letting Covid take away everything this year.
Gator is still busy crocheting.  I can't believe she taught herself just a few weeks ago and she is already so good at it.  I have my own little personal decorator.   She's helping me decorate for my favorite time of year.  Now if the weather would just get the memo.

The weekend

This weekend was a good one.  Friday night Fremont football beat Clearfield.  It was a bit of a rough start, but second half Fremont remembered how to play football, and ended up killing Clearfield.  I still just don't want to admit that this is Davis's senior season.  I hate the thought.
Since Covid has changed how the games are, Gator decided that she doesn't like going quite as much.  She still loves football, and supporting the boys, but she can't roam around with her friends anymore or hang out by the F.  Tickets are so limited and if she was to go, the rule is to sit in the bleacher and pretty much not move.  It's pretty lame.  So instead of the game Friday, her and some friends went to Frightmares.
Yesterday, Gator and I went camping with Mat, Andrea, and Colin.  Krissy, PJ, Josh and Rachelle all went up for the day.  We went to Colins property.  It is close and easy to get to, and alot of fun.  Leaves are changing, fall is in the air, and there was lots of deer, and woodpeckers out this weekend too.

2020 keeps punching

Add hurricane force winds to the list of 2020 now.  Never in my life has school been cancelled for wind, and we had some pretty bad East winds when I was growing up.  The last two days have been "wind days".  In 2016, there was a small tornado in the Terrace, and that didn't even cancel school.  According to the news, this storm caused more damage than that.  I think a big part of the problem was power.  Luckily we never lost power here, but some people will be without power for up to a week they are saying.  I stole some picture from the news, but the last picture is at Krissy & PJ's.  They had a big tree go down in the backyard.
