Little Babylon

After the family reunion, we drove to Toquerville.  Dad was on vacation so we didn't get to see him, but I am planning on going down for the 4th of July, so I wanted to leave the 4 wheelers and trailer down there to have for then.  We couldn't leave without going for a fun ride with all my aunts though.  They always know the fun places to go, and I loved where they took us this time.  Little Babylon it was called.  We saw some cool things, and the river was so much fun to swim in.
We should've hiked first and then swam, because man it is hot down in Toquerville.  I will remember that for the future, if hiking and swimming are on the agenda get all hot and sweaty first then cool down by jumping in the river.  We saw some cool things though, like dinosaur tracks and an abandoned silver mine, and some Indian pictographs.

Kick off to summer

Wasting no time beginning summer, we started it off Friday with a camping trip.  The kids had a fantastic school year, but it is time to play!  We had a family reunion down South and brought the trailer and 4 wheelers down with us.  It was a great reunion with lots of fun activities and yummy food.  We got a kick out of the frog hopping contest.  Owen got a very hoppy frog and he lept to first place.  Gators was a little lazy and just wanted a ride to the finish line.  All my kids love camping.  They love staying in the trailer, riding 4 wheelers, getting dirty, staying up late, playing with cousins, fishing and the yummy camping food.  I love to watch my kids having so much fun.  And of course taking lots of pictures.
Watch out gophers, here comes the mini van.  I laughed so hard as we were shooting gophers, and I saw the mean mini van with the guns sticking out the window.  Somehow mini vans and guns don't go together.

My rain buddy

My boys think I'm crazy, but I can always count on Ally to be my rain buddy.  I love the rain, and I always want to go walking in it.  Tonight there was a beautiful rainbow. We walked down the street splashing in the puddles, and having a fun conversation.  And right now, I'm loving the thunder outside.  I am so in love with thunder and rain and rainbows.

A little bragging

I just gotta brag about my kids for a minute.  I am so proud of these great kids.  It is the end of another school year and they had some great accomplishments.  Owen scored the highest on the science core test in his class with a 93%.  Davis scored the highest on the math core test in his class with a 98%.  At the awards assembly, Owen received an award for being on the high honor role every quarter this year.  What great kids.
Gator has been working on learning to tie her shoes.  She would get pretty frustrated, but ta da, she is a pro now!
After acing exams, Davis has had a play week.  This last week of school is crazy.  I think Owen missed all the fun of elementary school this week. There have been 2 field days, races, parties and tons of treats.
Bella is a great dog for Gator.  She lets her do whatever with her and drag her around all day.  They "love" to play ring around the rosies.
Davis went on a 9 mile bike ride with his scout group last night.  He was pretty proud of himself and now that is all he wants to do, is go ride bikes.  I've got to get a tougher rear end before I can ride a bike, cause it hurts a lot.
Basketball practice gets pretty boring for 5 year old girls.  Good thing a park is close by.
Gator is my social butterfly.  She thinks she has to be playing with a friend every day all day.  They've decided the trailer is their club house and through out the week all her barbies and all her babies ended up out in the trailer.  I quite like the idea because my house is quiet and clean and she's out having a great time.  She will miss the trailer though for the next couple months.  It is going to be parked in Southern Utah for the summer so we have a place to go camping and riding 4 wheelers.  It is going to be a crazy fun summer, beginning tomorrow.  It's the last day of school and the first day of summer vacation!!  I'm so excited.

Need some manners

The other day after pictures I took my kids to get some dinner.  We had a little too much fun, and we were getting a few dirty looks.  But I can't blame the kids for it all, I was the one taking pictures after all.  Before all the craziness began, Davis made us some yummy treats.  He was pretty proud of himself.
Davis had a hole in his straw and thought the "fountain" of Gatorade was great fun.
I was looking down at my phone and splat I got a spit wad right in my eye.  Gross, but the kids sure got a kick out of it.  Ally thought it was all hilarious!
We will be working on manners in our house before we venture out in public again.

The big picture

I stole these from Facebook, and I love how they turned out.  Andrea's sister in law did a fantastic job!  I can't decided which group one I like better.  When I take pictures, I just pray that one turns out, its a bonus when more than one look great.  It helps when the photographer knows how to use Photoshop.  With a group this big, it is a must I'm sure.

New Pictures

We had a family picture done today, so since the kids were clean and nicely dressed I snapped a few of them before the whole family got there.
Clarks schedule is so hard to plan things with.  He was supposed to be home this weekend, but he eneded up not being in town, so the kids and I did a picture for him for Fathers Day.
