Pets

I never had pets growing up.  Well, we fed the stray cat and she stuck around our house and had millions of kittens, but we never had a real family pet.  First thing Clark wanted to buy together after we were married was a dog.  We got Deena, followed by Scout and Bella.  We've had fish since Owen was 3 and we also have a lizard.  Growing up without pets, I haven't gotten too attached to any of our pets, but my kids sure are.  Bella and Gator are best friends.  We were driving to the groomer to pick Bella up today and Gator sat in the back seat crying the whole way, "Bella, I'm coming".  Yesterday in church she drew this cute picture and I come up to bed at night and find the 2 of them cuddling in my bed under the blankets fast asleep. 

 Davis and his lizard, Blaze.  We've had this lizard for almost 2 years and I've still yet to touch him.  Davis would sleep with  him every night and I can't even bring myself to touch him.  In fact, Davis lets Blaze climb all over him.  Davis loves all animals, but he is really interested in learning about reptiles. 

Arrow of Light

Sometimes I swear we just can't fit another thing in the boys schedules.  Especially this time of year, between football and school there just isn't a lot of time for much else.  But, Davis has kept up with  scouts and tonight he earned his Arrow of Light.  This is a big accomplishment, great job Davis!!

Old Photos

September has been a slow blogging month, and I haven't posted old photos for a long time so I've been looking through my pictures and found these ones.  I never believed it until I had kids, but time really does go so fast. 

Not when Big O is in there

Rocky was ahead by 1 in overtime, North Ogden was attempting an extra point to tie the game and send into a double overtime, not with my #75 in there!  Owen held his ground, made his block and stuck that big ol arm up and blocked that extra point right before it was caught by a North Ogden player. 

 That play was awesome, but seeing Owen so excited was even better.  He hopped screaming off the field.  One of the moments I will remember forever, seeing him so happy.  Those moments do a moms heart good!

This Kid

Davis hates my camera.  I don't get why, he is so dang cute.  He usually runs the other way when I pull it out, but I was faster than him this time.  I've got a couple pictures of Davis that will always be my favorite and this one is now one of them.  Dang, I love this kid.  He may know how to push my buttons more than the others and he may test his limits more than the others, but he is a fantastic kid!

 We had a pretty emotional week school/sport wise, and Davis needed a little extra TLC.  My friend, who has a son in his class and on his football team, and I went and picked up Subways and went and had lunch with our cute kids in the lunchroom.  The smile that came across his face as he saw me there, I will never forget.  I am choosing to remember that it was me that brought this smile to my little man's face and not the Subway sandwich in my hand. 

To be 5 again......

The question, if you could go back in time, would you?  I think right now, I would jump at the chance to be 5 again.  Gator is so happy and carefree and she just enjoys life.  I love that.  It sounds funny to look up to a 5 year old, but Gator is a fun loving, spirited, caring little girl and I could learn a lot from her.  She always wants to play Monopoly Jr. at least 4 times a day. 

 She has afternoon kindergarten, so shhhh we may stay up past bedtime sometimes coloring. 

 Last weekend her soccer game got canceled, she was bummed, but then took off her cleats and socks and went skipping off in all the puddles.

Just some thoughts

We've had quite a few storms the last week or so, and after every storm, Gator rushes outside to find her rainbow.  She climbed on top of the car and stared up at the sky.  Definitely my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. 

 I love the pictures I find on my phone after I've "misplaced" my phone.  I seem to lose my phone a lot these days, but it's not hard to catch the thief when this cute face is smiling at me when I finally find it and turn it on. 

 Friday was game day and the team had to dress up for school that day.  I looked at Owen, and it seemed as if the next 5 years were gone and I was looking at him as a missionary.  I may or may not have gone in the house and cried for a few minutes after he left. 

What we've been doing

I haven't posted in a while, but we are pretty routine lately.  The kids get up, go to school, and play soccer or football.  It is our fall routine, and we love it.  The oranges Ally ate this morning sure did what she said they would do.  She said she needed energy and she got it.  Way to go Gator, you played great!

Davis's football team is doing awesome!  They are a great little team, and they are having a spectacular season.  Davis is a tank and not much gets past him.  I think he gets quite a few kids scared of him.  He gets so excited and it seems to be so easy for him.  He plays hard and enjoys every second of it. 

Owen had a big change this year with football. He went from Rec. to the school team.  And boy is it different, but I think I am having a harder time with it than he is.  He actually has only practiced 1 day so far because he hurt his knee, but they had their first game on Friday and the team did amazing.  They won 46 to 0.  Even though he wasn't able to practice much, he got a ton of playing time.  Owen was very happy with how he did.  I was a ball of nerves, but he was so excited to be playing football again and got in there and got the job done.  He is #75
