Monster Trucks

Tonight we went to the Maverik Center for a monster truck show.  We've gone just about every year to some sort of monster truck show since Owen was just a couple of years old.  They are always entertaining and maybe that is what started my boys love of trucks.  I could totally see them driving a monster truck down the road.  "Get out of my way, my truck is bigger than yours."

Just for fun

Since Gator turned 11 yesterday, here is a picture of the three of them, all on their 11th birthday.

Gators Baptism

When Gator turned 8 in March, she made the decision to wait until Owen turned 16 to get baptized so he could be the one to baptize her.  She patiently went to her friends baptisms and prepared for her own.  Yesterday was the special day, and it was awesome.  We had a busy football weekend, but at 10:30 everyone took a break from their busy schedules to witness her be baptized.  It was perfect to be able to sit back and think about what is really important in life.  I love love love watching my kids find what they enjoy and support them in that, but this was different.  Football or soccer will sadly one day end, but Gators decision to be baptized is eternal and I loved the moment I had watching Owen take her by the hand and help her down the steps into the font and carefully say the baptism prayer and lay her down into the water.  I felt the spirit so strongly and I hope that my kids did as well because it was an amazing feeling.
I failed yesterday at taking pictures.  I feel terrible, I wanted to get a family picture and some of Gator with her grandparents, but it was crazy and I didn't get any so I took one of the kids today before church.  I was within 24 hours barely so it still counts.
Owen and Davis on their baptism days, sad thing is, I can remember these days as clear as Gator's just yesterday.

Green treat

2014 and 2016 Green milkshakes.  If we were going by color alone, McDonalds definitely looked a lot greener, and I love my mint so I'm voting McDonalds over Burger King when it comes to their St Patricks shakes.  How funny, Davis is wearing the same jacket Owen was 2 years ago.

St Patricks

Happy St. Patricks Day.  I am a sucker for tradition, and I am also a sucker for spoiling my kids rotten.  Sometimes I think they (the boys) have outgrown this kind of stuff, but then again I know they love it just as much now as they did when they were younger, and I still love doing fun things like this for all of them.  So I set up another scavenger hunt this year, and sat back and watched and took some pictures of the fun.
This year it was a little different.  First they had to open a bag and do the activity inside the bag before they could turn the bag over and read the next clue.

Don't Eat Pete.
 Leprechan names
Finding the 22 hidden gold coins
 Writing "love" notes
 Rolling lucky 7
Finding their green treat.  And apparently I like taking a picture on the stairs on St. Patricks Day, but I'm glad I was looking at old pictures tonight because look how dang cute these kids are!  And how dang fast they have grown up.  (I may or may not be crying a little right now)

School Spirit

This week is Red Ribbon Week for both the Elementary and the Junior High Schools.  All the kids are getting in the spirit of it and joining in the activities.  Today was crazy hair/sock day for Gator and Davis and as a Peer Leader Owen is in charge of the week at Rocky.  He was chosen as the student to dress up as the mascot.
It wasn't Owen's first go around as a mascot.  When I was bookfair chair he dressed up as the scholastic mascot, Clifford the Big Red Dog.

"Two"

Just looking at old pictures tonight.  Here are the kids when they were each two years old.  So long ago, but in my mind it is still as fresh as what I just did today.

Memory Lane

I spent the morning going down memory lane today.  Davis turned 11 last month and tomorrow Ally will be 6.  My oh my!  I love all the pictures I take, then I can go back and look at all the years and laugh and smile and remember.
