Davis just got back from another weekend trip with Kennedy's family. It is so not fair, he is doing tons of fun stuff without me. They went to Flaming Gorge for a fishing derby. Okay, I'm not terrible jealous about the fishing, but I've never been to Flaming Gorge. He had a great time, and was in the top three all weekend, until the very last day then he got bumped out, by Kennedy. He was a good sport, and said he had a great time.

West Haven Days
Gator and I were sick of unpacking and cleaning today. Davis was gone fishing, and Owen was out with friends, so we figured we should get to go out and play too. We ran a couple errands, then ended up at the park for West Haven Days. She met Sydney there and Averee found them later as well. We just walked around and got a treat. Of course we stayed for the fireworks as well.

She'll be happy here
It wasn't really warm enough to swim, but we've been busy unpacking all week, and Gator was dying to get into the pool. She will be spending a lot of time here. I better make sure we have lots of sunscreen and cold drinks.

Post op
Owen had his 2 week post op appointment today. That was a long 2 weeks with his splint, and now he has 3 in the cast. I guess it's looking good, despite him swearing he retore it. He definitely is grateful for two hands that normally both work.

Trash Car Racing
Games finished up this morning, but we still have one more night up in Logan so we were looking for something fun to do. Driving around Logan the last couple days, we saw signs for trash car races at the fairgrounds. Well, that sounded like something we'd all enjoy, so we hurried and let Gator swim for a bit, and got ready to go. Trash car racing is pretty much a demolition derby, which for some reason I love going to. I think the last week of packing, moving, emotions, and late nights all peaked tonight for Gator. She didn't feel good, and Davis was exhausted from basketball, but we still had a good time. The kids were wound higher than kites after, and the boys taught Gator how to steal street cones from the window as we were driving down the street. We made a late night stop at McDonalds and had a fun evening together than we came back to the hotel where the kids are all crashed and I'm going to go follow them.

Logan
We had to be out of the house yesterday. It has been a long emotional 6 months and it all was reality as we left the house yesterday for the last time. I'm kinda glad we had this basketball camp up in Logan this weekend to keep us busy, and also give us a place to stay for the weekend since we don't move into our apartment until Monday. Davis played really good in his games. He is such an aggressive player, and tends to bring a little of the football mindset into basketball. But it works for him and he plays some great defense. Owen realizes how much he misses his sports. He even admitted to missing basketball, I didn't think I'd ever hear him say he missed high school basketball. We've done some swimming, a little relaxing, late night shopping trips to Walmart, and of course a treat from the Aggie Creamery.

Surgery
Owen had surgery today. It was kind of a nice forced break from packing and cleaning. I sat in the waiting room for a couple hours and couldn't do anything. He was playing basketball with his friends, and it got a little too competitive. He tore ligaments in his thumb. We figured that now was a good time to fix this so he could recover before going and playing football. I can only imagine what kind of injuries that will bring. He was a bit upset when he came out, I guess they were having a football conversation in the operating room while they were putting him to sleep, and he doesn't know how the conversation ended. He said it was a good conversation, and he just fell asleep. The nurse assured him the conversation went on and he told Owen he missed out. That didn't help his frustration.

Summertime treat
Today we got a lot of packing and cleaning done. I owed Davis, Gator, and Kennedy a treat. We included Owen even though he didn't work at home, he had to work at the city tonight. Plus he is having surgery in the morning, so this was the last thing he got to eat until after that.

Cold Water Canyon Trail
I am a Utah person through and through. I love the seasons, and I love that we can just go 10 minutes and be in the mountains. Today we went hiking. We had planned on Waterfall canyon, but it was packed and the crowds are one thing I don't love about where we live. So we found another trail. It was beautiful, and very shaded. I love hiking in the shade and by rivers so this was a perfect hike for me. Owen was the only one smart enough to bring his hammock. I don't know why the rest of us didn't bring ours. Hike a little, nap a little, then hike some more. Oh well, we went exploring while Owen was hammocking.

Summer kick off
Layton City has a big summer kick off party. Food trucks, concerts, fireworks, the whole sha bang! Mat texted me and asked if Gator wanted to go with Parker and Afton to Mud and Suds. The fire department was at the park and they had a mud hill/pit that went into a big slip and slide full of bubbles. Of course she wanted to go, cousins and a fun time, she is always up for a party. We picked up Blake and Millie and met them there. We were going to go back for the fireworks, but we opted to hang out at Josh and Rachelles and roast smores. We could still see a few fireworks from their house, but the lightning was a better show.
