Davis scored some major brownie points tonight. He has been working in Willard by the fruit & veggie stands and he knows how much I LOVE fresh peas. They were so yummy.

Back to Hobbs Pond
Gator and I took Davis to Hobbs Pond tonight. He works all day during the week, so we make lots of mental notes when we find someplace that we want to share with him. It was warmer tonight than it was on Tuesday, but there is so much shade that it doesn't even matter. Joey remembered all the things that he liked to do along the way and he was happy to show Davis too.
Joey wanted to get to Davis and Gator so bad up in this tree. He did not like that they were somewhere that he was not.
Joey tried and tried his best, but he just couldn't get to where they were, so this had to do. He seemed proud of himself. Friday, June 19, 2020
Summer things
The cold front has moved on and it's hot. Perfect weather for swimming. And Krissy and PJ got Lagoon passes too, so yay more people to go play with!! The kids had a great time today at the pool. Lagoon is struggling with their crowd control in the park, it is just as busy as a normal summer day, but the pool was actually dead today. No one wanted to cool off in the water I guess, but instead wait in mile long lines for rides. Fine with us. I actually left Gator at in Kaysville, I had to work tonight and tomorrow, so she is sleeping over and going to Lagoon again tomorrow. They are Lagoon crazy.

Hobbs Pond
I have discovered so many new trails this year. Well, new to me. This one is just in Layton, and I think it might be a new favorite. It is a paved trail all around this little reservoir. There are tons of birds and so much shade. We found these cool stairs that led us down to the water, and into a beautiful woodsy area. I later was talking to Carrie about this trail, and she said lucky we didn't run into mountain lions. I guess there are mountain lions that live down there, but she also walks this path weekly. A cool front came in this morning with some rain and fantastic cool temps, so it was a great day to be outside. We even heard some thunder along the way, but only got a few drops of rain while we were out.

Poppies and Family Pictures
I've seen posts and articles about the poppy fields in Mantua for a few years, and I've thought oh I'll have to go next year. They only bloom for a few weeks in June, and this year I finally decided that I wasn't going to miss it again. Turns out it was the same field that we went to in October for our fall drive. The boys and I had just gotten haircuts last week, so I decided to check another thing off my to do list and attempt family pictures.
First just a couple of these beautiful flowers. We walked through the field, but there were a ton of people and Owen said you can't take pictures of dudes in flowers, so there were a few poppies along the road and scattered around the actual field and we took pictures there. Not nearly as many people, and not so may flowers for my dudes.
I think we got some really good pictures. I don't know how to photoshop or edit photos, so some have shadows, but everyone is looking, including Joey, and I'm happy with how they turned out. Good thing Krissy and her family came with us, she helped take pictures, and we got some really good ones of her family too.

Rocks
I read about a sidewalk in Layton that people paint rocks and set them along this sidewalk. I thought it sounded like fun so I recruited some friends to join me, so I didn't look weird painting rocks alone. It was actually a lot of fun.
This is my pile that I painted.
A few of my favorites. There were hundreds of rocks along the sidewalk, it was hard to pick just a few favorites.

We even got Owen to paint a rock.
We got rained on and hailed on as we delivered our rocks, but after a few minutes the sun was shining.A few of my favorites. There were hundreds of rocks along the sidewalk, it was hard to pick just a few favorites.

Family dinner in the rain
Sunday and it is still raining......a lot. It took a break for a couple hours today, just long enough for us to have dinner. I love getting together with my family, and I try to plan a dinner at least monthly. Today everyone of us made it, that hasn't happened for quite some time.
