All over the place

This blog post is so unorganized.  It is just some of everything.  The Jr. primary girls were invited to Young Womens last week.  They had a princess tea party, and Ally loved it!  They painted nails, and made crowns, did hair, and frosted cookies.
Last night we got home from TBall to a flooded kitchen.  I had the windows open letting in cool air, and it started to rain.  Well pour actually.  I looked at the mess and thought eh I'd rather go play in the rian than clean up this mess.  So we went back outside and walked in the rain.
The boys were out with friends the other night, so Ally and I had a girls night.  She painted our nails.  She was so excited that we matched.
Davis got off the bus yesterday and he had written all over his arm.  How could I get mad at him when he drew himself a mom tattoo.
It's not very often anymore that my kids crawl up in my lap and let me rock them to sleep.  I knew this would make for a late night, but in the moment I just didn't care, I was enjoying rocking my "baby".
Owen had his final choir concert of the year.  He has really enjoyed taking choir.  The teacher is an amazing man and teaches these kids alot more than just singing.  We ended the evening at Farr's.
Every day, Gator asks to go to the park to do the monkey bars.  She has blisters on her hands, but still wants to do the monkey bars.
Davis came home from scouts and they had made catapults.  Such a simple gadget, but my kids had so much fun with this thing shooting fruit snacks at each other, or in Davis's case at himself.  They may be soft, but I'm sure it still would've hurt if he had gotten himself in the eye.

TBall

We are not much of a baseball family.  But TBall, now that is my sport I've decided.  Everyone hits, everyone is happy, and the parents are all nice and chat and everyone wins.  Gator was so excited for her first game.  She waited all day on Tuesday for it to be here, waiting is not easy for a 5 year old.  After a quick power nap, the moment was here and she had a blast.

Sidelined

Owen had a small accident at school yesterday.  The school called me and said I would need to come get him to go get some stitches in his knee.  And on my way to the school, I got a text from Owen "I am such an idiot."  I did get a good laugh out of how he got hurt, although I don't think he's an idiot.  A class had built rockets and they were outside launching them yesterday during Owen's PE hour.  Owen was walking in to change and he was watching the rockets, not where he was going and walked right into a metal wagon that was outside.  He was laughing it off until Ryan told him no basketball for 2 weeks.  He's not laughing now!
The kids know how to play us, I admit.  We felt so sorry for Owen and having to get stitches that they got  dinner and a movie out of it.  Ally ordered off the kids menu, and look at that huge sundae that comes with the kids meal.  Next time, I am ordering from the kids menu.
What a nice sister.  She shared with her boys, at first it was just Owen cause he was hurt, but then she felt sorry for Davis too.
Davis thought he was so sneaky telling Ally "mom didn't get a good picture, you need to do it again."  I don't believe him for a second that he needed another bite for my sake.  He got the second spoon full of ice cream though, the little tease.

Simple Weekend

It was strange to have such a quiet weekend.  Owen had a game early Saturday and Gator had one right after him, but other than that it was very low key.  We went fishing with Deb on Saturday night.  Ally (with Owens help) was the only one that had any luck.
Davis hooked me.  Good thing I was wearing denim.
Sunday, I just couldn't hold Gator back any longer.  She has been begging to swim, so after church she talked Davis into playing outside in the sprinklers with her.  I had a nice hap in the sun.
Gator has been working so hard at the monkey bars.  She is so excited she can go all the way across now by herself.

Our Days

Lots of things keep us busy here. The kids keep me busy running around, but they are also who I want to be with when we have some down time.  For spring ball, Owen is on 2 teams.  So he usually has basketball Monday, Wednesday and Saturday with some training on Friday evenings.  Davis has games on Monday evening, and he also goes to the same training on Friday evenings.
Their teams are doing fantastic this session.  And I see the boys loving it and really developing their talents.
Spring soccer has started and there goes #6 running down the field to score a goal!
I had to snap a quick picture of this kid that thought he could push Davis around, well look who ended up on the ground.  The kid hit a brick wall and went flying.  And the basket...2 pts!
We had some down time last night.  Owen just got a new Xbox game, so we ended the evening with some bowling.  I know I'm old, but games are so different from the Atari I had as a kid.  I loved the game Linking Logic.  Owen just picked up a spare here....
 Davis missed his turkey.....
Gator was on a strike streak!
I am a bit worried I need to get Ally into some counseling to learn how to deal with stress better.  I walked in her room the other day and saw this......I asked her why she put her baby in a ziploc bag.  She said because she was crying.
But her love affair with baby animals continues.  When we have time after school we have to stop by the pond on the way home so she can see the baby ducks.
Bella gets read to daily, dressed up, or chased, or shot at with nerf guns.  The poor dog, she puts up with a lot.  But she gets lots of cuddles and kisses as well.
Owen leaves for school at about 7:10 and Davis at 8:05, and I have a sad little girl if she doesn't wake up in time to see her boys off to school.  She is going to have no problem waking up next year for kindergarten.
Owen may be a bit obsessed, this is his table by the bed.  He loves the fact that in Junior High he has been able to choose what he reads.  Although his English teacher did tell him no more football books.
And this is the floor in Davis's bathroom.  He also has his own obsession.
Field trip to the Tree House Museum.

Blake and Ally are such cute friends.
Waiting for Owen to come out of school.
We fill lots of our time with homework.    So much is expected of students that there is a ton of homework.  Kids are so much smarter now than I am/was so in 4th grade, I am pretty much useless to help.   Davis and his buddy Trey are entering an egg drop contest.
Monkey climbing the tree out front.
Davis takes good care of Blaze.  He even bathes him.
Do not disturb.  The NFL draft is better than Christmas or his birthday for Owen.  I tried asking questions about what was going on, but I was just bugging him, so I haven't even tried to talk to him anymore.

Another celebration

Mom retired from Davis County this month.  Today we all took her and Colin to lunch and enjoyed a fun afternoon together.   Rachelle took this picture of us kids with mom.  Some families have those cookie cutter kids that all look exactly the same, I've never thought any of us looked alike.  And I still say where did the blonde hair come from?  Enjoy your retirement mom, you deserve it.  And we all need to get together again soon, Josh is a college graduate!!  Whoot whoot.  Congrats!
