We started our Thanksgiving off this morning with a football game. It snowed quite a bit in Ogden last night, but not in Layton, where we played. It was chilly though, but layers were still shed throughout the 2 hour game. It remained pretty calm, which I was surprised about, I have some very competitive kids, but they behaved and everyone had a fun time.

Stow Aways
We had an honors field trip at the Jr. High yesterday. My students get the chance to go on these fieldtrips, and I get to go along for free and still get paid. It's a win win. This field trip was the zoo, so I let Gator skip school and join us and it just so happened that Owen had a doctors appointment scheduled for the day as well, so it just made sense for me to drive to the zoo instead of the bus so I could stop in Bountiful on the way home and go to his appointment. And since I was going through that for his appointment, I may as well just bring him along to the zoo too. So Owen and Gator joined me with my class while Davis popped up once in awhile and visited for a quick moment then was off again with friends.
These 3 monkey's had their tails intertwined it was cute, I had to point to out to my kids how much these monkey siblings love each other......they didn't really care.

Some random pictures
Owen sent me this picture a couple weeks ago, I just have to laugh. He makes the college football player look tiny.
On Wednesday's the elementary is out early. I don't get off work until an hour after Gator gets out of school. Her best friend is her teachers daughter, and Gator is a teachers pet. I got this picture sent to me, they were watching a movie and eating popcorn.
Davis has been on the NAL team. I am so proud of my kids for being so brave and trying whatever it is that they want to do.
It's that time of year when packages arrive in the mail. Shaking, feeling, even smelling the packages still don't give away what is inside.
Our first Christmas treat and movie. I love this tradition.
The first quarter is already done and school and look at these grades! The boys got the exact same GPA. They make school look so easy, I remember having a much harder time in my classes then what they seem to.
We had an unexpected free evening last night. Gator and I decorated her room for Christmas, now I wonder if this will help her to sleep in her own room.

He is so excited
Davis hasn't quit talking about skiing since last ski season. Every day all year long he has mentioned skiing. The kid is obsessed. Today we took a drive up to Snowbasin to get his season pass and to check it out. The excitement is only heightened now in anticipation for November 25th. 2 1/2 weeks, I think he will explode.
I can tell that not a single one of them is smiling, they just don't get me.
I obviously didn't plan for the weather up there.

Happy Halloween
It was a busy week celebrating Halloween. We spent a fun evening at Frightmares on Monday. It was not crowded at all and the kids got to right a lot of their favorite rides. Owen caved into peer pressure and went in a haunted house. They came out and the boys talked Ally, Rachelle, and I into going with them again. I did not like it at all and poor Blake got pushed through it by me running behind him.
Friday the boys were at the Fremont/Davis game. Gator and I went to Lagoon again hoping it wouldn't be crowded, but everyone had the same idea, but we still had a great time. Fremont beat Davis out in the first round of playoffs. Owen was quite excited for his team, Davis had been undefeated until last night, Fremont won by 1 point.
The boys had plans today, but I told them that after basketball this morning, I got them for a couple hours for some Halloween fun. We carved our pumpkins and had a Halloween lunch before Owen went to a Utah game with Chris, and Davis went trick or treating with a couple of friends. Ally and I went to Kaysville and went trick or treating with cousins. We all had a great holiday, and we have enough candy to last through the winter. If we have a really cold snowy winter where we can't go to the store for food, we will be okay with the kids' Halloween candy.

Sugar
We didn't have school today, so after my training, we went to Layton to revisit an activity we used to do all that time when the kids were younger. We haven't decorated Halloween sugar cookies in years, and it was fun to bring it back this year.

October mish mash
Owen had a doctors appointment last week, we came out to a sudden rainstorm and this beautiful rainbow. It is hard to tell in the picture, but it was actually a triple rainbow. We drove to a higher spot, so we could see it better. After every rainstorm, I look for rainbows.
Davis has taken all the ease out of ramen noodles. He uses quite the mixture of spices, it sure smells nasty, but he loves to mix things and make new flavors.
Owen and Collin went to a football game, and we pulled up to pick up Collin and he slapped this magnet on the car. Owen thought it was awesome.
I took the day off work and went with Ally on a fieldtrip. Besides the hour bus ride, we had a great time. Last night we went to get Ally a couple pair of pants for the colder weather, and she insisted on getting a pair of overalls. I laughed because I wore overalls when I was young. But she had a very good reason for needing these pants, the fieldtrip was to the American Heritage Center in Wellsville and she heard they would get to milk a cow and was sure they were going to a farm so she thought she needed the overalls.
I must be feeling brave in my old age. I asked around and found a horror movie that wasn't supposed to be too scary that I could watch with the kids. Well, "not too scary" is a relative term and I hid under my blanket for some of this one. We had fun though, it didn't even phase the boys at all. Maybe it was the caramel corn, but I'm sure that it is just that I'm a big scaredy cat.
Davis and Gator started basketball season. Football is done, and it's getting cooler outside so, so it's time to more inside. Owen is taking a forced break. What we thought was his meniscus actually is his ACL and he has some healing to do before he can play sports and it is killing him.

As we are changing seasons and sports and moving into the last 2 months of 2015, life keeps moving and I try to slow down and enjoy everything.
