Dave and Sheila's ward is going on a family trek. Davis is going to go with them, he wants to have the experience. Hoping to get the families excited for the trek, there is a handcart that families are walking around the neighborhood and dropping off in another families yard, for them to then walk it around and give it to someone else the next day. The kids thought it was awesome and loved helping in the game. Dave picked a family that lives at the top of the hill, so they pulled it all the way up the hill then had races down the hill back to the house.

Road Trips
It was Gator's turn this year to go on a roadtrip with Dave and Sheila. They took Gator, Lucy, and Jean to St George for a night. At this age, neither the kids or grandparents can handle much more then a night. Actually Sheila said the girls didn't fight at all, just got a little homesick is all. They stayed in a hotel with a pool, (which for Gator would have been enough that was her favorite part), went to Tuacahn to see Peter Pan, ate lots of ice cream, visited Grandma Stewart, and also stopped at Cove Fort on the way home. For the last few years, Gator knew this summer would be her turn, and she's been waiting and so excited to be the one to get to go on a trip with Grammy & Bahkey. I love that Stewarts do this with their grandkids every summer.
While Gator was gone, the boys and I took a little road trip of our own. Just for the day, but it was still awesome and so beautiful. Owen needs to practice canyon driving a little so we drove up to Causey. I've never actually been to Causey, and we are planning a paddle board day next week, so I wanted to check it out. We stopped at a place to eat lunch called Eats of Eden and had some yummy pizza, and of course stopped at Zeppes for dessert.

When it's 100+ degrees
Boy, it is hot! Today we retreated to the movie theater. Tuesday is discount day, so we spent a couple hours indoors in the air conditioning watching Finding Dory. Before we went to the movie, my neighbor texted me and told me his pool was open and to bring the kids down for a swim later. Don't have to ask me twice, anything to cool down. Davis is not a big fan of swimming, but even him and Gavon joined us for a bit. Poor Owen had to go to work, so he was out in the heat at a softball tournament. Sorry Owen, it sure felt good.

Exhaustion
When more then one thing is going on and you really can't pick between them, you just got to both! This weekend was so fun, it was West Haven Days, and also the air show up on base. All this made for an exhausting, but so fun day!!

Camps
All the kids had a camp this week. It was Fremont's and Rocky's team camps, and Gator had an art camp all week. I had a perfect plan made, so I'd be able to watch both boys scrimmage and make it back for Gator's art show, but Owen had to go and get hurt, so I didn't even get to watch him play at all. He has a collarbone injury that will keep him out for a few weeks, but then he'll be back at it. They keep me busy and running from one place to the next, but I sure love these kids of mine!

A whole lotta random
Owen sharing important life stories with Jace.
Owen had a football camp at the fair grounds, right across from the pound. We became regulars at the pound visiting the dogs. Davis and Gator thought for sure they could talk me into bringing one home, but this is one area I have no problem remaining strong in, we are not going to ever get another dog.
The other evening we were all home and it was so hot in the house, we went outside. I love times like this where we have nothing to do and we can just play together.
Always a hungry kid, but after football, we got some pizza for lunch.
Ally is still the neighborhood go to pet babysitter. She had Gilbert for a month and was a fabulous babysitter. She had to recruit Davis to take care of Kya though, she is just a little too strong for Gator, but Davis loves this dog and took care of her every day for 2 weeks. And he thought that would help him break down my wall, but I still remained strong.
Playing at the splash pad. It is a very hot summer so far, and the cold water feels so good.
Davis got a GoPro camera for Christmas, he loved taking it skiing, but he's also found it's fun to play with underwater.
This picture may not look special to anyone else but myself. Davis and Gator are actually playing together instead of fighting. They actually jumped together on the neighbors trampoline every evening while they let Kya out to use the bathroom. I had to take a picture just to prove that they could get along.
Lineman challenge for Fremont. Owen is just loving the fact that it is football season. Nothing else he'd rather be doing then getting ready for football.
The boys basketball coach has a new gym. It is a fun place to just go hang out. The boys play pick up games and Gator finds ways to amuse herself.
With the money Gator made from taking care of Gilbert, she bought herself a new trampoline. Ours has been broken so she'd jump on Franks. I told her I just couldn't afford a trampoline right now with sports and school, so she decided she would save her money and buy one. She had some help putting it in the cart, but she walked right up to the cash register and paid for her trampoline.
The kids have destroyed our house enough, so now they are working on the neighbors. While we are house sitting, none the less. But thank you to Dave and Chad for fixing it good as new, better actually. My neighbor had no problem with us breaking a hole in the wall, when it gets fixed so well. She actually has a little list of jobs she'd like Dave and Chad to complete. It's their fault for doing such a good job.
Treats of summer. We are addicts of Hokulia shaved ice and Zeppes. One of the camps Owen was doing was right by Zeppes, he was pretty excited when he had a gelato waiting for him in the car after a hot sweaty workout but, I started something I had to continue with each of the 5 sessions. Oh well, if the kids got one so did I. Still having fun with Snapchat, even during Sunday School. Tsk tsk Owen.
The boys were out with friends, so Gator and I had a girls night. That chicken bacon artichoke pizza was delicious!
I check my bank account every day, hoping somehow there was a mysterious deposit made and I am now rich, but never did I expect the very opposite. Someone had used my card number and my pin all over California. Luckily the bank refunded all the money, but I still hate dishonest people.
Watching movies at Stewarts can get pretty loud. The louder the volume on the TV, the louder people think they have to talk so they can be heard. One night, Gator and I just couldn't take the noise and we went for a walk. She loves flowers and saw some in the hollow, I figured since they were in the hollow, it was okay for her to pick some to bring home.
Another spoiled child with a cold treat waiting for them in the car after football. Okay so maybe snowcones and getlato's aren't our only addictions. I'm not alone in these addictions though.

The sun is out
Just a week ago, I took Gator to Cherry Hill and it was cold and rainy, but what a difference tonight. It was over 100 degrees today, and we didn't have much time after football camps and art camp, but it was just enough time to cool off and have a really fun evening.
