Surprise 70th

My siblings and I have been planning a surprise party for my dads 70th birthday since about February.  It turned out better than we could have ever planned.  I've never seen my dad cry and he was so thrilled to have all that could make the trip there for his birthday.  It was an awesome day.  We left on Friday and had an appointment at the Cedar City temple.  We took Eden and Lucy with us, and Mat stopped for Connor and Josh stopped for Millie and Blake.  Dave and Sheila came over from Milford to go with us.  The wind was insane.  Like knocking people over insane.  But the temple always protects us and it was the same with the wind.  It is kinda weird, Gator is almost done with her goal, I know she will keep going as much as she can, she loves the temple, it is her favorite place to be.

After the temple, Dave & Sheila took us to Sizzler for dinner and we visited with Dave's brother for a bit since we were in Cedar City.  The girls and I stayed in Milford.  It was way cheaper for us to make the drive back and forth than it was to get a hotel so we stayed up late and watched a chick flick.
My dad was doing a Farmers Market Saturday morning which was actually perfect.  And he was set up in a perfect spot because his back was turned to us, so we were able to all gather right behind him without him even knowing we were there.  It was such a fun surprise.  I've never seen dad cry, I can tell this meant so much to him and it was awesome.
After the Farmers Market, we went back to Dads for lunch.
It was still pretty windy, and actually not very hot.  I was scared to go down south in the summer, I think Heavenly Father gave me a tender mercy with a beautiful unseasonal cool day.  The kids still wanted to swim though, so we crashed Josh & Rachelle's hotel pool and let the kids swim all afternoon.

We ended the party day at the park with dinner.  My dads sisters came and some of Dianne's kids.  There was a very serious corn hole tournament, yummy food, and great company.  I am so glad so many of us could be there to help dad celebrate his birthday!

With Krissy and Rachelle

We've made our own little goal.  We want to go to the temple together in June, July, and August.  Gators goal is helping so many individuals.

Willow wasn't a fan

Tonight Gator and I went to get Joey and take him and Willow to the river.  We thought she would be so excited to get her cone off and be able to run and play that she would love the water, but she was not a fan.  She was pretty much a Debbie Downer the whole time we were at the river.  Joey had fun though.

Early, but still a happy birthday

Kylee is having a birthday June 22nd.  With work and football schedules, we celebrated by going up to Pocatello today.  Kylee loves the zoo, aquariums, farms, and pretty much anything to do with animals.  Kin couldn't go which was a bummer, but the rest of us had a great time in Idaho Falls.  The zoo up there is little, but it is a great zoo.  I wish the flamingos had been out, but it is still a little cool for them I guess.  But the rest of the animals were active and fun to see.  In between we got some quick lunch at McDonalds so we didn't ruin our appetites for Tokyo Belly later on which is what Kylee chose to have for her celebration dinner.  Now with Kylee and Kin in our family, we have a couple more summer birthdays instead of just winter ones.  More time spent hanging out together, which is always first thing on my to do list.

Owen definitely was not going to go in with the birds.
This was cool.  These fish suck the dead skin off your hands.  It felt good, a little weird, but good.
The 3 of them fed the iguanas.

Payson, Oquirrh Mountain, and Jordan River Temples

I love Gator's goal.  It has been so amazing to go to all the temples.  I love how it has made me more motivated to go to the temple myself, I've been more this year I think than I have my whole life, and it has been awesome.  Thank you Gator for being such a good example to me.  We had a busy day today as we went to 3 temples.  It wore the girls out, but what a neat experience to do it together.
And of course I love the treats!

Chalk Art

It was a perfect summer evening tonight to go to the chalk art festival in Bountiful.  It wasn't too hot, but still warm enough for us to play in the splash pad.  I took Krissy and PJ's kids -Dallin because he had to work and Josh and Rachelle met me in Bountiful.  The artwork was phenomenal like it is every year, so much talent.  I narrowed my favorites down to 5 this year.
