Shades

I'm continuing what I started last year and posting old pictures. Some things I just want to remember or some pictures just need to be posted. Owen always had on a hat and sunglasses. Even in the shower or bed he had on a hat. All my kids have liked their sunglasses though. I hate to be without my glasses though, so I guess they take after me.

Yummy Treat

I've been somewhat addicted to Pinterest lately. And I'm actually trying some of the things I pin. Funny thing, I pin tons of cleaning tips and homemade cleaners, but none of those have been tried yet in my home. But the treats, now those we are all over:). Tonight we made Wendy's frosty's. After all the work of going to the store twice and driving to Layton to borrow Krissy's icecream freezer I think Owen was right. It would've been cheaper to go to Wendy's and just buy us a frosty, but it's all for the experience right.
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
16oz. coolwhip
chocolate milk (the recipe asks for a gallon, but you'd have to have a really big ice cream freezer to fit all that in)

New Friends

We enjoyed the nice weather today and went to a fishing pond. Ally found about 20 new friends at the pond. She ran up to the ducks, and yelled "Hey ducks, I have bread", like she knew they could understand her. They didn't speak her language, so she switched to duck mode and fit right in with them quacking around the park.

Blurry, but funny

Basketball has been taking up our time the last few months, and Davis had a game this morning. It was a tough one. One, the other team is a good team and two, all the kids on the other team are friends from the same school and alot are in the same class as Davis. In the end we came out on top, but this picture I got is so funny. Davis is a pretty aggressive player, and even though he would never punch a friend it looks like he is winding up to slug his buddy on the other team. My friend (this boys mom) and I had a good laugh when we saw this picture.

Took a tumble

My kids get hurt the funniest ways. They are big rough and tough athletic busy boys, but they never get hurt playing sports it's things like falling out of bed, or the shower, or as in Owens case falling down the stairs. Although he did have a little help from Davis. I don't know what caused the fight in this case, but Owen got a shoe chucked at him, and it caused him to fall down the stairs. He says it's not so bad, everyone does everything for him. What a lazy terd!

Happy hearts day

Valentines day. When one kid is in preschool and another in 6th grade it is a big event and anticipated for weeks. Owen had his first school dance today. He talked about it for a month, and worried about getting his dance card filled up and called me yesterday at the store to buy him some "smell good spray". He texted me at 5:30 this morning saying he was up for the day. So I knew with the early morning and the anticipation of the dance there would be a crash later in the evening. And boy was there ever, but he had a blast at the dance. So much in fact that he just came upstairs right now (sleep walking) talking about his dance card and the dance. Funny kid. I was only able to go over to the school for a few minutes because I was helping at Ally's preschool party this morning also. Her valentines were made and signed about 2 weeks ago. And I had to tell the poor girl no every day for that 2 weeks when she asked me if it was Valentines day. I love my children, but I am not cut out to be a preschool teacher. I don't mind helping when needed, but I am grateful for her fabulous teachers that are made for the job. I had a headache and was sweating buckets at the end of the 2 hours. Poor Davis just had a regular day. No dances or parties to attend. Every year I tape hearts on my kids doors for Valentines, so Davis is here to show us his door. He was feeling left out. Now he has made my blog post on Valentines. I love my 3 little Valentines, they are sweet kids, and I smile every day because I have been blessed with them in my life.

Spring Fever

I don't really know how the kids could have spring fever this year, because we haven't had a winter at all. From fall, we went right into spring. Sunny and warm and hardly a storm at all. But it is still a mental frame of mind I guess. They have been outside playing a lot lately riding 4 wheelers and bikes and walking up and down the street looking for friends to hang out with. And I just love how Ally can be a princess and join the boys in their activities. Although maybe her princess dress isn't the best choice for riding 4 wheelers. I'm not going to be the one to tell her, there are even things I don't dare do!

When we're bored

So this is what happens when my kids and I are bored. It was a pretty mellow weekend, and we just aren't used to that. Carrie brought over a little craft project for them to work on, so we got stickers and stuff out and it just got them sticking and cutting and gluing. I still can fool Davis and Ally, but Owen just thinks I am a complete dork!

Tears were shed

It was the big day...Superbowl Sunday. A day looked forward to all year long in my house. The Patriots and the Giants were the teams this year. And you all know how Owen feels about his Patriots. After a very close, intense game the Giants came out with the win. And we had some very sad disappointed kids. Obviously these pictures were taken before the game. There were no smiles at the end of the evening.

Woke up to a room full of balloons
He was able to show Blaze off to his class
Cookies for his class
Favorite Subway sandwich instead of school lunch
A birthday party at Get Air
And dinner at The Pizza Place

Sounds like a great day to be 9!!! Love you so much Davis. Happy Birthday.

Moments like these

Moments like these are rare in my house, but when I see them I smile inside and out.

Watching my back!

The things you have to do when your mom helps with the book fair at the school. I am pretty sure Owen will seek revenge for this later in life. Actually I really think he thought dressing up like Clifford (who is the scholastic mascot) was kinda funny. He is a good sport.

Happy Birthday!

Today I am another year older. I am now 34. I am going to have to say that quite a few more time to get used to the sound. 34, 34, 34. Man! I know I have fabulous friends, but I got tearful this morning when I pulled out of my garage to take D Stew to his basketball game. My friends brought over balloons sometime during the night so I could be greeted first thing on my birthday. I was gone all day with my great family. Thank you! I got home later in the evening and there was another banner placed in my yard wishing me a happy birthday. I'm going to have to get used to being 34 sooner than later, because now everyone knows it was my birthday! Thank you friends and family I had a good birthday.

They do grow up

Look at this paper, Rocky Mountain Jr. High!!!!! Owen came home from school today, with paperwork for JR. HIGH. Oh my gosh, he is going to be in Jr. High next year. I may or may not have cried while I filled out his schedule for next year.

No more secrets

Davis has been wanting a lizard for years. My response has always been "eeewwww", which translates to no... never. I don't know what got into me this year, but Davis lucked out. I really did it, I got him a lizard. Ally went shopping with me. The secret lasted about 4 hours, but didn't make it through the evening. Poor girl was in tears she was so upset she let out the secret. Davis was in tears because he was SO excited that his own mother had gotten him a lizard. So here he is (a week early) Blaze, Davis's leopard gecko. Eeewww!

"P" Day

Preschool is so much fun. Where else can a little girl wear her Pajamas eat Pancakes and make a Pig nose?

5 star review

For Christmas Dad and Dianne gave us this hershey kiss fondue kit. We dipped graham crackers, marshmallows & rice krispie treats. (Confession they also gave us a whole bowl of pecans from the orchard. They said those tasted delicious dipped in chocolate, but somehow the pecans just didn't last long enough to try it. No naming names though on who ate them ALL). Such a simple thing, that makes for such a fun evening. I love simple family fun. Thanks for the great gift, it will be used well around here, my kids are chocoholics!!

Notice the ball in Davis's hand. I told you, it is permanent. No joke, he is NEVER with out a ball.

Heating the outside!!

All my kids were upstairs in my room this afternoon lounging around. They were so excited that the rain had finally turned to snow, they were all screaming and yelling. I needed a quiet break, so I went downstairs to do some laundry, yes I was that desperate. As I walked down the stairs, it felt like a freezer. Ok, all my kids were upstairs mind you and this is what I found as I came downstairs. I know I am not the only one with kids that leave doors open, but during a snow storm come on.

Movie with friends

With Disney bringing Beauty and the Beast back to theaters in 3D, it gave the girls a perfect day to have a princess day! Ally and her friend Lilly both love this movie, and they both love dressing up and getting all girly & fancy. My friend did Ally's hair all up and cute. I don't know how to do fancy hairstyles, but I just may have to learn, because Ally loved it. These 2 cute girls (and us moms) had a great afternoon out on the town!!
