It was another hot day today and we cooled off at Cowabunga. We don't make it here very often, but it's a fun afternoon when we do.

Do over
So yesterday, and every 3rd Sunday in July, was National Ice Cream Day. I wasn't prepared yesterday, so today we went to the store and picked up some ice cream so we could celebrate today. Thank goodness for do overs!!

What he loves
Owen, has had a busy summer with camps and 7 on 7's and training. He loves his football and would be happy playing it year round. But his time is coming up, it is football season and he couldn't be happier.
Him and Collin went down to Camp Williams and participated in a camp together. He thought it was so cool, they got to play paint ball and do a zip line and a falling tower thing and a bunch of other drills with some NFL players. Owen was on cloud 9. The emphasis of this camp was team leadership and that a team is a brotherhood. He has told me some pretty neat stories that he was told and I hope he learns from them. The mental side of sports is so important, and that is what these men wanted to teach the boys that participated.
He had 7 on 7's two weekends in a row. No pads just basically two hand touch.
He is #75 again this year, I'm sure you could've guessed that just by looking at the picture. He went to Fremont's week long football camp. They had a day where they scrimmaged some of the Jr. High teams that they will be playing in the fall. And just cause he's such a dork, his selfie with Sadie the Llama.

Going Along
Last night was the annual Surf n Swim party for Krissy & PJ's, Mom & Colin's, and Josh & Rachelle's ward. My kids and I go along every year, their ward has some very nice people in it and we are always welcomed by their ward members.
Lu and her peeps. She has such a big fan club. We all love our Lu.

Teenagers.....that is all I have to say about these two turkey butts. They hate my camera.
And where was cute D Stew last night? The crazy kid had another camp out. He was home for one day and gone again. He loves camping and didn't want to miss out on his scout camp out. Him and Trey have been best buds since kindergarten. Friends like him are irreplaceable. Thursday, July 17, 2014
Camping trip
The kids and I are just getting back from a camping trip. We had a fabulous time and I have no idea how I am going to pick which pictures to post. We went up to Moosehorn Lake. It is in the high Uinta's right across from Mirror Lake. I've never been up there, but I fell in love. Most definitely the prettiest place in the state of Utah. I could spend the whole summer up there, if I just had a shower and toilet. But the lack of those 2 things did not keep us from having a great trip. We got up there Tuesday afternoon and set up camp. Gator put on her suit and went for a swim while the boys fished. The air was quite a bit cooler and the water was downright freezing, so she didn't last too long, but she had her bike so all was well in her world. The boys tried so hard, but they didn't even catch one fish. They were bummed. Owen said it was a failure fishing trip, but a successful camping trip. I loved spending time with my kids with no distractions, I really do have some great kids and I am one lucky mom.
I did Ally's hair in braids before we left thinking it would be easier to not have to do her hair while we were camping. Well, it was easier on me, but the poor girl got her braids caught in the zipper of the tent 3 times.
This was taken the first day, my shower from home was still effective. I stayed away from the camera for the rest of the trip.
I had taken the goggles not knowing if the kids would want them for the lake. Well, they didn't really swim because it was so chilly, but those goggles still came in very handy.
3 sizes of mallows. Big for roasting, medium for smores and little ones for hot chocolate.
They look peaceful now, but the first night was really rough. The wind blew really hard and none of us got much sleep. By the second night they were asking to go to bed and everyone slept much better.
Walking around/fishing on Mirror Lake
Gator loved all the wild flowers. Her and I walked through them as the boys fished.
Her 5 minutes of fishing. She is too much like her mom...not patient enough for fishing.
Deb came with us. She was fun to camp with, and knew her way around the campground.

A quick run down the canyon for ice and wood turned a little longer than quick when we were stuck behind a cattle run.
As we were heading home, Davis spotted a beautiful waterfall...Provo Falls.Sunday, July 13, 2014
