Busy boys

Speaking earlier of the crazy busy that is life, I was talking about days like today.  We started at 8 am with basketball and ended at 8pm with football.  I'm so grateful for the coaches my kids have and the many opportunities they have to participate in the things they love.

School ball is done, and although Owen is conditioning for football already and participating in track he wants to still play some basketball so he's playing on a team that Davis's coach has for 10th grade.  This coach is amazing and he really builds my boys up and knows how to get them to preform their best.  Davis also began a new league today with his same CBA team.  I think this is his favorite team, he's played on.  They don't always win, but they play great together, and he's learning a lot.
After basketball, we went to Ogden for football.  The boys started working with Emmett about 8 years ago.  He sees so much in them, and he encouarges them and coaches them and gives them so many great opportunities that they wouldn't otherwise have and we are forever grateful for him.

I love these kind of evenings

Activities like this are my favorite.  I love just hanging out and enjoying simple activities with my kids.  After the quick fishing trip the other night, Davis wanted to go fishing again.  We decided to go to Syracuse, we've never been there before and I think it's now my favorite fishing pond.  It was beautiful and so peaceful there.  We stopped at a few of our favorite food places to get dinner and ate at the park, then we fished and few kites and blew bubbles.  The sun was beginning to go down, so we took a quick walk around the pond and called it a night.  We need quiet easy going times like this to balance out the crazy busy of everyday life.

Jumbled post

Time for another cleaning out of my random picture file on my computer.

Davis enjoying some spring skiing with his friend Dylan.  He's a bit sad the season is coming to an end, but he's got his longboard to fill his time.
Taco Tuesday.  We went to see Zootopia.  It was a very funny movie, the sloths made me laugh so much.  After the movie, Frank wanted to go get tacos for Taco Tuesday.
Gator found the  pink sponge rollers in the bathroom cupboard.  I remember when my mom would put pink sponge rollers in our hair every Saturday night for church the next day.  We would take a bath and then watch Love Boat while my mom put our curlers in.
We had a family dinner and the deck was reserved for the boys.  They needed their own space for boy talk and boy jokes.
Gator had a fun craft day with our friend Karma.  Karma is our neighbor that has been one of Gators best friends since she was born.  Karma has 3 teenage boys, and she's always loved having some girl time.
I just thought this picture was funny.  Thank goodness for phones, they help these brothers actually get along without actually knowing it.
Gator has been going to her friends baptisms.  She decided to wait to get baptized until this fall when Owen turns 16 and can baptise her, but she has many good examples in her friends and she is loving supporting them in their important life step.
It was getting late the other night, but the kids wanted to go fishing.  They had to do some quick organizing of the tackle box since it's been winter, so we only had about 30 minutes before it got dark, but they enjoyed getting out to the pond again now that it's spring.  I had a not so enjoyable evening though after being chased and bit (in the rear end) by an angry possesive goose.  I guess he didn't want people coming to his pond after the long winter.  It gave the boys a good laugh and Gator a good scare, and next time I'm bringing a bat.

Back for another season

Lagoon opened today for the 2016 season, and we were there enjoying another afternoon together.  Crazy to think we've had passes for 14 years now.  I never would've thought we would be such Lagoon groupies, but we really do have so much fun going to Lagoon every year.  It is a typical Utah spring and we started off with sunshine and blue skies, but soon clouds moved in and it was snowing.  Huge, heavy, wet flakes.  The kids were stuck on Cannibal while it was snowing and came off freezing, so that pretty much ended our day at Lagoon, but that is okay, we will be back for more fun.
Owen was going to go with us to Lagoon, but the opportunity to go down to BYU for a tour and spring scrimmage came up and he couldn't turn down a chance to go check out the school.  It's insane that we are at that point in life, where he is looking at colleges.  He would love to play college football, and he looks great in that BYU jersey!  He had an awesome day, but next time we go to Lagoon, he better go play with us.

Secret Bunnies

I found this cute poem and decided we would egg some neighbors.  I texted Owen earlier in the month and asked him if he wanted to egg some neighbors ( I sent him a copy of the poem).  Well, he thought I was talking about real egging, he got pretty excited.  We each picked a family in our neighborhood and filled eggs with candy.  Tonight we went and hid all the eggs, hopefully some of our neighboors will be very excited when they wake up and find the basket & poem on their porch.
Gator wrote about what we were going to do for the holiday at school.  I was surprised she didn't get in trouble and take me down with her.  That is clearly her and I in the picture, and she said we were going to egg neighbors.
Heading out, I hope we don't get caught.
We went to have hot fudge sundaes to celebrate not getting caught.
