Davis went to the Boise State football camp over the weekend, so we went up a few days early for a small vacation. We went up Wednesday evening. All we had time for that night was dinner and the pool for Gator. Dinner was at a place called Big Judds. They had an eating challenge, that with a little embarrassment to admit, Owen won. We all about lost our dinner as we watched him polish it off, but he actually did okay until he got to the tomatoes and pickles. Those just about ended the whole thing for him.
Thursday we woke up and I had bought tickets to a water park that Davis has wanted to go to since we first saw it 8 years ago when we were up in Boise. It is called Roaring Springs, and it was a blast. I was so scared on a couple of the slides, but thanks to peer pressure, I can say that I did them. Gator was a little nervous after her and Owen flipped over on a slide. Renting a cabana was the way to go. We had a waiter all day and shade and chairs for when we needed a rest. The boys loved relaxing, I didn't get much relaxing though because Gator chased from one end of the waterpark to the next until we finally had to drag her out of the place.
After the waterpark, we got take out for dinner and chilled in the hotel room for the rest of the evening. Friday we got up and the boys wanted to go fishing. We stopped at the Boise Temple for a quick grounds visit, then we drove to Swan Falls Dam. It is on the Snake River, and the kids fished there for a little bit with no luck. They were pretty bummed, but still said they had fun. There used to be a show called Man vs Food. He went all over the United States doing food challenges. Last time we were up in Boise, we ate at Flying Pie pizza, a place the boys had seen on the show. That is the one place they wanted to revisit, so we went there for dinner after fishing, and a trip to Cabela's.

Saturday the boys all took a long time to get up and going. But the camp was starting and I wanted to get in a trip to the zoo. They finally got themselves out of bed and we went to the Boise Zoo, and did a little more fishing, this time on the Boise River with still no luck dang it. The boys love to fish, it isn't my first choice, but I will go if they want to go. Davis started the camp Saturday evening, we went bowling and to dinner, then picked up a tired boy that had to get to bed because camp started again at 8:00 am the next morning.
After dropping Davis off at camp, we took our time cleaning up and checking out of the hotel. We didn't have any plans so we didn't know what we would do all afternoon until camp was over. Thanks to google, we found a cute little aquarium. It was small and didn't take too long to walk around, but it was still a lot of fun. We got some lunch, then went over to the stadium to watch Davis finish up the camp. He said the camp was fun, and hard work, but he was glad that he did it. His team did pretty good in the tug of war, I think they got 4th place.
It was a great trip! Boise is a beautiful city, and I had the best company. I love spending time with my family and making fun memories together.
