Spring Break

We had a full fun week for Spring Break.  We started it off going out to Antelope Island.  It is fun to go out and play on the "beach" and fly kites in the sand.  It was even more fun this time, because a lot of our cousins joined us for the day.
On the way home, we drove right by Grease Monkey.  My car expired the very next day, so I figured it was a good time to stop and get my emissions and pay my taxes.  And as luck would have it, a Macey's is right next door so naturally we ditched the car and walked to get Kong Kones.
Tuesday we took it inside because of the crazy wet weather and went to a movie.  We cashed in some of our free passes to the Kaysville theater that we got for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Jones.  We love this gift, and we've been able to go to quite a few movies.  Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for lunch as well.  We used a gift card to Red Robyn that we also got for Christmas.
After some errands, we made a stop to Krispy Kreme.  The kids had their report cards and Lu was a first timer with trading her A's for donuts.
We hiked Waterfall Canyon again this week.  We've been up there in the fall, summer and now spring.  The waterfall is the biggest in the early summer, and the leaves are amazing in the fall, but the spring was a  whole different kind of pretty.
Bailey had a ride all the way up the mountain.  She just had to share her backpack with the hundreds of rocks that Gator collected along the way.  I told her it would be a lot easier if she ditched the extra weight, but she insisted.  Her pockets were full and we even put some in her hood.
We go a little slower than some people, so we just let them pass us by.  But one couple that passed us, asked if we wanted a picture together.  Davis was half way up the rock face and we had to call him down, but it was nice of them to offer and wait for Davis to come back down and get in our picture.  Frank came along with us on the hike, he is pretty much just becoming another kid in our family.
The waterfall was still frozen and it even snowed on us as we ate our lunch, but it was so beautiful up at the top.  I honestly didn't even think there would be so much snow still, or we would've dressed a little warmer, but as we started coming down we thawed out and my jacket was off again by time I got to the car.
The perfect after hike treat, Zeppes.  Refreshing, and I admit, I had to think about my treat during the hike a couple of times to get me up the mountain.  The gelato's are that good!
All this spring break fun, I had to throw in one hour of work.  And oh my word, you'd think the world was ending talk about fighting and whining.  But the job got done and we were on with the fun again.
It's not very often that Owen will agree to ride bikes with us.  Ally and I are always on a bike ride, but today Owen and Davis joined us.
