We are creatures of habit. Our 4th of July's are pretty strict on tradition. Last year, the kids and I broke away from that and went down to Toquerville for the 4th, but this year, we were back up North and we followed our same tracks we do every year. We started off in Kaysville at Stewarts for breakfast. But before my kids could eat, of course a picture was required. We went over to the neighbors yard, because they had little flags lining their whole yard, and I liked that. My kids just wanted to get that dang picture, so they could go eat!!
After eating yummy breakfast burritos we were filled and ready to go to Layton for the parade. It was a HOT one this year. But we had shade and lots of water and sunscreen. Besides with a crowd like this to enjoy the parade with who cares about the heat.
After the city parade, we drove back to Kaysville and got ready for a BBQ/family parade at Grandma and Grandpa Jones. These guys took water balloon volleyball very serious!
And after eating dinner, we ended the night back in Layton at moms for fireworks. It is a lot of back and forth, but when we have so much family so close it is a blessing to be able to spend the holiday with everyone!
Glow stick jump the rope, they were pretty clever and proud of themselves.
