Back to the ER

I spoke too soon this evening. We just got home from football, and I was commenting to Owen how it was nice to be home. This week has been full of games and practices late at night and then with Ally's accident also, I just wanted to put the kids to bed and have a nice big bowl of icecream. Not even 10 minutes later, I hear a loud sound from Davis's bathroom, followed by a horrible horrible scream. I go in to see blood dripping down his face. I took one look, and knew I had jinxed myself. I got changed out of my pj's and called a friend to watch Owen and Ally and drove away from my quiet evening and icecream back to the ER. Davis was super brave and all the nurses fussed over his beautiful eyes and his dimples. He doesn't get yet, how much his eyes and dimples will work to his advantage. It is a pretty bummer time to get hurt. His football team made it into the playoffs. And now he is out, no football for a little while. He is ok with it though. He is looking forward to having some free time to just play and hang out. So I am going to bed, keeping an eye open for Davis tonight. And dream of tomorrow night, I still have that icecream :)

Not her week

After being sick on Monday, Ally had some more bad luck last night. She was playing "kitchen" with Eden and Lucy and was sitting at the table. For once she was just sitting on the chair and not standing on the chair or the table. And this time she fell. I didn't think she fell that hard, but she stood up and immediately threw up. I put her in the bath and she was acting fine. But she threw up again after, and so I figured I should take her in. She left her mark at Wee Care too, sorry. They sent us to Primary Childrens and she has a concussion. I totally didn't even think she hit her head that hard. Well, they watched her for a bit and as she was there she was perking up, and kept a popsicle down, so they didn't feel the need for a CT scan. And we were sent home. But she picked this baby doll out on her way out and thought the night was a blast!
There is quite a bit of difference in her behavior from the first picture, when we first got to the hospital to the second one taken this morning after we had gotten some sleep.

Being sick is no fun

I'm ready to go back on vacation. We just had too much fun, and it wore Ally right out I guess. So here's a warning for everyone down South. Sorry, I hope she didn't leave any stomach bugs down there. I'm pretty sure she brought them all home with her though, from the way our morning has gone :( so you all should feel safe that she didn't leave any behind. Owen didn't go to school either, I love that kid, but he gets sympathy stomach aches quite easily. I'm off to go spray lysol!

Easter in Toquerville

We took off for some time away this weekend. It was fun, and we found the sun! So much in fact that Clark and I are fried. I put sunscreen on the kids, and even me, but I guess not enough. There was ping pong, jeep rides, rivers, delicious food, outside movies, egg hunts, family, ladder golf, being lazy, visiting, walks, wiggle cars, fires with marshmallows & wiffle ball games. What fun! Thanks for working so hard Dad and Dianne to help make these memories for my kids.

Scout Fieldtrip

For scouts we have been working on the boys' emergency preparedness badge. Tonight we went to the cannery and bishops storehouse. It was great for the boys to be able to see how the church handles an emergency and they got to can macaroni, oats, and onions. They had a great time. I've always been scared away from canning assignments in the ward, because I had never been. But it is quick and effiecient, and quite entertaining. Maybe the entertainment came more from the 8 & 9 year old scouts than actually canning though!

For real this time

Ally got her first haircut today. Last year I had to cut some of her hair off, to get these trucks untangled, but I don't count that as her "first haircut". If my boys had gone till they were 3, they would've had hair down to their rear ends. But Ally is a little slow at growing her hair, but today she got her little baby curls cut off. And she looks so grown up.

Family Night

Boy cousins are so mean! But Lu got her revenge. And now we owe Krissy and PJ a role of duct tape.

It wasn't the ocean, but .....

The kids were off for their last day of spring break today. We have had a fun time hanging out together. We spent the day today out at Antelope Island. Ally thought she was at the beach. And you know, Utah has a pretty fun beach. We found a great sandy spot and took our shoes off, and ran around flying kites and blowing bubbles, and walked out to the water to skip some rocks. The kids got pretty wet. After we played there for a bit we ate our lunch, then drove around looking at the buffalo and went out to the Ranch. We made it back in time for some tired boys to make it to football practice. No matter how much I run them ragged, they still fight me about going to bed. They just want to stay up and play. Okay, funny thing just happened. Owen sleepwalks. Sometimes it freaks me out. He always comes up to my room. Well, he just showed up. Talking about needing help with the bungee and something about Larry the Cable Guy. Um...Owen, are you okay? I just have to turn him around and follow him down the stairs, get him in bed and he is asleep and won't remember a thing. I better go to bed too, tomorrow is a school day.

Another wreath

A cute spring wreath, and this was much cleaner than the burlap I worked with for Halloween. That stuff scared me away from crafts for 6 months. These little felt flowers were clean and easy.

Is that the sun!?!

It was so hard sitting through church today. After 3 days of snow, the sun was out shining bright. We barely made it in to change and we were back outside again playing Spring things, like kites and bubbles. Ten years old, and he is almost as tall as me!

Beat the storm.....

The boys started spring break today, and we went to the zoo. The forecast was pretty intimidating, but we decided to chance it anyway. We heard about the rain up North, but there was nothing where we were, until we got in the car to leave than our luck ran out and we took it slow going home in the snow. The kids pretty much had the zoo to themselves. Blake and Ally enjoyed going their own pace, while the "big" kids took off and did their own thing. Which ended up being spending forever with the gorillas filling their cell phones up with photos of the gorillas every move. They were pretty excited when we finally made it to the gorillas, they wanted to show us everything. I stood there for 2 minutes and left. I watched the baby pick bugs off the dad and eat them. After that I was done. And so grateful, that I am who I am, and my kids don't eat bugs off me! The snow just may have us changing our plans of kites and bubbles for tomorrow. We just may need to break out the boots and sled instead.

Remember these?

My boys came home from school the other day all excited about what they had done in PE class that day. They had both learned about Chinese Jumpropes. I played with these when I was in Elementary school. And I loved them! I'm not nearly as good as I used to be, but I got lots of practice today, and I am sure with how much the boys enjoy it, I will get plenty more!
