A backyard party

It has been so blasted hot this summer, we are officially cooked.  The house AC is broken so we try to get out of the house and do some stuff, but the bad thing is that the car AC is broke as well.  So our activities have to be close and cool.  Friday we went to the theater with some friends and saw Turbo.  I haven't been sleeping well, so I sat in a cool building and began nodding off.  The movie was cute, I was just exhausted.
Our friends came over after the movie for a backyard party.  Swimming and roasting hot dogs and smores.
After it got dark last night, the kids and I weren't ready for bed yet so we did some glow in the dark bowling.  I got the idea off Pinterest and it was a lot of fun.  The kids thought it was great fun, especially because they got to stay up so late.
Growing up, we slept outside on the trampoline all summer.  The bright hot sun would wake us up and we would all end up in a big pile in the middle of the trampoline.  My kids have always wanted to spend the night outside, but I was scared to have them do it alone, and I just never really wanted to.  Anyway last night we rented a movie and piled blankets and pillows on the trampoline with every intention of sleeping there all night.  As my allergies were exploding and I was laying there so extremely uncomfortable, I was thinking what in the world had I gotten myself into.  Ally was snoozing away as soon as we turned the movie on, I was sneezing away and the boys were just watching the movie.  Luckily Davis spoke up first stating he just didn't want to sleep on the trampoline all night.  I made double sure he wanted to go to the trailer, just so I didn't sound so anxious to abandon their fun, and him and I carried Gator to the trailer where we spent the night.  Owen was the only one that stayed on the trampoline.  And instead of the hot sun waking him up, it was a few raindrops.  I was hoping it would continue raining, but the sun is breaking through the clouds and it is going to be another hot day.  It has been a very fun busy summer, but I am just ready for some cooler weather.

Road Trip

We loaded up the cars this weekend and took off with everyone on a road trip.  We wanted to get away, so we went to Vernal.  It is far enough to be "away", but not too far.  We had a fantastic weekend.  It was so fun being with everyone and hanging out.  We got a little loud at times, but we were on vacation!
The big hang out spot was the Hotel Pool.  It was very hot, and the water felt great and we couldn't get any of these fish out of the water!
The Temple grounds were very pretty.  We drove by the temple today, and it was all locked up since it was Sunday, but we were still able to see the temple.  The little kids fit right through the gate, but we didn't feel right about breaking into the temple grounds for pictures, so we quickly told them to get out, even though I was tempted to tell them just to run up and sit on the steps just real quick for a picture.
Dinosaurs!!  Lots of dinosaurs in  Vernal.

Hostess is back/Drive in

Another night at the drive in.  And it was for another "part 2" movie.  The kids said they wanted to see all the part 2 movies at the drive in this summer.  Tonight was Despicable Me 2, and we all thought it was a great movie.  But I can't help but think they were more excited for the Hostess donuts that Gator brought home from the store for a movie treat.

Skywalker Haven

Grace has gotten a job this summer at the new trampoline gym in Layton, Skywalker Haven.  We decided to go visit her at work tonight.  She was actually just getting off by the time we got there after basketball games, but that was great because she was able to play with us.
Late night ice cream run.  We tried zeppes and farrs, but they close at 10, it was way past bedtime, but we needed a treat.
Crashed little girl, her dog is never very far away from her.

Classic Waterslides

We got invited to a birthday party tonight for one of Davis's friends.  They've been friends for a long time and Dallins dad is Davis's basketball coach and one of his football coaches, so we know this family well and they are a great family.  It was a lot of fun hanging out and swimming.  I went down one of the bigger slides and about drowned Gator after that I stuck to the "minnow" slide and taking pictures.   The kids were all crazy though.  Classic Waterslides is an older hangout and the safety is lacking, but that is what the kids love.
