Movie and a treat

We may have just been playing in the leaves having fall fun earlier today, but we decided it was a good night to start our Christmas movie and treat night.  So it was fall, and Christmas in the same day.  That is just how fast time goes by also and  you have to change modes, done with one holiday and on to the next.  I can't believe how Christmas is here again already.  But the holidays are here and we started our movie/ treat night with Jingle All the Way and a big bowl of caramel popcorn.

Finishing up Fall

It has been very warm and sunny this weekend.  All I've wanted to do was go out back and rake up the leaves and play with the kids, but basketball, homework, and hanging with friends kept getting in the way.  Today after church I told the kids it was our afternoon to just hang out together.  As I was raking up the leaves, I asked the kids to move the trampoline over to my pile, because I knew they would want to jump off the trampoline into the leaves.  They thought they were pretty clever with their plan and I was ok with their plan because it involved all 3 working together.
They weren't too excited about me stopping them for pictures.  But look how genuine they look, even though they were mad at me.
Once the jumping got boring, the 4 wheeler came back out and the pile of leaves was used for a jump.

Moms vs Kids

I posted earlier that football season was done, but Davis's team is going to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving to play in a tournament so they are still practicing for that.  Tonight his coach had a fun idea for the boys though.  Some of the moms showed up to practice for a game of flag football against our boys.  We had a great time, it was so fun.  The boys won, but hey they have been playing for 4 months.  I was elected as center, and I guess I did ok I only snapped it over the quarterbacks head once, but I will leave that job to Davis he is SO much better at it.  Davis is a classy player, but when he plays against his own mom the gloves come off and he is a dirty little player.  I so would have scored if he hadn't tripped me.  Payback, we will get our revenge.
Sneaky boys, Davis doesn't run the ball during the season, so of course we were not expecting him to score on their first possession.  Well played boys, well played.  And D Stew nice touchdown!

Pilgrim Lunch

Gator is my last student to go through Kanesville Elementary.  So today was my last time going to the kindergarteners Pilgrim lunch.  The kids made their cute hats and learned a couple of Thanksgiving songs, then they sang for the parents and we ate school lunch.  The costumes were the same and the songs were the same, but oh man school lunch has gone down hill. Before the bus came this morning, I went through my pictures and found the ones from Owen and Davis, Gator loved looking at these pictures.

Halloween Night

Happy Halloween!
Davis and his buddy Jaden.  You can't tell, but they said they were smiling for the picture.

Halloween Happenings

We've been busy celebrating Halloween.  I haven't had time to finish a blog post, so this will be a mega post with lots of pictures (I know, what's new there) of all of our different activities the last few weeks in anticipation of Halloween.

Weber County was out of school last week for the end of the quarter.  We went and decorated sugar cookies with Millie.
Davis knows how to decorate cookies....one in the hand to eat while decorating another cookie.  That one on the plate didn't last long either, I'm surprised I didn't bring home 3 sick kids.
My friend and I had a Halloween party for our kids and some friends.  They had a great time carving pumpkins, playing games, making root beer and hitting the piƱata.  The boys thought it was great fun to place a pumpkin on the teeter totter and then send it flying up in the air.  And it was funny, until one pumpkin came flying back down and hit Davis right in the head.  Pumpkin chucking was done after that happened.
Grandpa Jones' birthday is the 25th, so we usually have a costume party to celebrate his birthday.

And the necessary evil of the holiday.  Carving pumpkins is so messy, but it's got to be done.
We hung out with friends at the Trunk or Treat.
Owen's football team had their championship game on Halloween, and the team dresses up on game day.  So he wore a missionary tag so he could still say his was dressed up for Halloween.  I know I will blink and this look won't be a costume.
Davis and Gator had their Halloween parade.  Davis is getting to the age where this is just annoying, but Gator was over the moon to be able to finally be in the school parade.
Davis lucks out with the cute/fun things.  Our PTA president has a daughter in his grade and she always goes over the top.  She brought these way cute donuts today for the 5th grade to enjoy as they were watching the younger grades in the parade.
I'm off to that championship game and after that trick or treating.  My kids all have plans that have them scattered all over West Haven tonight, so I may or may not get pictures of them.
