The kids and I didn't delay starting spring break and first thing Saturday morning, we hit the road. Our destination.....Toquerville.
Dad and Dianne had the family Easter egg hunt planned for Saturday afternoon. No one plans a party like Dianne. She has every little detail just right and the kids get spoiled rotten!!
Next to the garage, dad is building a new house. My dad builds beautiful homes, and I can't wait to see this one finished. The basement of the new house, is where we all crashed for the weekend. It was a big slumber party.
I was a little worried about Sunday. Getting everyone ready for 9am church with only one bathroom, but we made it with plenty of time, enough time for a picture my kids were thrilled with that.
I love being down in Toquerville because my kids don't even care that they don't have a TV or their Xbox. We spend our time hiking, going for walks, playing games, and hanging out.
Owen and Collin found a different path to take.
The kids tried to build a dam. This activity, I think is my most favorite of all down in Toquerville. I love finding rivers to play in. I don't know why, it is messy and muddy and takes a lot of work to plan and clean up from, but I love it!
The infamous ladder golf game. We always spend hours playing this game.
Dad's swing set entertained the little kids for hours. I loved watching them play and interact.
Davis and Ty walked all over town, but always ended up at the city park. Davis never came back empty handed. A stick or rock or whatever is just too cool to pass up for Davis.
Owen and Collin took a walk to the cemetery. I came to pick them up in the car since it is quite a walk and they didn't want to walk back. I saw them taking a rest on my grandpas bench. Owen is named after my grandpa. His name was Orville Bruce. He also is named after Clarks grandpa whose name was Max Owen. Two grandpas, two middle names bam, that is our Owen Bruce.

Dad had some yard clean up that he needed help with and in a very short amount of time, they were done and all their work was up in smoke. I remember fires like this when I was a kid. We burned everything. I have scars on my right hand from a chain that was in the fire one time. I was picking it up with a stick and it rolled onto my hand. Luckily my kids are smarter than I was and they watched from a distance.
After the yard work, the kids needing some cooling off. I can't believe they were swimming outside in March. Southern Utah for you. That is the main reason I don't think I could ever make the move down South. I love it, and we have a ton of fun, but the heat kills me.
After all the yard work and swimming we roasted hot dogs and of course had smores and starburst. We closed the evening with a few rounds of bingo, and because Dianne is the party queen she was able to just pull out a whole bucket of prizes for the winners. Which to Dianne, is everyone...everyone wins!
Thank you for a great weekend vacation. We will be back in July!
