Fremont First

We've been to lots of high school football games, but it is SO much more exciting when my own kid is playing in the game.  Owen had his first Fremont game this afternoon and he is playing a new position in high school.  They have him as the left tackle, and I think that just may be "his" spot, he did fantastic!!  Owen is #74

10th, 7th, and 2nd

A new school year started today.  My kids were all excited for this year, it's a big year.   I have a kid in each school now, high school, jr. high, and elementary.   Both boys left at 7:15 and Gator wanted to be down at the bus stop then too, only one problem, it was an hour early.  So we waved to the boys and went inside to finish getting ready for the day.  Everyone had a great day, I hope that is a good sign for a fabulous school year!

 It was my first day of school today too! 

Bowling "banquet"

The first time we went bowling this summer, I started keeping track of our strikes and spares and scores.  I thought it would be fun to do a little "game" during the summer and celebrate it before school started.  Well, here we are, the last day of summer vacation.  I planned our bowling party for today, we had a Chick-fil-A picnic lunch with awards and a treat.  We had hoped to go get snow cones, but the place we love was closed, seriously we were so sad.  But Farr's ice cream came to the rescue and made us feel better. 

This happend today

I took Owen to get his learners permit today.  I didn't think much further then that, but he passed and then I felt nervous and wondered what I was going to do now.  The cashier must've sensed my wave of nerves because she smiled  and asked me if he was my first.  I said yes, and she handed over this parent handbook.  It was a nice gesture, but I didn't feel much better.  When it's all said and done, it will be so nice to have him licensed, he's a very busy kid, and I'm getting tired of being a taxi!

Go Grizz!

Great game West Haven Maroon!  Way to start the season today with an awesome, well played game.  Davis kicked some Morgan fanny today, I love football season.  We started off the morning watching Davis's team play, and then we stayed at the park because Dallin's team also played in West Haven.  We set up some chairs and a shade canopy and spent the day watching football!  Davis is #62, playing center.

Owen turned 15 years old today!  I can't believe that I have a 15 year old, I can't believe I have a high school student now.  15 years has done Owen marvelous things.  He does things his way, and that is proving to be very successful for him.  I love raising my kids and being able to see everyday what they are accomplishing and what is heading their way.  We had a great day today celebrating.  I had meetings for work this morning, but I arranged to be able to leave early and hurry up to The Pie to get my birthday boy his favorite pizza for lunch.  Ally was in on my secret and she did a great job making sure he stayed in his room while we got things ready.  I will always and forever remember the smile on his face as he came upstairs and saw the balloons and lunch with us singing to him.  He was so happy.  After lunch, he and Davis had football practice, Ally had soccer practice, and I had more meetings for work, so we went our ways for a couple hours then met up again at Classic Waterslides for a party.  I love watching my kids have fun, and they sure did tonight!  It was a fantastic day, I am so glad Owen had a great birthday, we sure had fun celebrating with him. 

 

Last night we went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings.  We love this restaurant, and Owen also got his favorite drink huckleberry lemonade, a day early of national lemonade day. 

 

Pictures

Sometimes I go through my pictures and find tons that I wanted to blog about, but they weren't a whole post on their own so I save them in a folder for a misc post.  Here are some of those pictures because I really need to clean out that folder. 

All day every day, Ally is going across the street and getting these cats.  They think this is their home now and just wait for her on our porch.  Bella is not a fan at all. 

Fremont had the blue and silver scrimmage.  Owen played awesome, he is playing a new position this year.  He's always played center, and he is still, but he's also playing left tackle. 

Owen and Davis woke up at 6am to go to the temple with Ryan and Chris.  I love that they plan a time to hang out with their cousin and it is going to the temple.  Awesome kids!

Ally has wanted to have a mermaid tail since last summer.  They are very pricey online, and she was saving her money to buy one.  Lucky her, her friends mom said if she paid for the fabric, she would make it for her. 

10th and 7th?!?  I simply cannot believe this is true.  Owen is moving on and it is now Davis's turn for me to keep my close eye on every day at school.

Science Day 2015

2015 is our 4th year of doing science day.  It is a messy day, but always a fun one.  Science is pretty fickle and unpredictable, so we had a few experiments that were duds, which was disappointing, but some were totally awesome and made up for the others. 

 

Football is back

It's the best time of the year, football season is here and the boys are back in their man cave on Sunday evenings watching the games.  Both Owen's and Davis's teams start games next weekend, and we are all excited!

Kids make the plans

Yesterday I had a day hanging out with Gator.  The boys are kinda over swimming this summer, but Gator could never tire of swimming.  Two of her favorite things are swimming and playing with friends.  We called around and found some cousins that were free and could join us at the pool, thanks Ty and Blake for hanging out with us!

Today it was the boys turn to pick what we were going to do.  They wanted to go to the Temple, I was happy to go with them and proud of them for making the choice to go to the Temple when I left plans up to them.  It is so fun going with my kids, I hope they always love going to the Temple.  We went to lunch at Tailgaters and played pool after the Temple.
