St Patricks

Happy St. Patricks Day.  I am a sucker for tradition, and I am also a sucker for spoiling my kids rotten.  Sometimes I think they (the boys) have outgrown this kind of stuff, but then again I know they love it just as much now as they did when they were younger, and I still love doing fun things like this for all of them.  So I set up another scavenger hunt this year, and sat back and watched and took some pictures of the fun.
This year it was a little different.  First they had to open a bag and do the activity inside the bag before they could turn the bag over and read the next clue.

Don't Eat Pete.
 Leprechan names
Finding the 22 hidden gold coins
 Writing "love" notes
 Rolling lucky 7
Finding their green treat.  And apparently I like taking a picture on the stairs on St. Patricks Day, but I'm glad I was looking at old pictures tonight because look how dang cute these kids are!  And how dang fast they have grown up.  (I may or may not be crying a little right now)

Funny Stories

We are in kindof a holding pattern right now.  School basketball is done, and we are in between leagues for Davis's comp team while Owen is waiting for a new comp team to pick up as well.  Owen is weight lifting for football and Davis is finishing up the ski season.   Both boys are starting track at school as well.   Gator has a couple games left of indoor soccer and she's thinking of taking a break for a bit from soccer while maybe starting volleyball or something else.   The school year is 3/4 of the way done already and we are antsy for spring break.  But with all this in between stuff going on right now, we are having some free evenings to spend time together.  Gator's school got a new slide installed and she wanted to show the boys the update to their old playground, so we went over to Kanesville Elementary tonight and spent some time.  I laughed so hard and I loved hearing the stories of the boys time on the playground and their little trip through memory lane and how alot of the experiences are still the same for Gator.  Owen stood on the basketball court, and laughed to himself remembering some friendly and not so friendly games during recess, the boys climed on the playground equipment remembering games they played with their friends, and they walked over to the worn patch of grass in the field where "all the kids stood to hang out with each other."  The sun went down and it got cold, but we stayed at the school, while I listened to all my kids talk about their time on the same playground.  I loved it, I loved spending this evening with my kids and hearing their "remember when" stories.  Gator still has a few years at the school, but all to soon it will be a memory to her as well, and I love the fact that all my kids have gone to the same elementary school and can have some of the same stories to tell.

But we're not done......

We are still celebrating over here.   Birthdays, National Oreo day.... we're just getting all wild and crazy! !

Celebrate 8

Swimming and Iceskating, that is what Gator chose to do to celebrate her birthday.  We went to the  Bountiful rec center because they have both activities in their facility.  She said her birthday was awesome!!  It was fun when some of our cousins could join us, thank you!!

Gator is 8

Happy Birthday to our caboose!  I can't believe she is 8.  8 is a huge birthday.  Although we are going to wait to do her baptism until September (she wants to have Owen do it), 8 is still so grown up.  Birthdays are better then Christmas for Gator, everyone celebrates Christmas on the same day, but there is no other Gator and March 4th is all about her and only her.  Cinnamon rolls for breakfast and a new dress for school.  I took the afternoon off work and stole her from school.  We went to Applebees for lunch and then shopping.  I am not a shopper, but Gator sure loves it, she had to pick out a new swim suit for her celebration tomorrow.  Happy Birthday Gator, we love you and are so grateful we have you here to celebrate March 4th!!

Monster Trucks

Last night, we went to Monster Trucks.  My boys used to LOVE the Monster Truck show every year.  They would get so excited and not be able to sit the whole show, because they were jumping with excitement.  We haven't been to a show for a few years, but I thought it would be fun to go this year and relive the memory a little.  They didn't jump up and down like they had ants in their pants, but they still enjoyed the action.  So it wasn't exactly like I remember, but we still had a pretty darn good time together.  And all three kids still love Monster Trucks!  New memories made to go with the old memories.

Spring Fever weekend

Spring Fever hit this weekend.  It was so clear and sunny and warm.  I'm not ready for the heat of summer, but I do love spring.  My kids are just like me, Utah is the perfect place for us to live, because we love the seasons.  When we get tired of one, it's time for another.  Although, Davis will never be ready for ski season to end I'm afraid.  But, even he enjoyed this weekend with us playing outside.  On Saturday we went to Layton and took some flowers to my moms grave and cleaned it up a little from the winter.  We walked to the park with Krissy and her kids and wished Lucy a Happy Birthday!  Sunday afternoon after church, we were back outside walking to a park here in West Haven.  We took a basketball and ladder golf along with us and had a fun time with each other.

This darn cat

The cat people extended their trip by 4 days.  Now instead of Friday, they are coming home Tuesday.  And as luck would have it, the diabetic, asthmatic, fat cat is sick.  I went to feed them this morning, and he's totally lethargic and won't eat or open his eyes.  I freaked out, but when I finally got him to open his eyes, I really freaked out.  His eyes were blood red, so besides almost puking, I knew I had to do something, so I texted the cat lady and she said this has happened before and she had drops and ointment I would have to give him.  Man this cat is high maintenance.
So now along with the insulin shot I give him twice a day, I have to give him eyedrops and ointment twice a day as well.  And I don't even like pets, I should get my vet license after this 12 days.

Provo City Center Temple

I love going to Temple openhouses.  I love going into the Temple with all my kids.  They are beautiful and the spirit can be felt even though they haven't been dedicated yet.  This one was a little tough to get tickets to, and even though we had tickets, we still waited in line for an hour.  But, it was worth the wait in line, and it is so amazing.  After the tour we went to dinner at a little Mexican restaurant in Provo.  The strawberry lemonade was delicious, and the food was pretty good too, but the company was the best.

A new double cousin

We went and met our new double cousin today.  Krissy and PJ had Jace on Superbowl Sunday.  He is so cute, I hope he is a good baby for them, he's got lots of older siblings to help out when needed.

Funny story

For the next week and a half the kids and I are pet sitting.  There are 2 cats, and they are both fatter than fat.  They are huge!  The one is named Gilbert, he's pretty chill and likes to play, but his brother Gandolf, is mellow, but very high maintenance.  Gandolf is 15 years old, asthmatic, and diabetic.  I have to give him shots twice a day, he's excellent for the shot, he just hides different places in the house, so we have to play hide and seek before we can feed him and give him his shot.  I'm just hoping neither of them die while the owners are out of town.
