The rest of April

No new posts in awhile.  We are crazy busy with the end of the school year, basketball, yoga, soccer, track, finding jobs, and squeezing in a little play time when we can.

Another college day for Owen.  He really really really would love to play football at Utah State.  He visited Logan and a player gave him some gloves which was so super nice, because we haven't ever been able to find ones that fit him.
I was in the restroom the other evening and came out to the boys gone.  Owen took the car and Davis to the store for dessert.  I was okay with this because the store is a mile away and also because I just really like ice cream.

Basketball is insane right now.  I thought the school season was done, so we found Owen a comp team.  Well, the school is doing a post season league and they have games 3 times a week, along with open gym times, comp practice and comp games.  Owen is beat.
In their spare time, the boys are hanging out with friends so that leaves Gator and I home.  Her and her friend wanted to go swimming the other night, so I took them for a couple of hours.  With such an age gap between Gator and the boys, a lot of times, Gator ends up being the only child. She's not complaining though and I'm grateful I have a caboose.
Davis is still loving and learning from his CBA team.  He has an achilles injury right now that is has him off the court and very cranky.  We're hoping he can be back out playing soon.
We finally found an Owen size cup.
Gator participated in a volleyball clinic at Rocky.  She had a lot of fun.  She is struggling with the decision if she wants to continue playing soccer or try something else.  So this clinic was good for her.
Owen has his first job.  They've worked for a neighbor in summers past, and Davis is doing some work for the nursery by our house, but this will be the first actual "job".  I'm not sure where he will fit this into his schedule, but he is an expensive child and I think he wants to be able to help out with some of his stuff.
We found ourselves with a free evening after basketball practice got cancelled, so we went to Zeppes and got a treat.
At work it was Aide appreciation day.  I loved that it is the same day as super hero day.  I love my job and my coworkers.  I think in our kind of work, we are a little like super heros, so I think we got lunch catered to us because we were celebrating super hero day not aide appreciation day.

Animal Day

At work, my students have been learning about animals, so we had an animal day.  I knew my animal lover would be in heaven so I brought her with me for the morning.  Jana was nice enough to bring some of her puppies, and I was suprised once Gator saw those cute puppies, she didn't really want anything to do with the other animals.
Davis skipped 4th period (I guess that is a perk to having your mom at your school) and brought Blaze in again to visit.  I was suprised at how many of my students wanted to hold a lizard.  Davis was a proud reptile parent and shared, but kept a very watchful eye on him.

More Lagoon

There has been so much rain, the sun came out this weekend and we took advantage and spent some time at Lagoon. It wasn't too crowded and we rode rides until we were all a little sick to our stomachs.

Blossoms

My neighbors tree is amazing right now.  It is full of spring blossoms, so naturally I made my kids go over for a picture all dressed for church.  The tree is pretty darn amazing, but these 3 people are even more amazing!

Random Spring Break

It was wonderful, being off school/work for a whole week.  Tuesday and Wednesday we were gone all day, but the rest of the week, we've been around enjoying going no where.  Well, except for the yard work day, but we had to get one day of work in.
 Zeppes!
Feeding the ducks in Syracuse
 More Zeppes
Buffalo Wild Wings was a fun place for Owen and Chris to go watch the basketball National Championship.
My moms headstone is in.  I think it looks very nice, but I still think it's pretty dumb she's gone.
The yard work day, yuck.  We have too big of a yard I've decided.  Owen wanted the truck to help haul sticks, so he taught himself how to drive a stick shift with the help of Youtube.
Our annual Christmas tree burning.  We had a couple extra trees from some friends, so we had a pretty big fire this year.  I've been thinking gravel would be nice around the fire pit instead of grass, now is the perfect time to make that change if I'm going to I guess.

Spring Break Wednesday

Back down to Salt Lake for today's activity.  We went to Tracy Aviary.  We went to the Aviary a few years back (also on Spring Break), but we've never been back until Today.  They've got a lot of interesting and beautiful birds.
After the Aviary, we went to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, a family favorite.  A few months ago, I bought a Groupon for a place called Scales and Tails.  They do traveling shows, but twice a week they open their warehouse for the public to come see the reptiles.  Ally was nervous, Owen, is terrified of snakes, but money talks, and Davis loved everything about this place.  I on the other hand, didn't touch a single thing, no way.

Spring Break Tuesday

Davis has been really really wanting to go to the Natural History Museum.  He's always been into history, and I knew he'd enjoy it, but I wasn't so sure about the rest of us.  When I saw that they were having a Gecko's live exhibit, I figured that the rest of us could take one for the team and we would take Davis to the Natural History Museum.  All of us enjoyed our day, not sure if it was because we were out of school, so anything would have been fun, or if they all did really like the museum.  We all voted that the dinosaurs were our favorite.
After the museum, we weren't ready to go home, so we decided to go to the Salt Lake Cemetery.  Not a real conventional idea, I know, but it was actually really awesome.  The place is huge, HUGE.  We happened upon Wildford Woodruffs grave and looked up on google what other prophets were buried in this cemetery.  We found out that 13 prophets of the Church have memorials at the Salt Lake Cemetery.  The article gave some directions how to find the graves, and we set out to find them.  We found 11 of the 13.  We never could find Howard W. Hunter or George Albert Smith.
After 2 hours in the cemetery, we were starving.  The Pie was right close by and that was sounding good, so The Pie it was.
