End of month random

At the end of the month some pictures just don't make a post, but I need to clean the folder out for the next month of fun.  January 2018 is over and done and it was a crazy one.  Between influenza, Davis's foot, basketball season, and my sister was diagnosed with a brain tumor and will be having surgery to remove that so the craziness will continue.  But we just keep going day by day and sometimes hour by hour, but we get through it and have some pretty good times a long the way!!
Snapchat continues to be a favorite, Jace loves it.  We are always playing and laughing on Snapchat.
Owen got Gator a fairy garden for Christmas and he helped her put it together.
Basketball buddies
Owen was nominated as Winter Ball royalty.  I gave up on getting any of the couple and group photos.  Maybe someday she will send them to me.  But Owen looked pretty darn handsome in his new suit.
Davis was invited to sing in an honors choir.  300 kids across the state practiced together for 2 days then had a concert at Abravenal Hall.
Gator has been working hard on her multiplication facts.  She got a principals award after bringing her grade up from a 2.5 to a 4.  Awesome!!

Turning 40

I turned 40 today.  It's so crazy, but it was a fun day.  We luckily had a couple hours in between Influenza attacks and that couple hours worked out perfect because I had bought circus tickets weeks ago.  Another thing I always talk about doing, but this is the year to just do it.  We had a fun time and Clark didn't start getting really sick until the very end.  This flu is no joke, it makes you completely miserable and so sick.  But we were able to go and enjoy the evening and came home and had hot fudge sundaes.

No more of this for a little bit

Davis's season was going great for his school team.  This photo is one I copied from an online sports photographer.  Well, the team will keep going for a couple more games of season play, then onto playoffs, but Davis will have to be cheering from the bench.
And no more skiing for at least 2 weeks, which is awful news because the mountains just barely started to get snow this winter.
Instead Davis will be in a boot.  I missed his game Tuesday because of my illness, but he came home limping with a bag of ice and a huge swollen ankle.  After a trip to Ryan and an xray it was determined that Davis has a high low sprain with possible growth plate fracture.  The boot is to be worn 24/7 for 2 weeks, then we'll get another xray.  Hopefully there will be no fracture and at that point he will be put in a brace and limited activity.  The basketball season will be done at school, but hopefully there will still be some snow for a couple times skiing before spring.  Gator was sad to have influenza, but she was excited because this flu doesn't cause vomiting.  I still hate how Tanner Clinic is right next door to Iceberg.  It was planned that way.

At least her timing was perfect

Yesterday when I was leaving to take Davis to the doctor, Gator called crying from school.  She was feeling dizzy and lightheaded.  I picked her up on our way and Ryan looked her over and said influenza.  I guess it will probably go through everyone.

Sick!!

I never get sick.  But when I do, I get it bad.  Stupid Influenza is making me miss work, basketball games, life and I am miserable.

Not a typical January

This winter is definitely not typical.  And even though I hate it, and I want snow, this afternoon was so nice to get out of the house or basketball gym and spend some time with my kids.  January is always a pretty blah month for me, but getting out and feeling the spring like weather helped with my blahs.  We still are praying for some big storms for the mountains.  We will need it for the summer, and Davis wants to get more use out of his new skis and pass.  He went skiing yesterday, and said it was pretty icy since the last storm was the Christmas storm we had.  Owen had his first interview today with the bishop regarding his papers for his mission.  It's coming, and I'm still not really believing it.  Gator sewed another skirt for church.  Her next project, she wants to sew some small blankets to donate to the animal shelter.  The school year is halfway over already, and I can't wait for spring break!

Sewing

Gator has been having fun with her sewing machine.  She got some fabric for skirts for church and yesterday we made one.  She also went to the fabric store and got some fabric so she could make herself a tote bag to carry her stuff to church in it.
All ready for church in her new skirt and with her new bag.

This is January

January is basketball.  We will be at practice or a game just about every day.  And tonight, we didn't have either one, but Davis and Gator still wanted to go to the gym and play basketball.
