We had Thanksgiving in Kaysville. The boys were all planning their black Friday shopping trip, Davis was watching the forecast waiting for the snow to start falling, Owen was watching football, and Gator was bouncing all around the house playing with cousins. So it was an awesome Thanksgiving, spent just like I always remember. And now my house is quiet because the boys stayed in Kaysville with Chris and Gator went home with Krissy. I always spent the night with cousins when I was little too. We would watch Christmas movies and eat leftovers. I love memories of Thanksgiving.

Christmas Tree Jubilee
The school district has a fund raiser every year and I say I'm going to go, but I never have. So this year, I went. Gator, Davis, and Kennedy went with me. The trees were beautiful, I'm so glad I finally went. And I made Davis realize, 15 years old isn't too old to have a picture with Santa.
Last meal
None of us had school/work today so we went out to lunch. I told the kids that I wasn't going to feed them again until Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. The Pie pizza is the perfect place to go to fill up. That stuff sits like a rock in your stomach, but it is so tasty!

New Season
I have to rant about Davis for a minute. I hate hate hate to admit it, but Davis does seem to sometimes get the "middle child" shaft. The past few months have been a little hard on him with Owen leaving then coming home and helping him find a job and figure out college and helping him with his anxiety and stuff. And Gator is the only girl and the youngest so she is pretty demanding of the attention, but Davis is quiet and he'll just let himself go unnoticed and it's easy for him to just kinda hide and do things on his own. I actually love that quality, but I hate it at the same time. Davis is an awesome kid and he deserves some kudos right now. He finished up a great football season, sticking with it and working his hardest even when he didn't quite get the recognition he should have. Dressing varsity was an awesome thing, but it was also so hard to have to stand on the sidelines all game every game and watch. He wanted to be out there so bad. He was a main contributor to his sophomore team though. At midterm, his grades were D's and F's. So unlike Davis. He buckled down and look at this report card for 1st term. It is amazing!! And now he has just made the basketball team. Football is a long season, but I think basketball is more of a commitment. And it is also harder to make. No one gets cut from football and it takes a ton of kids to get through a football season. Basketball a large amount gets cut and of a student boy over 2000 kids, only 20 something make the basketball team. And I have to say it, when you weren't blessed with the height that your older brother was, it isn't so obvious that you can kick butt at basketball. So we are going from one tough season to another with Davis and he is ready for the challenge. I'm not so sure Joey is though, he misses Davis all day long.

Halloween
We were able to sneak in one more trip to Lagoon last night. It was closing night and it wasn't crowded at all, and we were able to do a lot and we just had a lot of fun!
We met up with one of my students. She loves Lagoon, and hanging out with Gator. The ride operator told them he was out of candy, but he handed them cheese instead. They didn't eat it, I thought it was kinda weird.
Trick or Treating. I think it is so fun how they came up with these costumes on their own. Two friends of Krissy's kid, and Joey and they had just about the whole crew except for Oz. Owen was at work, stupid being an adult, and Davis was with a friend at her family party.

Family Dinner
Tonight we all got together for dinner at the park. Chili and cornbread, what a perfect fall meal. And we carved our pumpkins too.
We carved a pumpkin to take to my moms grave. It was dark by the time we got cleaned up, I've never been to a cemetery in the dark. Lucy, Eden, and Gator went with me for a quick visit.
I had to work
Friday the kids didn't have school. It was a teacher development day, also known as stupid boring meeting day. So Owen took Davis and Gator to the zoo, which was totally nice of him, but also totally not fair. And again I was at the mercy of them and their terrible picture taking skills. This was all I got.
Saturday everyone had different plans. Owen headed up to ISU for the game. I didn't get a single picture, I was so annoyed. Davis went to Pumpkin Nights with Gavon. I got pictures from Lisa at least, but I was still annoyed with Davis because I wanted to go. But hopefully next year. Gator and I went to trunk or treat with Krissy. The kids weren't done playing, so we decided to go to Frightmares for a couple hours. Soon we'll be switching season and holidays with a whole bunch of new fun things to do.
Davis did sent me this one. He said the guy barely broke this pumpkin open as they were getting there, this is what he had done when they left. Friday, October 26, 2018
New Things
Since Gator decided she wanted a break in soccer and to be done with basketball, we've been trying new things. She is taking a cooking class at the Marshall White Center and also ice skating lessons at Weber State. She is loving both, and has great instructors and kids her age in the classes. She also has had rollerblades, but never roller skates. So that is her new mode of transportation around the neighborhood, she wanted some roller skates and she is getting good use out of the.
