The extra daylight

With the break in the rain and the extra hour of daylight it we took the chance to take Joey to the park.  It was great to get out, the park was flooded, but no one minded.  

Spring is coming

Today was a beautiful spring day.  We had dinner at the park with everyone, and we carried it over a little bit with a fire out back.  We still had our Christmas tree to burn, and a whole pile of wood we need to get burned before we move.  I will miss the fire pit.  As we made smores and hung out around the fire, I thought of all the fires we've had out there.  I took my own little trip down memory lane.

Eternal Family day

20 years ago I started my eternal family.  Best thing that I've ever done.  Although life takes twists and turns, and just doesn't work how you think and plan sometimes it can still be awesome.  So March 13th is now my eternal family day, and we celebrated by going out to ice cream.

Prom & Volleyball

Gator had a volleyball tournament today.  The games today were all neck & neck.  They are really getting the hang of the game.  They only have one more tournament.  After that I guess they will just keep practicing and getting better for next season. 

 It was also prom today for Fremont.  Davis was gone the whole day.  As a group they had breakfast, then took the front runner to Salt Lake.  They missed the train back, and Carrie saved the day and crammed them all in her car so they could get home to get ready for the dance.  I was at volleyball, but I wanted to see Davis all dressed up, so I offered to do pictures. I left during a break and took their pictures, and made it back just when they started playing again.  It worked out perfect.   After pictures, it was dinner and the dance.  Davis was exhausted when he got home, but he said it was such a fun day.  It is still a little weird to me that Davis is dating.

Just a little emergency

Davis was in urgent care last night with an infection in his toe.  I say this is a little emergency because prom is on Saturday.  He has to wear dress shoes and wants to dance with his date.  He had no relief after the doctor last night, and the pain and infection was going up his leg so I called Ryan who is always awesome to get us right in.  He burned a hole in his toe nail and gross yuck squirted out everywhere.  He felt instant relief.  Ryan put him on an antibiotic and he will be good for prom.

Since Gator turned 11 yesterday, here is a picture of the three of them, all on their 11th birthday.  

Happy Birthday Gator!

Another birthday and Gator is another year older.  11!!!  Each year her excitement for her birthday builds and I hope she's always this way because everyone needs a day just for them!  Her favorite breakfast always has been and probably always will be cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate.  

I picked Gator up from school at lunch time with a basket of treats.  We left for the rest of the afternoon, no more school for us.  

 Olive Garden won out for lunch.  It was a hard decision, but the bread sticks and alfredo made her decision. 

 March is a perfect time for a birthday.  Winter is ending and spring is coming, so it's a great time for new clothes.  I for one hate shopping, Gator loves it, so just the fact that I took her shopping for be enough, but new clothes top it off. 

 I love this picture.  She was so excited for her birthday, and I just love her smile and excitement as we sang happy birthday to her.  I'm glad this special girl had a special day.  She definitely deserved it. 

 Every time I take a picture of the three of them, I say it's my new favorite.  But really, I love this picture. 

 One word......Owen. 

Hypnotist

Years ago, during Frightmares at Lagoon, a hypnotist used to preform.  I was looking at different things to do, and the same guy comes to Wiseguys.  It was a hilarious show.  Partly because Davis went up and got hypnotized, but it would've been funny anyway.  Owen tried as well, but he snapped out of it.  Davis danced and sang and did all sorts of funny things.  I know he was really hypnotized, because there is no way Davis would be up on stage talking to people he doesn't even know.  It was so funny.  The same guy has shows for April and May as well, I think we may be going back, Owen wants to give it another shot.  

Snowbasin

Davis has been telling Gator he'd take her to Snowbasin.  She was excited that it finally worked out this weekend that they could both go.  She slowed him down a little, but not too bad.  She was fine going at her pace and Davis showed her a good run for her and then he was off doing the scary crazy stuff. 

Volleyball

Sports always slow down this time of year.  Basketball is just finishing up, and football hasn't started yet.  I'm glad Gator is playing volleyball to keep us doing something.  She likes the team, and they are improving.  Still playing much older teams, but they are getting good experience.  

Activity Days Date

For Activity Days, Gators group had a date night.  She invited Owen and they had a great time.  She loves to do things with her brothers, and they are usually pretty good to make time for her.  

Top Golf

No school means it is a play day.  I was bored with bowling or movies, and it is a little tough to find something that everyone wants to do in the winter.  I've never been golfing (except miniature golfing), so I have no idea where the idea of Top Golf came from, but it was a winner!  We had so much fun.  I couldn't even pretend like I knew what I was doing, but the boys caught on really quick.  We had lunch while we were golfing, and everyone laughed, smiled, and got along.  I needed a day like today so bad.  I hope we can actually get back down to Top Golf, it was a great time!

Region Champs

For the second year in a row, Fremont won Region Champs.  The season ended really discouraging for Davis with the concussion he got, that made it so he couldn't play the last few games.  I'm going to miss watching him play basketball, I hope he'll try out next year again. 

My Valentine

Yesterday I got Gator to leave the house after 3 days of being home sick.  We went out to one of our favorite places to eat.  She barely touched any of her food, and she really just wanted to go back home to bed, but she did eat all 3 chocolate covered strawberries.  

 We didn't have school today, and after being sick all week, Gator needed to get out and get some activity.  She only lasted about an hour, but it was worth the drive, she is really enjoying skiing this winter.  I better figure out a way to let her ski next year, because she has caught on and loves it. 

Pizza Day

We celebrated National Pizza Day by going to The Pie.  Look who we just happened to run into up there.  Kinda nice because it was crowded, so we just pulled up some chairs and joined them at their table.
