After dinner and FHE tonight, Gator gave her boys pony rides. I just had my phone, so the pictures aren't the best, but I can still here them laughing. I love these moments when we have down time, and my kids play together and laugh together.
Not too often the boys get a pony ride back to the swingset. Sunday, July 14, 2013

They saw the fireworks
After missing the fireworks over the 4th, the kids were a little bummed. This weekend was Clinton days, so I was able to redeem myself tonight with their fireworks show. We also walked around the carnival for awhile. I figured with Lagoon passes, they wouldn't bug to go on the rides, but I was wrong. I guess there is just something about the rickety, unsafe, traveling carnival rides that excites them. Luckily they all survived and made it through their tickets pretty quickly.
Gator insisted on going on this bee ride. I was a little disturbed that 2 or 3 of the friendly bees were headless. A little creepy if you ask me to go on a decapitated bee, but she chose one with a head and never seemed to be disturbed by their headless friends.
Even though this picture is staged, I still laugh. I have no idea what goes on during this ride because the kids load and the big door slides shut. There are no seatbelts or seats for that matter. It is just a padded room that spins really fast, I can only imagine what happens inside.
Davis's friend Kai joined us for the fun this evening. These 2 are together for a majority of the summer.
Owen was asked to play in a 3 on 3 tournament for Clinton Days. His first game last night entertained us all. I bet this poor kids was scared for his life. They were a very small team, but they fought for that one basket that they were able to shoot over Owen and make.

Had to stop
On the way home from Toquerville today we had to stop in Beaver at the cheese factory and get squeaky cheese (cheese curds) and icecream. It is a very yummy tradition.

Devils Hole
We waited for the thermostat to turn down this evening, then we jumped in the jeep for a desert run. It was a cloudy night and it was so nice and mild we enjoyed being out riding and hiking a little and not dying of heat. It is so fun down in Toquerville, we are never at a loss of what to do. We've had a fantastic trip down here!
Toquerville 4th of July
My kids and I are having a little disagreement. I completely enjoyed spending the 4th of July in Toquerville. They had a great time, but they say it wasn't the same without a parade. I actually hate the parades. I go for my kids. Toquerville had a town breakfast and then a program at the park. It was incredible and brought the whole spiritual part into the holiday for me. I loved sitting there in the park, looking at the American flag and listening to the patriotic songs that were prepared. They were different songs than I had ever heard, and they gave me goosebumps. I really enjoyed celebrating the 4th this way this year.
Along with the community numbers, a group called Rocking Horse band was there. This guy sounded just like Kenny Rogers. They did a great job.

I agree with my kids on the fireworks though. I did miss the firework show with everyone. Toquerville doesn't do fireworks and it is so dry this year they banned personal ones. But sparklers don't count right:). We sat outside the trailer and was able to see Hurricane's show in the distance, but it was different from being right there in front of them.
Quail Creek Reservoir
After the 4th of July breakfast, we went to the reservoir. Fearing it would be crowded cause it was a holiday, we were all shocked when it was empty. Talk about a trip down memory lane. When I was growing up, our summers were spent at pinview with my aunts and cousins. This reservoir reminded me of those days. I loved it there, it was so much fun!
Three Falls
We spent a lot of time swimming! It has felt so good in the water. We've been to this spot on the Virgin River before, but this time the water was so low. My boys have jumped off rocks in previous years, but this time at the deepest spot it was only up to my shoulders. Oh well, we still had a great time!! Ally loves catching the little frogs, they are all over.
