Dilated

We are getting all ready to go back to school (the only one excited about this is Gator) and we are getting back to school shopping done, and doctor appointments, even I have to have shots to return to work.  Davis has been complaining of headaches and sore eyes, I told him it was probably from too much screen time.  I made him an eye appointment, the doctor agreed with me.....too much Xbox.  His vision is great, I'm happy for that because I hate that I don't have good vision.  I'm grateful that so far, my kids have been blessed with good vision. 

Whoops!

Well, she's free.  I'm pretty sure a cast isn't just supposed to slip off, but we aren't going to tell Ryan, it's only a couple days early. 

 

I love the rain!

I waited all day for this storm, and it was awesome!  We went for a walk, I'm so glad my kids enjoy the rain with me. 

Gave in

Davis is having a great time at scout camp, it pays to be friends with the scoutmaster, because I get numerous texts daily and they include pictures!  He know me so well.  It's hot, and I just couldn't tell this cute girl no anymore.  She gets her cast off soon, so we just gave in and went swimming. 

 

Lagoon entertainment

We love having lagoon passes and just being able to go any evening and hang out for a couple of hours.  So glad we have family and friends to join us!

Blue Moon

I have used the phrase "Once in a blue moon....", but I never knew what it meant.  I never knew what an actual blue moon was.  Well, the news informed me that Friday night we were going to have a blue moon, and that a blue moon is the second full moon of the month.  The last blue moon was August of 2012.  We decided to have a little blue moon "party" Friday night because now we know what one is and gosh if it only happens every couple of years or so that is reason for a party.  So we watched Smurfs and had a blue treat.  I know, we are party animals, but hey we still had a fun evening. 

Aquarium

Since last week was our last week of summer without football completely overtaking our lives, we spent a day at the aquarium.  We will have time for little activities, but with football morning and afternoon, no more free days to play all day.  At least all together.  But that is okay, we have had another amazingly fun summer, and we are winding down ready to watch some football! 

Family dinner

Blake is getting baptized tomorrow so Dad & Dianne came into town and we had a fun dinner tonight.  The kids barely ate and were busy having a great time playing.  Mat brought a rocket he made, and that is what the kids played with almost the whole evening, they loved it.  I didn't take pictures tonight, Andrea had her camera and I stole these pictures from her.  Davis still got away with avoiding the camera, I swear he does it just to bug me.....

 Poor Connor, but this is the only picture I got of Davis.  He saw the camera and dove behind Owen to avoid it.  Little stinker!

Repeat

Last year as we were sending Grace off to college, we had a play day with cousins before she left.  Well, here it is a year later, and she's leaving this week for her second year.  Another fun day was in order before she could leave.  We went bowling again, just like last year.  Fat Cat's is easy and cheap, the perfect fun place to have a fun afternoon.  I had forgot that I took my kids to Subzero last year as well, until I was looking at old pictures. 

 My kids all took after me, it never takes very much to talk me into ice cream!

 Davis avoided the camera at all costs today, he even ran away screaming.  But, he loves Grace and finally stood there, cranky, but he still allowed me to take a picture of him.  I actually don't think he was cranky, Davis is more emotional then Owen, he internalizes things way different, and I just don't think he felt comfortable as we were all saying see ya to Grace. 

 So much to be proud of in these two!

Happy 24th

We had a fun evening last night celebrating the 24th of July.  Nothing fancy just water balloons, cousins, hot dogs, and fireworks. 

 

Just have to say!

We are having a little 24th of July party, but I'm quickly doing a blog post, because I've found the BEST invention in the world.   All kids love water balloon's, but they are a major pain in the butt to fill and tie.  Not to mention the hours it takes to do so, and then it takes about 30 seconds for them to all disappear.  I saw this invention on FB, it is kinda pricey, but sometimes ease wins. 

 Each bundle has 40 balloons, you hook up the hose and in less than a minute......

 Bam a whole basket full of water balloons.  Seriously, I will forever be singing the praises of the "Balloon Bonanza". 

Back to the water balloon fight, I will post pictures from the fun evening later.

Float Preview Party

A few years ago, Sheila took us to the float preview party for the Days of '47 parade.  It was so fun to see the floats up close and in air conditioning, that I've wanted to go every year since.  But we didn't make it back until this year.  We took the frontrunner down today and had a fun afternoon.  Josh and Rachelle's boys went along with us, thank you for letting me have them for the day!

 And the favorites.....the Jonah and the Whale float was my favorite. 

 BYU of course would be Owen.  He is a cougar  fan!

 Davis on the other hand is a Ute fan and this was his favorite float.
