I saw on FB that there was a chalkart festival in Bountiful this weekend. I am so glad that the kids and Sheila went along with me, it was so cool. I just could not believe that people could make such amazing drawings on the sidewalk with chalk. There were some foodtrucks there as well, and the kids chose the donut truck to give their buisness to for a snack. We had a fun evening together, and it was nice to spend some time together without a plan or a place to be. There was 130+ entries, and no possible way to pick a favorite, but here are some of the incredible drawings that we saw.

It was a happy Mother's Day
My Mother's Day began yesterday with a delivery from UPS. I got some amazing chocolate strawberries, they are so delicious, big, and juicy. Then after dinner, the kids took me to Cherry Berry for our annual Mother's Day ice cream night.
Life is most certainly not easy, but for these three remarkable kids, I will keep going. I can't help but smile when I think of how blessed I am to have the very best for me three kids I could have ever been given. There is no doubt in my mind of our Savior's plan that I was chosen to be their mother on this earth, and I can have them for eternity. That knowledge makes my Mother's Day and every day worth living. My kids have always prepared a meal for me on Mother's Day. It seems when church is early, I get lunch, when it is at 11:00, I get dinner, and when we have the late 1:00 church they prepare breakfast. This year, I got dinner. We decided to go to Sheila's so she could join us. The kids did a fantastic job making Manicotti, Salad, and Garlic Bread. I was so impressed, it was delicious.
The first Mother's Day we had to go to the cemetery to celebrate mom. It sucks, but having such an awesome family helps. Gator wanted to make something to put on grandma's grave, so her and I made these cute flowers out of felt and popsicle sticks. It was a project that took way longer then we thought, and we both had hot glue gun burns, but they turned out so cute and they look so cute at the cemetery and these flowers will never die.
It's been raining all weekend, so the kids were so happy to get out and enjoy each others company at the park. We froze as we ate root beer floats, but they sure tasted yummy.
These guys are growing into such awesome big people.
Trying to get Livia to stay and not leave to go home and do homework. Party Pooper!

Always snocone weather
We had to drive through a downpour to get to our favorite snowcone place, but it was opening day after all.

May Day
In history on May Day, baskets with treats were left anonymously on a persons step to celebrate spring and brighten another's day. We enjoy this tradition in our family and want to wish you a happy May Day!!
We spent the afternoon making treats to pass out to some neighbors. But the kids took a timeout to play a disgusting jelly bean game. I had no part in this game. They ate a jelly bean not knowing if it was vomit or peach, blue berry or toothpaste, buttered popcorn or rotten eggs, chocolate pudding or canned dog food and so on. No thankyou!

Snapchat
I'm old and behind on everything, but my kids finally introduced me to snap chat and I have to say it is right up my alley. We have such a good time playing around with the filters. Since I only follow my kids and then Grace, Livia, and Carrie, my boys are regretting showing me how it works.

The rest of April
No new posts in awhile. We are crazy busy with the end of the school year, basketball, yoga, soccer, track, finding jobs, and squeezing in a little play time when we can.
Another college day for Owen. He really really really would love to play football at Utah State. He visited Logan and a player gave him some gloves which was so super nice, because we haven't ever been able to find ones that fit him.
I was in the restroom the other evening and came out to the boys gone. Owen took the car and Davis to the store for dessert. I was okay with this because the store is a mile away and also because I just really like ice cream.
Davis is still loving and learning from his CBA team. He has an achilles injury right now that is has him off the court and very cranky. We're hoping he can be back out playing soon.
We finally found an Owen size cup.
Gator participated in a volleyball clinic at Rocky. She had a lot of fun. She is struggling with the decision if she wants to continue playing soccer or try something else. So this clinic was good for her.
Owen has his first job. They've worked for a neighbor in summers past, and Davis is doing some work for the nursery by our house, but this will be the first actual "job". I'm not sure where he will fit this into his schedule, but he is an expensive child and I think he wants to be able to help out with some of his stuff.
We found ourselves with a free evening after basketball practice got cancelled, so we went to Zeppes and got a treat.

Basketball is insane right now. I thought the school season was done, so we found Owen a comp team. Well, the school is doing a post season league and they have games 3 times a week, along with open gym times, comp practice and comp games. Owen is beat.
In their spare time, the boys are hanging out with friends so that leaves Gator and I home. Her and her friend wanted to go swimming the other night, so I took them for a couple of hours. With such an age gap between Gator and the boys, a lot of times, Gator ends up being the only child. She's not complaining though and I'm grateful I have a caboose. Davis is still loving and learning from his CBA team. He has an achilles injury right now that is has him off the court and very cranky. We're hoping he can be back out playing soon.

At work it was Aide appreciation day. I loved that it is the same day as super hero day. I love my job and my coworkers. I think in our kind of work, we are a little like super heros, so I think we got lunch catered to us because we were celebrating super hero day not aide appreciation day.

Animal Day
At work, my students have been learning about animals, so we had an animal day. I knew my animal lover would be in heaven so I brought her with me for the morning. Jana was nice enough to bring some of her puppies, and I was suprised once Gator saw those cute puppies, she didn't really want anything to do with the other animals.
Davis skipped 4th period (I guess that is a perk to having your mom at your school) and brought Blaze in again to visit. I was suprised at how many of my students wanted to hold a lizard. Davis was a proud reptile parent and shared, but kept a very watchful eye on him.
