Owen has been is St George for a basketball tournament. I knew he was going to be committing soon to ISU, but I didn't know he was going to do down there and not here. I got a snapchat the other day that led me to believe he had decided. Then I got a phone call saying it was done. So Gator and Davis sent a little snap of their own. And we planned a party for when he got home tonight.

ISU
This weekend, Owen had an official visit to ISU. This is all getting so real, and brings up so many emotions. Never in my wildest dreams would I think I would have a son thinking of going to Pocatello, where I lived for 2 years, to play football. But he is so excited, this isn't the end of his goal, but a huge stepping stone in getting to the NFL.
We spent a ton of time in the van, getting driven from meeting to meeting or activity to activity. It was kinda nice not having to drive, and the coach had Christmas music playing every time we got in the van, which I of course loved.
Touring the locker room. They of course loved this part, because there was a table full of clothing and shoes, socks, jackets, and sweats that will all be theirs when they commit and sign to play.
We were taken out for every meal this weekend. And it wasn't just burgers and fries. We were told to order anything that we wanted off the menu. I was actually a little uncomfortable doing this, but it was so fun. We had tickets to the basketball game Saturday. Owen doesn't love basketball, and he is feeling the stress of the recruiting process, so he asked his host if they could leave. Instead they went bowling and to play some mini golf.
The weekend was fun, but the decision will be tough. I hate seeing Owen so stressed out about something.

Ogden's Christmas Village
We've been going to Christmas Lights for many years. I love Christmas Lights. The Christmas Village in Ogden is always a fun place This year there was a lot of new displays that were fun to see. My favorite was McKay Dee's hospital room, Gator loved the ones with dogs, Davis didn't say he was too busy complaining of me taking pictures. But, he was there and I am grateful. Now if we could just get some snow.........

Forgotten Carols
I listen to my Forgotten Carols CD all year long, I love the music of the Forgotten Carols. I've taken the boys with me to the play, and they like it, but didn't care to go again. Gator had never been and now we've started a new tradition. It will be a perfect mother/daughter date to start the holiday season. A few cast members have changed in the few years since I've been, I liked the new actors, but Jordan Bluth will always be my favorite.

Christmas Tree
I love picking out our tree every year. Gator and I just walked up and down the rows of trees sticking our noses right in the tree and the boys just stood there rolling their eyes. But they smelled so good. We just walked up to the nursery around the corner from our house this year, and after we agreed on the tree, Owen picked it up and we walked home.

The weather isn't so North Pole
Time keeps going faster and faster. We had another North Pole Breakfast this weekend. I hate the thoughts that go through my mind during stuff like this. But seriously next year will look so different. I hate my kids growing up.

Happy Thanksgiving #2
Tonight we combined Thanksgiving with my family and Christmas with my dad. Him and Dianne drove up to spend the evening with us. Layton park was perfect because we had the bowery with fireplace for Thanksgiving dinner, and we were able to step out into the park and have it be Christmas with the lights.
Two Thanksgiving's, I told them that meant two family pictures. Much to my surprise, they fell for it.
Keep growing Jace, you do have the same genes as Owen. You'll get there someday!
Dianne prepared some fun games, the kids all had fun participating in. And Dianne is always prepared with prizes!

Too cool to participate
My dad makes the coolest toys out of his pecan wood. These tops are so fun to play with, I keep dropping strong hints that I would love for him to make some toys for my kids to have made by their grandpa. Thursday, November 23, 2017
Happy Thanksgiving #1
Thanksgiving 2017 pre dinner weight gain. It was a great holiday. Everyone came to Stewarts to spend the day together and we are just now getting home minus two kids who spent the night in Kaysville. Tomorrow we have another family dinner with my family. Two nights in a row of turkey, stuffing, and potatoes. We planned it right this year!
Sheila wanted a picture of all the grandkids. They seemed to be more willing for grammy then they ever are for me. I didn't even hear one complaint. Wednesday, November 22, 2017
Missing in Action
I've been MIA this month. My laptop died. Well, it died then came back, then died again and came back again. I think it is finally gone for good. In the mean time I did get a new laptop, but I am old, and I hate learning new things. Every time my old laptop decided to work, I spent the time working on photobooks for Christmas. Well, I have finally somewhat learned this new laptop. I'm not a big fan, but I am sure I will figure it out. At the moment I am not too happy as I'm trying to get my printer hooked up, so maybe after that I will like it more. It isn't looking too promising though. Tis the season for colds and sickness. Poor Owen has it bad. He won't stop though and isn't giving his body rest. Today he had a funeral to go to, a friend passed away, and since he's been home he hasn't woke up.
Weber State vs ISU
Davis is taking a transportation class at school, and since the beginning of the year, he's been building a go kart. He's loving the class, especially now that he can drive his go kart around during class.
Gator and I went to see the play Cinderella at Fremont. The drama students did a fantastic job, we really enjoyed it.
I've started working one night at week at the kids' basketball gym. That one night is taking care of all their fees, so it's a great deal. Gator loves it because when her coach is there, she brings her new puppy.
All the kids were at friends houses the other night and I was just kinda bored. Davis had been out the longest plus he was the closest, so I went and picked him up and took him out to dinner. I love the one on one time with my kids.
Fremont had their first game of the season for basketball. They played great, and besides being sicker then sick Owen did really good. It's always an adjustment to go from football to basketball especially when his heart is still on the football field.
I am ready for some winter and it just isn't coming. The warm sun just isn't letting up. For one day it did and it was a glorious cold rainy day.
I sent Davis to get a haircut the other day while I ran an errand. I walked into my friends house and she just said don't hate me. I laughed, she was braiding Davis's hair. I think it looked pretty good on him. I figure it's hair, it's pretty harmless, he could be doing much worse things then braiding his hair. Weber State vs ISU
So I started this post hours ago, and my printer is still not working. I am so not a lover of new things, especially technology. I am so old.

Sadies
Owen got asked to Sadies, and even though he said he didn't want to go to any more dances after Homecoming, he went and had a blast. He went with a girl that he has been friends with since 5th grade, so they know each other well and it was just a fun day. Now he says no more dances again, we'll see.
