Davis has been telling Gator he'd take her to Snowbasin. She was excited that it finally worked out this weekend that they could both go. She slowed him down a little, but not too bad. She was fine going at her pace and Davis showed her a good run for her and then he was off doing the scary crazy stuff.

Volleyball
Sports always slow down this time of year. Basketball is just finishing up, and football hasn't started yet. I'm glad Gator is playing volleyball to keep us doing something. She likes the team, and they are improving. Still playing much older teams, but they are getting good experience.

Activity Days Date
For Activity Days, Gators group had a date night. She invited Owen and they had a great time. She loves to do things with her brothers, and they are usually pretty good to make time for her.

Top Golf
No school means it is a play day. I was bored with bowling or movies, and it is a little tough to find something that everyone wants to do in the winter. I've never been golfing (except miniature golfing), so I have no idea where the idea of Top Golf came from, but it was a winner! We had so much fun. I couldn't even pretend like I knew what I was doing, but the boys caught on really quick. We had lunch while we were golfing, and everyone laughed, smiled, and got along. I needed a day like today so bad. I hope we can actually get back down to Top Golf, it was a great time!

Region Champs
For the second year in a row, Fremont won Region Champs. The season ended really discouraging for Davis with the concussion he got, that made it so he couldn't play the last few games. I'm going to miss watching him play basketball, I hope he'll try out next year again.

My Valentine
Yesterday I got Gator to leave the house after 3 days of being home sick. We went out to one of our favorite places to eat. She barely touched any of her food, and she really just wanted to go back home to bed, but she did eat all 3 chocolate covered strawberries.
We didn't have school today, and after being sick all week, Gator needed to get out and get some activity. She only lasted about an hour, but it was worth the drive, she is really enjoying skiing this winter. I better figure out a way to let her ski next year, because she has caught on and loves it. Pizza Day
We celebrated National Pizza Day by going to The Pie. Look who we just happened to run into up there. Kinda nice because it was crowded, so we just pulled up some chairs and joined them at their table.

Ice Castles
Finally after years of wanting to, I bought tickets for the ice castles. They are in Midway, so it's a little bit of a drive and tickets have to be bought in advance so every winter I wanted to go, but every year winter ended and I hadn't gotten a trip planned yet. I bought tickets back in November and I had to reschedule them one time, but we made it. I bought tickets that included a sleigh ride around the property, that was fun. Ends up the guy that led the sleigh was the son of a seminary teacher Owen once had. I was worried the weather wasn't going to cooperate because it has been warm and rainy, but besides a really muddy parking lot, everything else worked out great. It was beautiful, the sleigh ride and castles. Such a fun break to the mid winter blahs.
There were a few slides. One was a kids slide and the other was closed, so the line was pretty long for the remaining slide. Owen said he was too big, and Davis didn't want to hit his head again, so it was just Lu and Gator that went down it. From what I saw, you actually went pretty fast. The ice formations were beautiful before, but once it got dark and the lights turned on, it was so awesome. By then the kids were cold and hungry, so we pretty much left. I am so happy that I finally went to the ice castles. I know I want to go again, we'll see what next year brings.

Happy (Superbowl Birthday) 16th Birthday
Davis turned 16 today! He's finishing up drivers ed then he will get his license. I think the best part of his birthday was that Kennedy was back in town after her trip all week. I don't love the fact that he has a girlfriend, but I do love that he has such a good friend to help him through stuff right now. I wish he could see himself the way I see him. He is such a smart and funny kid. He is an awesome friend to me, and I love him. It was kind of a bad birthday, with the divorce and concussion, but none of that takes away from Davis and the person he is in our family. He and I went on a lunch date then we went to Kennedy's game and joined everyone at Stewarts to watch the Patriots win another superbowl. The game was actually pretty boring this year, but the company and food were good. Happy Birthday Davis, I love you fiercely.

Bubblegum and Icecream for Breakfast
Yesterday was bubblegum day and today was Icecream for Breakfast Day. Gator had Sydney over last night, they had fun celebrating together. Davis stayed in his room in the dark, but he did come out this morning for icecream. We'll never forget this one, the first Saturday in February, National Eat Icecream for Breakfast Day. Owen was housesitting all week, and he worked this morning. Bummer being an adult sometimes.

Mens league
Owen and a friend from high school are playing in a mens league in Clearfield. To be honest, it terrifies me. They are so aggressive and mean, but at the end, they are all hugging. I don't understand boys, and I most definitely don't understand sports and competition. It is fun watching Owen play sports again, I am so excited for football. He needs that to come so badly. So do I.
Concussion
This exact time last year Davis was out of basketball with a broken ankle. Well, here he is again out with a concussion. He got hurt in the game today and has a split/fat lip and a concussion. He is pretty sore and mad. I feel so upset. Nothing is going right right now, and I just want something to be a source of happiness. We will keep going, I still trust that there is a plan in all this mess.
He knows how to make me feel sorry for him.....cookies and ice cream for dinner!
