What is she doing?

Playing for Club Ice again.  Although she was put on an older team this year, so she has missed her team from last year, but she is making some friends on her new team.  The first tournament, they won the whole thing.  The second tournament, they struggled a little more and won some and lost some, but I think they are improving.  I know Gator is.
This year Gator decided to do robotics.  It's an after school club where teams build a robot.  She actually hasn't loved it, but she started so she will finish.  Even though she doesn't love it, her team won three ribbons at their first scrimmage.
Still sewing.  She made pajama pants.  She is surpassing my sewing level, pretty soon she'll be teaching me.

Never thought I'd admit it

Something I never imagined myself saying is that I am glad to have Joey back home.  It was a sad couple of months without him and he is such a good dog.  I just wish I could do something about his shedding, but I'll just keep vacuuming every day because look how happy he makes Davis.

Happy 17th Birthday Davis!!

I know I enjoy celebrating birthdays much more than my kids.  Well, except for maybe Gator.  I just love having a day all about the birthday kid and making them feel special.  Davis is now 17.  I'm going to skip over all the cliche sayings and just state that I am in utter shock that he is 17.  Next year, I will have 2 adult children and one just beginning her teen years.  I've almost survived two teenage boys.  But I'm going to be honest, they are much harder the older they get than when they were younger.  I still love them insane crazy amounts, they are just a lot of stress and worry.  I hope Davis had a good  birthday, and I hope he knows that he is very loved and prayed for.  I just wish that teenagers weren't so hard on themselves, that they could skip past all the social crap and just see that life will iron out and be okay.  Davis is in the thick of it right now, and I know the divorce and our current situation is hard on him and so stressful.  I hate that.  But I can help make his birthday a day about him and that is just what I did.  After school he and I went to Swig and got a drink and a cookie just the two of us.  Then we out to dinner after with Owen and Gator.  Davis, I love you.  I love your smile and your dimples.  I love seeing you happy and excited.  I love the relationship that you and I have. Happy Birthday!

Superbowl Sunday

It was hard to get into the game this year, because we just didn't like either of the teams at all.  But it was still the Superbowl, and we still had a party.
Davis always get to pick the treat because it is his birthday, and it's always mock oreos.  His favorite treat.  Good thing Krissy loves him and makes these for him every year.

He's doing really good

I was going through my phone a few nights ago and told Owen I hardly had any pictures of him this year.  He flashed me this winning smile.  Owen is still busy rehabbing his knee dying to get up to Idaho with the team.  His knee is recovering really really good.  He is surprising everyone with how fast his strength and flexibility are coming back.  Other then that he works, is coaching track at Fremont, seeing his friends, and busy hanging out with Kylee.  She has been good for him, she makes him happy and show that smile a lot more.
All decked out for a rodeo.  I love that they send me pictures of their dates.

Ice Cream for Breakfast

It's not healthy, but the first Saturday in February is National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day.  One day that we make sure to celebrate every year!

Lots of snow

I've been the worlds worst blogger this year so far.  I struggle with January, and this one has been really bad.  I feel like I'm coming out of the blah's though.  There has been a lot of snow this winter, and Davis and Gator are taking advantage of it.  It is a gamble to buy a ski pass, wondering how good the snow will be, but it's definitely been worth getting a pass this year, they've had a great time.

January 28

I didn't plan anything for my birthday this year.  Mediation has been scheduled for tomorrow for a couple months and I've just been dreading and stressed for that.  And everyone was busy, but the kids still made me feel loved and gave me some cute birthday greetings.  And finally at 9:30 when we were all home we had a treat.

Jordan World Circus

We went to the circus again.  There were quite a few different acts this year then in the past couple of years, like this crazy 7 year old that stacked a bunch of chairs and climbed them.  I would never.  I think my favorite is still the elephants.  This year there was a very vocal elephant.  He was not happy that he was behind the fence while the guests were riding the other elephant.  I'm so glad my kids will still go to the circus with me, cause I really enjoy it.

New hobby

With the new rules for the Young Women, Gator got her temple recommend and has found a love for serving in the temple.  She is enjoying going and loves to take a friend with her.  She is doing awesome at getting my temple attendance up as well.

Still celebrating

Like I said last night the boys went to Milford and Gator spent the night in Kaysville.  The day after a holiday, and these kids are still looking for a party.  We have to bring them down slowly, so we made plans for ice skating and swimming in Bountiful.
After hanging out with cousins all day, Gator was still wired and wanted to have Lainee over.  We stopped by and picked her up on our way home.  They decided 15 degrees wasn't too cold to walk to the hot tub bare foot in swim suits.

Christmas Day

Today was an awesome Christmas.  I wouldn't have changed a thing, except maybe some snow, but I had a great day enjoying my kids and we were able to wake up and take it slow and just enjoy the day.  I think I was the most excited about these dumb socks with Joey on them.  I got a pair for each of them in their stockings.  They all loved them too.  This dog is one spoiled family pet, he is very loved.  Davis and Owen got pretty much the same stuff.  I get it for one, I know the other will love it too.  Gator was excited with her blanket (she would take all the blankets) and a Lagoon pass.   My family decided to do our party on Saturday this year, so we didn't have anywhere to be.  We took our time this morning, then I made a big breakfast, and I took a nap while the kids relaxed and played some games on the Switch.  We are doing our party this weekend, but we still went over to Krissy and PJ's for dinner.  Gator spent the night and the boys are going to Milford in the morning with Dave & Sheila to get a gun safe moved.
I love making the books for the kids for Christmas every year.  I hope they enjoy them and enjoy sharing them with their own family someday.
Gator has been wanting some ski goggles, now she needs to try these new fancy goggles out.
 More signs for his room.
Gator had this cute coat sent to her from an anonymous family member.  We really do have awesome family that cares about us.
Two peas on a pod.  Carhartt, a new hat, and truck accessories.
