Few Fav's

One determined soccer player.
Leading the pack to a goal!!
She spent half the game with her tongue sticking out.
I like this picture of Davis.  He has one guy he's hitting away with his right arm and another with his left.
Davis is quick and strong.  He's already in the back field just charging at the QB.  He got the sack with this play!
Heading back out on the field.
This one is Owen.  Running right by his blocker.  Watch out QB, here he comes!
Nevermind the big boy on the left and the big boy on the right, Owen will just push right through.
I love this up close one of Owen, no smiles in football.  He says you gotta have a game face.

Region Champs!!

Davis's team won the region championship tonight.  The game was played on a weeknight because it was a 3 way tie for first place.  And these awesome boys walked away winners.  First place!!  It was an exciting game.  Davis called the coin toss and the ref gave him the game coin and told him it was his to keep.  He was so excited and said that is now his lucky coin.

Kids Pictures

I took pictures of my kids tonight.  The kids are bigger so they complain more about pictures, but yet they are older so they understand that if they just sit and do what I ask it will be easier and go faster.  However, there definitely is a point where we are all just done.  Luckily I got some cute shots before we (I) reached that point.

Dinner Celebration

I hate deciding what to make for dinner.  But when it is National Cheeseburger Day, it is an easy decision!

Remembering

This day was so funny.  Owen had tied the wagon to his bike and was giving Davis a ride around the neighborhood.  They did this for quite awhile and Davis was loving it.  But then Owen realized he was doing all the work and getting the bum end of the deal.  Davis tried so hard to give Owen a ride, but he just wasn't strong enough.  Poor Owen, he's always been a good sport about being bigger then everyone though.  When he started school, I would ask him what he did at recess.  Everyday he told me he stood by the playground and lifted the kids up on the toys and bars because they couldn't reach.  Some days I just like to look at old pictures and remember.  It makes me smile to think of funny things the kids do and have done.  And I need to smile more often:)

That moment

I had "that moment" the other day, where I looked at Davis and thought to myself, when did he grow up?

Dinner in the park

That is all 15 grandkids.  What a great group of kids!!  And they all just let me take this picture, it only took like 5 minutes and that included finding them all and me deciding on where I wanted to take it.  Once in awhile it all works out and I get a cute picture like this.  This evening we all met in the park to have dinner.  It was a perfect evening, and fall was in the air!  That made me so excited, I love fall.  Krissy got a new camera and I may have gone a little overboard playing with it, but I just couldn't help myself.

Grandma Johns

Grandma Johns passed away last week, and her funeral was today.  I laughed at the funeral as everyone spoke of her traits that we all loved.  She meant a lot to a lot of people.  As I was sitting with her last Sunday, I was holding her hand and admiring her fingernails.  I always wanted grandmas fingernails.  As a teenager I would go and paint her nails.  I think she just let me do it, so we could visit and chat.  I remember when she made my wedding dress, or as a kid if I was wearing too short of shorts or skirt she would say "why don't you have a party and invite your shorts/skirt down?"  I remember spending a lot of time at her house, spending lots of nights in her bed.  Or the time I was with Carrie and our cousin and we broke the sofa bed out in the family room, grandma didn't get mad.  I think that was the same night we were standing on the bed and broke the light too.  I remember being scared as a little kid when grandma had her teeth out.  I remember her reading her scriptures and her Sunday School manuel.  I remember her sitting at her kitchen table playing solitare looking out the window to see what was going on.  And all the dinners she prepared and clothes she sewed.  I have so many memories of my grandma, and I love her very much.

Her Day

The last 2 weeks have been torture for Gator.  Sending her boys to school and not being able to go herself was almost too much for her to handle.  This morning she woke up with a big smile knowing it was her day.  Finally!
And besides football practice, this is how the boys spend their time.  I can't believe how much homework the boys bring home.  They sure work their little brains.  I'm about to the point where I can't help Davis with his math, and he is only in the 4th grade, how sad is that.  School is so different from when I was in the 4th grade.  Yes, they have on matching shirts.  When Owen saw what Davis was wearing this morning, he was mortified.  But at least now they go to different schools, since they both refused to be the one to go change.

Loving the rain

I was so excited as I lay in bed at 5 am this morning listening to the thunder.  It was massive, so much louder than I have ever heard.  All the kids slept right through it.  But when it returned this afternoon with a down pour of rain and beautiful rainbows, we were outside playing.
Davis brought Bella outside to play with us, so I told him fine if he gave her a bath afterwards.  This wasn't quite what I meant, but I couldn't complain because he was giving Bella a bath.  I just didn't mean for him to climb in with her.

Deuce

A couple of years ago, we took a trip to Boise and had dinner at a diner where Clark attempted their food challenge.  He didn't make it, and hasn't tried another since.  Today after football, we stopped in for a quick lunch at Burger Stop.  The boys noticed right away they had a food challenge and dared Clark to give it a shot.  The burger was called the deuce.  It was five patties, five slices of cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoe, and onion rings.   He must've been hungry because he finished this monster burger before I even finished my salad.  The boys thought it was great, but Ally was just more interested in her corn dog.  She thought it was so funny when the breading came off, and she was eating a "naked hot dog".  Sometimes it is just painfully obvious she has older brothers!

Note to self

I need to remember to shop only when my kids are in school or left at home, because they are for sure to get me in trouble.  These 3 had a little too much fun with the shopping cart today at Sams Club.
