Waterworld

A couple of years ago, the boys were watching the Travel Channel's episode of "The Worlds Best Water Parks".  They featured a park in Denver that has been on our bucket list since they saw that show.  So when we were talking vacations for the summer this was the first place they wanted to go.  We had a blast!!  It was huge, we were there from open to close and we still didn't get to do everything.  But we did get to do everything that the boys had researched and really wanted to do.
Gator loved all the kid pools.  This one, she had to herself pretty much.  It was called "Wally's World"
I think this one was one of my favorite's.  It was a lot of work to carry the tube up to the top, but it was so much fun to ride down the "Colorado River" together in the tube.
Davis was the only one brave enough to do these speed slides.  He says brave, I say crazy!
This was at the top of our list, and it's the only that we really had to wait for.  It is called, the Mile High Flier.  It is a water roller coaster and it was very worth the wait.
The other slide, we had at the top of our list was called Revolution.  It was actually at the boys top, and at my scarey stay away from list.  But I went on it, and I think it was my favorite.  Lovely picture of me just about falling off the tube huh.
No way were the boys talking me into going on this one.  I let them do it alone.  It was like a skate board half pipe thing, and it was awful, but they thought it was great!
The park was so huge there is a tram to take you from one end to the other.  This was at the end of the day, and we were exhausted, but I think it's my favorite picture of the whole day.
Closing down the water park in the wave pool.  What fun memories we will have of this day!

Our Denver trip

We just got home from vacation in Denver.  We had a blast!!  I took so many pictures and we did so many fun things, I'm going to separate posts into days.  We drove out to Denver on Monday.  And by the time we got there, we were tired and Gator was dying to swim, so we just spent the evening by and in the pool.  If we didn't have tickets to other places, we could've just swam at the hotel the whole week.  We always have a good time swimming together.

Free day at the Train Museum

I can't believe it is summer vacation.  And just like last year (it seems like last month) we are taking advantage of the RAMP activities.  So many places to visit, and they are free.  It is always fun to have a day with cousins.  After the train station we went back to our house for a hot dog roast. We have a vacation coming up this week, it is going to be so much fun!  As always I will take a ton of pictures, never have to worry about that!

A developing trend

So many swimming pictures.  Well, it must be summer.  Josh and Rachelle invited us over tonight for a swim and BBQ.  I had to drag my kids out of the pool, they had a great time.  And Josh, the hamburgers were yummy!!  Thanks for the fun evening guys.

Rodeo

We have friends who attend St. Mary's Catholic church here by our house, and tonight they were hosting a rodeo in Hooper.  The kids and I are always up for a fun activity so we went to the rodeo with Sheila and Chris.  I've been to a lot of rodeo's, but I enjoy these small town ones a lot more compared to the big crowded ones.  Half the fun of a rodeo is the clown.  Davis said he wants to do that when he grows up.  That child has about 101 careers that he wants to do ranging from zoo keeper to NFL to NBA and now rodeo clown.  I think I'd rather him be the clown, than the cowboy getting thrown from the bull, I don't know though the clown is the one that throws himself in front of those bulls to save the riders.  Only time will tell I guess, but I'm glad we went tonight, it was a fun time!

Not just any swim day

We not only went swimming at Lagoon today, but at lunch we celebrated National Donut Day!  I am not a donut fan, but the celebration was a big hit with my kids.  They love their donuts.  It is always a great day when we get to go swimming AND eat donuts.  Lagoon a beach was a blast.  No more kiddie pool for Gator, she is tall enough for the big slides and she took advantage of growing over the winter by going down all the slides with a huge smile.  Owen is such a good big brother, and made sure she got to go down all the slides that she wanted to.   Davis is the only one crazy enough to go down the speed slides....no thank you.  So besides expired sunscreen and getting fried we had a great day!

First Trophy

I don't know how Gator feels, but I'm sad TBall is done for the season.  Like I said before, TBall is totally my sport.  Everyone wins and everyone has a great time.  Well, it doesn't matter if the season is over because she got a trophy and she is over the moon with her first trophy.

The heat is here

It has taken a little while to get warm enough to head to the pool, but today it was plenty warm, and looking at the forecast, we are in for a major heat wave.  Good thing we have plans to swim again tomorrow!

Park and Icecream!

We drove out to Layton tonight to babysit.  Krissy and PJ were celebrating their anniversary, so we hung out with their kids.  Everything went smoothly and everyone got along great.  I handled 7 kids like a pro.  But, I was too busy to take pictures darn it.  Owen was happy.  When I did have a moment to pull my phone out, he took off.   I got thinking, age wise, they could all be mine.  I love them dearly, and we had a fun evening, and I am more than happy to babysit anytime, but I'm glad I came home with just 3 of the 7.

Sunday Nights

I am so in love with summer Sunday evenings.  They are my night, and I get to choose what we do.  I always pick to eat outside, tonight we ate hobo dinners.   Sometimes we play games in the shade and just hang out.  No rush, no place to be.  Tonight we pulled the old TV outside by the trampoline and watched The Three Stooges.  If it weren't for the mosquitos, we would've laid there all night.  It was a perfect Sunday night.

And the winner is....

It was Gators turn to win big at Toads.  We went again this week and she spun the wheel to 500 tickets!
Davis has been doing a basketball camp out at Fremont and today the 4th & 5th graders were having a free throw contest.  Well, by that smile, I bet you can guess who won!!  He got a new basketball as a prize.
This morning Owens basketball team got these nice jackets for taking first place in the league.  Great job!
